If a literate Avatar Rp was created would you join, or just shrug it off like nothing? UPDATE: The rp has been created, and is in need of original and new characters. ]http://www.gaiaonline.com/forum/viewtopic.php?page=1&t=15610135#829193296

If the RP followed all the rules set down the show (I.E. - No multibenders; only water, fire, earth and air; air nomads extinct (depends on the time); etc. etc.) and posessed a good staff whose main goal was to create a intelligent, high quality Avatar RP.. then Yes, I'd give it a look and probably join. I have been roleplaying for 8 years myself, and I am a profile moderator (I accept and decline characters) for the Feng Shui - Avatar: The Last Airbender RPG. While we have been label as a very harsh group of RPers, too serious, no fun, and stuck up snobs, we pride ourselves on our quality of RP and on the quality of characters we accept.

Everything would probably be the same as the show, a couple tweaks here and there, but still along the plot. As for the characters, I was thinking five years in the future, perhaps more... But we would still follow the saga of Aang, Katara, Sokka, and Zuko.

a30993 Alex, a waterbender from the southern tribe You see.. right there is one of main problems I have with Avatar RPs. No body seems to realize a few things. 1. Avatar is an Asian Based World. Asian names are only used. You never see someone named Sarah! You see someone named Saruria instead. 2. Very few people seem to realize what is canon in the show. For example.. a waterbender from the Southern tribe? Don't people remeber Katara saying in the first episode: "You're looking at the ONLY waterbender in the entire south pole." and that's the tip of the iceburg! Really people.. follow the canon rules. Thats one of our biggest problems at Feng Shui - Avatar: The Last Airbender RPG. People seem to think they get away with have female warrior waterbenders in the North Pole. They think they have firebender earth kingdom citizens. They think they can bend more than one element. They think they have blonde, red, and white hair. Hell I've rejected a few with neon blue. It's these types of restrictions that breed creativity, not impede it. For example.. Feng Shui recently passed a rule banning benders for the time being (Because we have over 60% benders when it's common knowledge that the ability to bend is rare, in only 30% of the population, 50% at max)... Our new members are having to research exotic weaponry to give their characters something to be skilled at. *Shakes head* gonk Please people! Be knowledgeable about the Show you're roleplaying!

Ode2Sokka - Feng Shui is a Forum RPG. It's a giant message board that people roleplay on. Feng Shui just happens to be Avatar based. You have to register first, though we have a special board where guests can post questions. You register with your character's name (Or you can register with something else, and change your Display Name to your character's name) and then you fill out a profile form. Your profile goes through a review by one of the three profile moderators (I am one of them). We either approve, or dispprove of the character. If you are not accepted, the moderator will make suggestions on how to improve your character and what needs to be changed. You then modify your profile and await the next review. Most profiles are not accepted until their second review, and some profiles have been reviewed up to 13 times. You are then allowed to start to Roleplay in any of the Role Playing Boards.

Missyone created this thread to discuss the possiblity of a literate Avatar RPG, therefore she sets the rules of the discussion. I don't think this is the actual place of Roleplaying.. That will probably be a guild. I was merely stating that people like you are one of the reasons why I don't consider many avatar RPGs to be good RPGs. Plus when you consider that waterbending is heridetary, and most children show abilities by the age of 5.. kinda hard to suddenly learn when your older than that. This thread.. I think is more to discuss the idea of a RPG, not post your characters and I was merely introducing how we do things over at the Avatar RPG I work at, Feng Shui.

Firephoenixflame, i would like to thank you for forcing down our throats the feng shui way of doing things. even if you wasn't your intention, it's what you did.
tho i think it was uncalled for bashing a30993, even if was just to prove a point
BUT, if it takes 5 years after the war and follows the group saga, then it is possible to have a waterbender from the southern tribe. why? 1) the men could have returned home 2) those little boys in tribe have grown up and most likely have learned some waterbending, if they can do it (mostly likely a couple will) i can understand the name not exactly fitting with the story, but it's whatever missyone wants. don't force ideas when you don't even know if that's how things are going to be handled

Yes it is possible for their to water benders in the south pole after 5 years. However, where did Missy One say that this was the thread for RP? This is a thread to discuss RP.
My first post merely pointed out common problems with Avatar RPs. a30993 took offense, which he has every right to do. However, I think that it should be stated AGAIN that this is not a thread for Roleplaying, nor for creating characters. Missyone said nothing about this, but merely asked us her opinions on how we would feel should a Avatar RP be started.
My second post restated the fact that this is Missyone's thread. a30993 can name his character WHATEVER he wants. I never said he couldn't. I ONLY said that he was an example of the problems I have with Avatar RPs. I never claimed that my way was the right way or the highway. I explained certain problems we have at the Feng Shui Avatar RPG I am apart of becase, scuh as characters with neon blue hair, because I feel that too many people don't pay attention to the details in the show.
Then in my third post, because Ode[2]Sokka asked, I explained the process for applying at feng shui.
My fourth post was in defense of what my first post orginally stated because a30993 responded offensively to me.
That is all I did.
