Iv seen both series and I have to say that i like Sign a lot better. Sure it may not make a lot of sense to people who are not used to watching anime, but the directing was so much better, and i liked the overall them.
In twilight everyone was almost chibified and it seemed like there was nothing serious about it.
Also i would like to point out that there was one episode that happened in .hack//sign and in .hack//twilight.
In both stories tsucasa and the character in twilight that really looks likes tsucasa are both in the same situation but in twilight the story is watered down and given a nice happy ending...
I would just like to know everyones opinion on which series they prefer..

It's a tie for me. Both of the series have good and bad parts, so it pretty much evens out.
PS: Is it just her, or are there other people who think that Shugo looks like Tsukasa? In my opinion, they look and act almost nothing alike.

I would have to say Sign is better... Twilight... Well I found it wasn't complete enough. (I read the manga, so if the anime's different, sue me.) I mean, the ending of the manga was just... Blah. So they found Aura. Big deal! What happened to the rest of the people? I found it really bad...
Although Sign is better in that way, it's also a pretty 'neh...' ending... but not as bad as Twilight's.

Twilight gets points for cuteness, however it still bothers me that they didn't stick to the same art style as Sign and the games. D:
Sign is the winner for me.

Twilight was alright but I actually prefer .hack//SIGN as well. I loved the characters much more in Sign than twilight.

In twighlight there was like a whole three episodes with shugo and rena yelling shugo!!!! Rena!!!! in slowmotion. besides that I didn't like the plot as much. And they seemed to change "The World" A bit for this story. There is a story where tsukasa and kite meet before shugo and rena. I saw the last episode of it on youtube and liked it a lot.

another thing, there was never an episode were the characters LotT met with Sign... you maybe thinking of ep. 28 unison where the xxxx cast met with Sign (xxxx also known as the game characters...).

//SIGN! the anime version of //LEGEND sucks! The manga is way better ^_____^ so //SIGN all the way! although //ROOTS is nice too 3nodding I can't decide which is better though, //SIGN or //ROOTS neutral
