Hello fellow fighters,

Once, long ago, in 6th grade or so I stumbled across a lesbian/feminist comic in a history book. I'm rather distraught, as I cannot recall exactly the title... but it was something along the lines of...

"{{INSERT NAME HERE}}, the homicidal lesbian"

...or something... she had a mohawk, I think, and marvelled often upon the benefits of spontaneous combustion to society...

Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Please help me in my search. I would like to be able to purchase these comics and whip them out in times of need...

Well Hot Head is what you are refuring to over there.

I'm not sure if you would call Dawn Feminist. But I think it's pretty fem!posative... At least I think so.

I'd definatly consider Wonder Woman a feminist type comic character.

What about the female villans? They're pretty cool too! xd

Female villains.... Catwoman comes to mind. There's also Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn.

Spider_Jerusalem had a pretty interesting journal entry about that, actually. I'm not a huge comics fan myself, but I like his writing style.

There's been a huge increased of strong, intelligent, female characters in comics. A lot of them are even getting their own comics and keeping them for reasons aside from being pretty and wearing skimpy clothes.

The newest Manhunter... oh and Kate from Young Avengers. There are others that I can't remember at the moment.

A) I, too, have experienced the perversions of restrictive, Catholic-based internet censorship. I used to dorm at my Catholic college... and yeah... it was censored. Sucks.

B) There's this fantastic article that b***h magazine did in their current issue about Wonder Woman. Evidently, she was conceived by a man who wanted to create a character that was woman-friendly (and for all intents and purposes feminist). So yeah--in the 1940s, Wonder Woman was feminist, indeed.
