So here I am.

I actually arrived here about two days ago. I rang the doorbell and Sofa answered it. I told her who I was...and my God, I have never heard anything squeal so loudly.

So...I'm here now.

"Here" is the house. It's actually an apartment over a bar. I know it sounds iffy, but one of Sofa's friends owns it. It's rarely open, so the bar is practically used as the kitchen. We sort of have a backyard...it's a small garden in the back. They grow tomatoes in there, and peppers. It always smells odd in my room.

My room is across from Sofa's. It's pretty big, actually, because when she showed me off to her friends, they kicked out two of the tenants and put me in a good room. I guess I deserve it for being so darn cute.

There are a lot of people who hang around here...two guys and four girls usually swing around. I'm getting to know the two guys pretty well. We had a burping contest. I burped the alphabet to the letter "G", and they burped to "P" and "M". But Sofa came along last minute and burped to "T" so we all lost.

This journal...is supposed to help me control myself and my temper. I have a small one. Okay, it's not small. But I try to control it. Sofa says having something to rant at helps, especially when it doesn't talk back.

I'm looking forward to going back into the bar to talk to more people, but I think it's actually open and people are ordering drinks, so maybe I'll go into the kitchen and bug Sofa to death.

I didn't realize until now that living here would be so stressful. Apparently, Sofa figured out that I could work in the bar as a dish washer.

The only good thing about her revelation is that now, thanks to that moisterizer soap thing, I have really soft hands.

I've been working all day, but Sofa says it's good for me. She spends most of her time in the kitchen. Talking to the cook and throwing things at the bartender.

She told me that she's the assistant manager. (The reason she's the assistant is because the real manager gets drunk too often. Sofa says it's just a bad habit of hers, but I think she needs serious help.) So she spends a lot of time working. I miss her. But working in the back lets us spend time together.

Sort of.

Anyway, she thinks that maybe next weekend we can go to the zoo! I've never been to one before.

My God.

Sofa took me shopping today, for an award...for someone, she forgot to mention the name.

Anyway, we get into the car and drive down Mainstreet, and when we get to the awards shop, we find out that it's A) nonexistant and B) been bought out by a McDonalds.

So, Sofa phones Ms. Kokoro and asks for another address. We drive to 15th to find out that Dot's Trophies has moved. So, we get into the car and drive to Treepark Dr...and the bloody store is closed.

I want to shoot someone.

Sofa smashed her head against the "closed" sign, and sighed.

We're back at home now, and Ms. Kokoro is yelling at us.

Entry 4

June 12, 2005

Lately I've been thinking hard about things to do with my time. I don't really have any hobbies, I usually just hang out upstairs and read. Sofa suggested I apply to volunteer at a used book shop, across the street from here. I personally don't see why people would want to buy USED books, they're all old and yellowing. But I'm bored, and I hardly have anything else to do, so I think I might.

Later:

I don't know how I got myself roped into this mess.

The entire store is old, dusty and cramped. The only people working here are two senile women, who can't read without their bifocals, which they keep losing. I don't know what I'm going to do, but Sofa says it'll build character.

She's also pretty happy that my working here will get her free books.

The store is about the size of a living room, with only shelves as furniture, and a counter with the cash register on it. They wouldn't let me use the cash register, because I'm so "immature" and liable to "steal something", but I'm allowed to move all the heavy boxes around for them while they sip their tea in old, chipped mugs.

There are seven sections, Fiction, Non-fiction, SciFi, Cooking, Mythology and Religion, Childrens and Special Interest. The Fiction section is the largest, and therefore needs the most attention. So I spend most of my time cataloging romance novels and bad fantasy yarns about unicorns and happy fairys, and guys named Bruno.

I think it's going to give me gray hair.

In fact, most of the things that Sofa has me do nowadays give me gray hair, like cooking my own food. I mean, seriously, I was not made to cook. I can heat up stuff in the microwave, but as soon as she leaves me near the stove, things start breaking, they catch on fire, explode, etc, etc.

In any event, I have to get to work now, so I'll write more later.
