I just wanted to know if anyone feels the same way I do about the animated series. I love the manga and its the best to me. But the animated series really just puts me in a state to question it. I just got done watching all 27 episodes of it and it really is a bad anime. I just couldn't believe how horrible the anime was. It just didn't make sense like the manga. I already know that any book/ manga made into an animated series is either going to be good or bad. Now DragonballZ, Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, ect are really good as both. But One Piece, Fruits Basket, ect are really bad as an animated series. I hope this doesnt upset anyone but I'm really sad about how badly the animated series is. And I hope Clamp makes another great manga like Chobits.

I personally thought the anime wasn't that bad.I mean the manga was better, but the anime was decent. In the anime there were certain episodes that were not part of the plot in the manga, and that's what I thought was the best about the animated series. Overall,I liked the manga better, but I thought the anime was cute too. (Btw, did you watch the Japanese or English version?)

I watched the Japanese version. Any anime that is translated into English almost always fails...

well i respect your opinion but i believe that the show was very cute. But of course, reading the manga and then watching the show is like reading a harry potter book and then watching the movie. There is always something to disagree with.

Well I haven't read the manga, so I have no basis of comparison. I personally liked the anime though. I think there is more of a bias when you have to compare. Like if you've read the manga, you are gonna judge the anime more harshly, and if you watch it in Japanese first, you are gonna judge the English version more harshly, and vise versa.

The anime was okay, but the english dub could've been better. I think Tanaka Rie did a great job with Chii's voice. I liked the manga better. Things somehow seemed to make more sense and the whole story just felt a bit more real.

I've never read the manga, but I've seen the anime series. I thought it was very good, though there's not much stuff I don't like sweatdrop I've never seen it in japense, I only seen the dub and thought it wasn't bad.

I think you'll almost always find that the manga will be better than the anime. I have yet to see a novel turned into a movie in which the movie is able to capture everything about the novel. One blaring example, and forgive me but it's the only one I can think of right now----the Harry Potter novels versus the movies. I haven't read all of the books, yet, but my husband has told me after seeing nearly all of the movies that they left SO MUCH OUT that was in the books, that was important to the story and/or character development. Now, with a series, you'd think they'd be able to fit it all in there, but sometimes they just can't make it make sense on screen the way they can in print.
I do happen to think that Chobits in Japanese is much better than the English translation. Something is almost always lost in translation.
