I understand the whole concept of general noobishness. I mean, you have a new player, or member, or whatever the proper term is, and they don't know the rules. It's as simple as that. The rules could be anything from the actual game rules to generally accepted conventions. What I don't get though is why people persist in being n00blike after they have been around for a while, and why people aren't more tolerant of them. Any ideas?

Hmm. I've actually never really encountered this before. Or if I have, I've never really noticed. Actually... I'm usually the n00b, so other people acting n00bish... I don't notice, because I'm new myself. Eeep.

I hate it when people call me a n00b. Even when I'm not acting like one. The funny thing is that most people who call me a n00b, haven't been on Gaia as long as I have. Like one time, I was being eaten alive by these people in this one thread, just because I knew how to spell, or type correctly. & thay wer all tipeing lyke thiis. So I told them that that is one of the most annoying things I have ever seen on Gaia, and they kept calling me a n00b. It pisses me off.
But to almost/actually not answer your question/my oppinion is that people just act like that after a while to get on other people's nerves. There are so many people that want Gaia to shutdown, so they try to pester as many people as they can. If not that, then maybe they're just mentally challanged or something ((I didn't mean that in a mean way)).

Hmmm well I think w've all been a newb at some point, but most people learn how not be be so. I've always been patient with them. The only time I ever persisted in calling some one a n00b is when my friend didn't know what it was, so we were tormenting her, but that was really just all in fun.

Alot of newbies are mislabled noobs. To many people jump to conculsions about newbies.

Alot of newbies are mislabled noobs. To many people jump to conculsions about newbies. Well, I definitely don't like n00bs. Unfortunately, I don't really like newbies either... that is, the ones that I don't get to know. If I know them or talk to them, it's okay ^^ Then again, there's hardly anyone I like that I don't talk to. Maybe that's part of the problem.
