Ok this forum is pretty straight forward. Post your drawing for all to see. Only a few simple rules.

1. Post your own drawings (this means no taking other peoples work and claiming it for your own)
(edit 7/10/06) celestin: you can post other people's art as long as you give credit to who did it 3nodding

2. Don't post your pics in other people's threads (this is to cut down on loading time so that everyone can see what the person drew, without having to wait forever for the page to load)

3. Post each your drawings in separate threads (again so that loading time is cut down, also that way you know which pic people are complementing or critizing on)

4. If you are going to critize someone's drawing "no flaming", constructive critizism only (if you can do better than great, show us)

5. If the picture is too big please be sure to resize it or create a link to it.

6. An extended version of rule 5, please try to avoid quoting a series of pictures, because it would extend the page vertically by a lot. Instead just reference your quote by removing the IMG tags, which would just leave you with the url to the image.

Am I copying someone? FAQ

Copying rules for gaia art: http://www.gaiaonline.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8551892&page=1

We don't hold copying rules as much as gaia mods would, but keep note the difference between copied work and original works.

1) Obviously you can not just steal someone else's work and claim it as yours
2) Less obvious, you can not trace off someone else's work and claim it as yours
3) Not so obvious, even if you do change how the character looks but keep the pose and everything else the same, it is copying. For example in literature, if you take a paragraph and just rearrange the words and sentences, it is still plagiarism.
Here is an example given in "The Copy FAQ" thread under art discussion
User Image

Quote:
The image on the right is the original. The image on the left is a copy. The image in the center is referenced. What is the difference between the center image and the image on the left?

Compare the original with the copy (in fact it's a near trace). It's obviously a different character, but if you were to superimpose one on the other, they would be near identical. The only thing I changed was the hair and the clothes. It is, in fact, a copy.

So to avoid trouble with the mods please give credit to whatever works you used to make yours
