I just got prescribed some xanex for my anxiety... has anyone had any experience with it? Any tips, cautions, etc?

I haven't had it, but my best friend loves the stuff for her anxiety. She tries to get doctors to prescribe it, but since it can be addictive, none will give it to her long term.

Addictive, gotcha. I'll be careful with it. (Or I should say MORE careful, since I'm careful with anything I'm putting into my body). Basically, just don't take a lot of it every day. If I have a day off work and I'm not going to be doing anything stressful, I skip my Ativan (another benzo like Xanax). Just give yourself breaks from it when you're having a good day, and you should be fine.

i heart xanax.
i've never been prescribed it but a friend gave me some awhile back and i took it for anxiety and it worked like a charm.

I hate Xanax. For myself, it made me feel like a zombie. Somebody could have murdered my family when I was on it and it wouldn't have even phased me... eek
