The land is covered in a pure white snow, all save the mountain and the valley of Joahnn. Many mones and shops line the stone streets toward the castle. The castle itself is carved from pearlescent marble, set deep within the mountain, its towers emerging deep from within the granite.
Just outside the gates of the great castle is a gorgeous hanging garden, flowers of all shapes and sizes, shades and smells hanging from the running trellis, their silken petals wisked away by the occasional breeze, drifting away over the bridge over the sacred river.

The falls on either side of the mountain produce a calm mist that shrouds the castle from sight of anyone other than the citizens who know of its presence.
From the mist emerges a single person, long blonde hair sweeping past his shoulders, ruby red coat hanging from his shoulders. A great staff in hand, topped with a beautiful golden cross. His blue eyes hidden under his bangs as he looked at his kingdom. His name was Imre, the god of light, sent to protect his people.
He stood at the edge of the castles gates, overlooking the great city, set into the sacred mountains. His face was void of emotion as he walked through the streets, alone, and quite bored with his day.

Great white wings flowed down over the brilliant red robe he wore. Feathers drifting about in the wind as he paced back and forth through the streets. His boots clicking hollowly on the stone road. People passed by, bowing respectfully, shaking his hands and giving their respects.
None of this pleased him, truth was, there was a lot on his mind. War, his rival to the south, and how he was to bring an army together to protect the peace.

As he walked through the gardens, something small caught his eye. It was a book, more importantly a journal. A symbol for runology scratched into the cover. He smiles softly, lifting it to his hands to examine, and just as he did, he heard a small voice. It was younger than his, but not as strong as it should be. "Is this yours?"

A small boy, about 13 apparently, with red hair ran up to Imre and bowed before taking the book. He looked into the good king's eyes before answering "Actually, no, the book really belongs to that guy over there." The boy pointed back to the adolescent man leaning beside a nearby tree; wearing powder blue robes; his pure, gray hair and his robes swaying gently in the breeze. His eyes opened slowly when he sensed attention being drawn to him.

Imre held the book loosly in his hand, looking over to the boy and smiling, but not before kissing the child lightly on the forehead, saying his thanks before bowing slightly and walking slowly foreward with a royal air. He stopped just before the boy, his immense white wings billowing behind him, the long guiding feathers trailing the stones he walked on.

"Young man, who are you to carry this book? Such power is held within the pages, but you know that do you not?"

"Actually, only a little. My dad's a little into magic, plus... the symbol on the front kinda resembles the one on his cheek over there." Once again the young redhead directed his attention toward the robed man behind him.
By now the man had gotten up and patted his clothes lightly. He bowed and spoke calmly "good day, lord Imre, it's a pleasure to see you, sire."
As he straightened up, the grassy ground seemed to breathe with life and the swaying blades of grass became even greener and slightly taller. the yelow petals of the willow tree seemed to take on a weak glow combined with the sunlight. A pure smile graced his lips, obviously he was truly in a happy mood, and consequently his elemental power radiated into the immediate area.

Imre returned his bow, folding his wings straight behind him. His power was truly amazing for his age, hough nothing unlike the symbologists he had taught before. Imre extended his hand to the young man, speaking with his usual commanding tone. "The pleasure is all mine to see such power from someone of your age. I see youve been getting good use from this book, but, do you know where it came from young man? I would truly love to kow how you obtained a book from my sons library"

Imre wasn't one to get angered easily, so something so small as a missing book from a library that saw little use at all.

Geléne took Imre's hand in respect and shook it slowly. "Thank you for the compliment, your majesty. Before I got into runology I was as a child always interested in nature's powers and commanding them. My natural love for the elements and magic helped me to get this good so soon..."

He paused for a moment then released Imre's hand to gently take the book from the redhead who afterwards took a hort walk around to the back of the tree. "I visited the library once and offered to buy it but they only allowed me to rent it for a specific length of time, so I do every chance I get. As you can see, sire, the rune on my face shows that I'm excelling and that I particularly favor this book."

"Well then young man, you may keep it if you so see fit, under one condition, you work for me from now on. I'll provide your boarding, your food, clothes and training... so you must prove yourself as a runologist."

Imre could care less about runology books, what h cared about was providing oppertunity for talent to advance, and this young man had potential. He was good on his word, and had another affair that needed to be tended to by certian few eople, and with his abnormal powers over earth, he was positive that he was one of those chosen for the task.

"Oh, thank you, sire, it would be an honor to serve you." Geléne stated half-excitedly, trying to keep his calm. He bowed as he exclaimed before composing himself and returning his gaze to Imre.
"If it's not too much to ask, where and when can I meet you so we may further discuss these arrangements?"

He absently rose a hand and touched the rune on his face in pleasant shock. Up till now he had been unnoticed by anyone higher than his school principal. now was the opportunity of a lifetime, to serve Imre and assist the kingdom. He had dreamed of this now it was to become reality.

Imre stod silent for a short time, his wings spreading full length behind him, occupying a large space, is wingspan no less than 15 feet. He composed his thought before speaking calmly and slowly as to not have to repeat himself. "You may meet me at the castle... or simply come with me. I would first like to test some tings out... however, I must test your loyalty to me firsthand. I wouldn't want Lord Kasch getting word of my secrets.. so you have your options, now choose young man, and keep in mind, I do have tings to do."

Imre was't one to get angry, though he didn't enjoy loosing time for idle chatter. He had wasted enough time here as was, and there were things to deel with, namely the eggs that needed to be watched over.

"My options... well, I choose to undertake your tests of loyalty. After all, before a servant can serve he must prove himself loyal. I choose to follow your lead now, sire." He stated in a casual tone before letting his eyes wander and take in the beautiful sight of his lord's wings. They were amazingly clean and the feathers nearly shone in the light. Geléne's clothes began to pale in comparison to Imre's wings in how much they reflected the sun's rays.

"Wise decision my son, welcome to the family young man.. now.. come with me, we have much to discuss..." He folded his wings once more behind him, shaking out the feathers before doing so. He was so used to them being that way that he had nearly forgotten how to fly. A bird with no use for his wings will fail to reach the sky, and Imre being chained down to his country gave him absolutly no time to escape and sail through the clouds, over the mountains where he could raom the countryside in peace. It had been so long since he felt the power he held, and it saddened him, hardening his heart as he became more wrapped in his day to day duties in untiting the lands.

He turned and walked back toward the white castle in the mountain. He loved this place, but secretly wished to escape his home and live as a wanderer, though this was an impossible dream.

Geléne walked slowly, following close beside Imre when he chose to walk. a number of things began to cross the young sorcerer's mind, several relating to honor, judgement, loyalty, impending war and other topics that need not be named.

Imre stopped short of the castle gates, spreading his wings one last time, the reach truly amazing as he shook out his feathers, the muscles of his back tightening under his red cloak. He sighed half-heartedly, turning to the boy and asking one final question.

"Your name, young man, what do I call you?" He bowed slightly to the youth, knowing full well that he was in for a long task. Something most men would not survive, but even he had faith in his survival, after all, the boy had managed to surpass his greatest runologist when he was fifteen years his senior.

'My name, it's Geléne... but you may call me Gene for short, your highness." He returned the bow instinctively. His eyes settled on the castle, the place looked even more beautiful up close than he had ever seen before. He could almost assume that the entire property was assembled by gods in love. A simple and low-volume "woooooowwwww," escaped his lips as he examined everything there was that lied ahead of him. Geléne knew that he was going to live a prosperous life here if he was indeed going to live in the castle.
