I was curious about it and I looked up ps3 again
Sony has confirmed that will be shipping the 60GB PlayStation 3 model, priced at £425 in the UK
that is going to burn a hole in my wallet

Hm.. $699 USD... Graphics about equal to that of the Xbox360.. need an HDTV to really see the update in graphics and what not....and.. no rumble feature in the wireless controller.. that's the part I'm upset about...

yeah... rumble feature gone is a bit of a downside, but it has motion sensor now, which seems to have been thrown in last minute. I guess it is a good thing that the rumble feature is gone since it probably would mess up the motion sensors. personally i wasn't really that big of a fan of the rumble features, when i really get into a game i barely notice it

Japanese video game magazine Ge-Maga has revealed some interesting information; Konami's Hideo Kojima, known for the Metal Gear Solid franchise, has been quoted as saying that the three consoles are like different viewing experiences, with the PS3 being the best.

"The PS3 is a movie theater. You pay 1,800 yen and view a movie with great sound and a huge image. These aren't movies that are remade directly from television, but video that's been made for the movies and everyone comes wanting that. Xbox 360 is watching a DVD at home. It's for people who want to watch a movie, but anything is okay. The Wii is a television program. You turn on the television, and you can watch soccer or watch a variety show -- enjoy a program lightly," said Kojima.

He continued, "If you think about the future of the industry and game creators, I get the feeling that the winner had better be the movie theater -- or, the PS3. No one will say that the price is cheap. However, the PS3 is 'the future.' The Wii is interesting, but in terms of functions, it's a machine with past concepts."

Kojima also had some thoughts regarding the PlayStation 3 controller: "The best thing would be a PS3 with controls like the Wii." He also pointed out that he was disappointed that the rumble feature was removed. However, when Square Enix's Tetsuya Nomura suggested that perhaps Sony could add the rumble back in later, Kojima said that Sony could include a button to switch between rumble and motion sensing, if the rumble is indeed causing interference with the motion sensing.

sidenote: it is about 100 yen to a US dollar

Yeah.. but how well do you think the motion sensors work? And.. how many games will you really be able/need to use them with?

Hm.. the article I read the other day said they had two versions.. which they originally said they didn't want to do.. and that one was about 499 USD(20GB) and the other (60GB) was like 699.. So I dunno about that Yen figure.. but.. what do I know? I know nothing about game consoles.

we'll never know until it comes out
as far as games goes it is just the designer's problem to deal with
they are given the power to use it, although it is not as amazing as the "wii" controllers which pretty much a lot if not all their games are based on its new ability of motion sensors

to be honest i'm tempted to get a "wii" just for that

oh the yen thing i'm pretty sure he is talking about a movie ticket, not the price of a ps3
and yeah, that's roughly the price for the ps3 in USD they are planning to release it at

I get the feeling it will just be a major let down.. I dunno why.. Maybe just because Kingdom Hearts 2 is turning out to be a pretty big let down at the moment.. haven't finished it.. not sure I'm going to.. Just.. getting bored with it. Meh.. But that's another story.

hey, just because kingdom hearts 2 was an awful turn out from everyone i heard that played it, doesn't mean the system itself is bad. There are plently of good and bad games for each console, but I think ps2 big let down as a console is the fact that it only had 2 players ports. Games though, i found a lot of enjoyable games on many consoles, but mainly ps2 had most of the games I liked to play with online features too. god i'm still playing MGO and RSE surprised utbreak2... sure the xbox was high on online gaming too, but gamecube didn't jump on it

I might sadly have to wait a while after it's out, it's too much for my wallet. sweatdrop

But I already have a few games that I want to get from PS3. One being Devil May Cry 4. whee
