 Through life you always regret things that you have never said or things that you never had the chance to do. Matt is one of these guys that is regretting things that he should have done. Matt had the perfect life, he was married and his wife was pregnant with their baby boy and things were working out perfectly. The only draw back to this is that Matt and his friends robbed stores to keep the money on the table.
The one day that Valery pleeded Matt not to go out he did and he was caught. It was played over national telivision that he had been caught and what was Val to do.. Matt was in prision and she was alone to have a baby and raise it on her own.
After a visit to the prison and a heated conversation with Matt, Valery was hit in an accident. It killed her but they were able to save the baby. Matt's friend Brian took it upon himself to raise the child until Matt was out of prision. Now he has his two year old son Jake in his custody and four great friends but will he be able to pick up the pieces and seize the day to make a new life for himself.

Personality: Matt used to be outspoken and now he is rather quiet. He shows more outwards feelings to all his friends now because he is scared that he might lose them.

Bio: Matt grew up with the love of his life. After robbing a store he was tossed into prision and his wife was angry with him. How was she to raise their baby on her own. After a tragic car accident Matt lost the love of his life but they were able to save the baby, a boy that his frined had named Matthew Jacob Sanders. Now that he is out of prision he is trying to paste his life back together again a little at a time.
Other: He is making sure that he does things right with Jacob and won't let Jake out of his sight at all.

Bio: Jacob is Matt's only son, the only thing that he has left to hold himself to his past. Jake grew up with Brian because Matt was in jail and now that he is out on probation Jake is staying with him.

Bio: Brian was always the one that scouted the right store and he was great and knowing when the cops would show up but the one time he screwd things up they had all gotten to the car but Matt.. the only one that had anything at home to go for. He still feels bad about it so when the car accident took Val from Matt Brian did the only thing he could he took care of Jacob.
Other: Brian thinks that Matt blames him a little so he seems a little distant from his good friend, and now he owns and runs his own bar with the help of Zacky.

Bio: Zacky was the loud mouth until the robberys and then he was silent and carried a bat that he would break the register open with. He was quick enough to be the second person in the car but he felt bad about having to leave Matt behind.

Personality: Jimmy is the brains of everything. He thinks out the plans and makes sure that they go according to how they are supposed to. He is very intellegent, but he is a drinker. He tends to come off a little flirty when he drinks but then again who doesn't.

Bio: Jimmy had been frineds with the other guys and when their last robbery ended up with one of them in jail he vowed then never to say a word about it and never go back to robbing. Though all he ever did when they robbed was drive the car that let them get away. He has then since been working for a company that pays him to work on their computers.
Other: Jimmy and Matt have been best friends since childhood.

Personality: Johnny is the quiet one that doens't say much at all infront of people he doesn't know. At the bars Johnny won't talk unles spoken too first. He is new to the drinking world and he loves to drink.

Bio: Johnny was the one that got the cash into the bag and then ran for it. Everyone had their place in the team and him being the youngest and the smallest member he was able to escape easily and was always the first one to the car.

Personality: Michelle is the wild type that knows when to turn it off and after her sisters death it turned off or a while until she was back to her old self. She has never completely gotten over Val's death, she just knows how to surpress it. The death of her sister made her realize how short life was and how in an instant she and Brian could be spilt apart. She's friendly to everyone unless you give her a reason, like hitting on her boyfriend.

What was it like to be a free man? Matt knew the answer to that.. after being back to his life, it sucked. He had missed the first two years of his sons life and missed his wife's funeral. He wished he could have taken that day back and stayed with her when she begged him too.
He lay awake on Brian's couch thinking over everything that had happened since he was put behind bars. He never told police who helped him and he was glad his friends were smart enought to stop robbing then becuase if they would have kept going the cops would have got them.
With a heavy sigh he turned over and tried to close his hazel eyes and go back to sleep but he just couldn't stop thinking about her. He missed her.. he loved her and he wanted her back but because he was an a** he wouldn't ever see her again.
"If only I'd stayed home.. she would have never gotten into that car to come see me in jail, we wouldn't have fought, she wouldn't have been killed.. I would have got to watch Jacob grow up," Matt said as tears came from his eyes. The water slid down his cheeks making streeks as they did.
He sat back up and placed his feet on the floor, his elbows on his knees and his head in his hands. It was then for the first time in his life that he could ever remember that he cried like that. It wasn't just a soft cry it was a blubbering cry that shook his body and made him feel weak. He covered his face with his hands and tried to keep himself quiet but it didn't work because he could hear Brian stirring.
Matt did everything he could to keep the tears from falling but now that they have started he didn't think they would stop for awhile. His whole body shook with each sob and he just accepted the fact that he was going to cry all night long. He heard Brian enter the room but he knew that his friend wasn't quite sure what to do about him anyway.
Slowly Brian made his way to the couch and he gently patted Matt's back and rubbed on it telling him that it was okay to cry. He knew that Matt was upset about losing Val but everyone was. Bri just hoped that he didn't wake Jake. The boy was just getting used to Matt and Brian didn't want to have to go tuck him in again. He sighed softly when he realized that Matt was still sobbing hard and he made his way to the kitchen sighing softly as he did.
Matt knew that he was a burden. He wouldn't doubt that but what was he supposed to do? He had no life left.. the only then he had was the clothes on his back and a two year old that he didn't know how to take care of.
"I'm so sorry baby.. I should have been better.. I know and I'm sorry," Matt thought as he cried. He couldn't help but cry.. he had nothing left.
The crying lasted for almost two hours and finally he just layed down and cried and eventually cried himself to sleep. Brian made his way back to the couch when Matt was asleep. He sighed softly and layed a blanket over his friend before going back to his own room.
Brian knew that all of this was his fault. If he just would have let Matt stay home that day Val would still be alive and Matt would have been there for the first years of his sons life instead of Brian. With a heavy sigh Bri flopped back onto his bed shutting his brown eyes and thinking over the past two years and how things could have been different before he fell asleep.

Matt woke early the next morning still crying. His heart sank when he realized that everything was still real and she was really gone. He sighed heavily as he sat up leaning back into the couch trying to figure out how he was going to live his life now.. without her.
Valery had been his life for so long and now he was without her because he decided he needed to go rob with his friends. Yeah they needed the money but not that bad. He should have just stayed home and the thought of that haunted him. All of this was his fault and there was nothing he could do about it.
"This can't be happening," he said as he opened his hazel eyes and stared up at the cecling. His eyes began to leek tears again and he tried to suck it up but he couldn't. He never did that in prision but then there were too many people watching him and he didn't feel safe there. In Brian's apartment he felt safe.. he had to feel safe.
Matt leaned forward again and put his face back in his hand allowing himself to sob again.
Brian shifted in his bed and opened his brown eyes as the light came in his window. He remembered being awake late the night before because Matt was upset but there wasn't anything he could do but sit by and let the man cry.
With a sigh Brian heaved himself out of bed and looked around his small room. His girlfriend had been staying with her parents lately and he hadn't seen her in a few nights but all was well.
When he opened the door to his room he could hear Matt crying again but there wasn't anything he felt good about saying. Slowly he made his way into the living room and sat down next to Matt. "Everything will be okay. You'll get through this.. you always pull through everything.. you are the one and only Shadows."
Brian shuddered as Matt looked up at him with fire in his hazel eyes. "Don't you ever call me that again," he growled. Bri couldn't figure out what he did wrong and then he remembered when they robbed a store Matt when by Shaodws, Brian went by Synyster, Zacky by Vengeance, Jimmy by Rev, and Johnny by Christ. It was just something of the past that Matt was trying to leave behind.
Brian pulled away from his friend and headed for the kitchen. "I'll make you some breakfast.. what do you want?"
Matt's hazel eyes looked at Bri for a moment and he shrugged. "I don't want anything," he replied before a call from Jacob made Matt get to his feet and go back to get his boy.
Brian paused in the kitchen for a moment and picked up his cell phone. He unpluged it from its charger and diled Zacky's number. "Please be home." he said softly as he waited for his friend to pick up.

Zacky laid in his bed well into the morning sweetly dreaming of a pretty girl he had seen at the bar the other night. He was still deep in sleep when he heard his cell phone suddenly ring loudly. Startled he rolled over quickly falling off his bed and hitting his head on the night stand by his bed.
He cursed as he felt on his night stand for his phone. He squinted at it with sleepy eyes. Seeing it was Brain he flipped the phone open and said in a whiney voice, "What do you want?"

Brian sighed as he leaned against the counter hearing Zacky pick up with a whiny voice made him laugh softly. "Hey Zack.. look I have Matt here at my apartment.. he is in shambles.. we might need you around today," Brian said with a worried tone and he heard a muffled Matt from Jacobs room.
"I didn't think that he could cry and now I know he can.. he does it very well. I think he kept things about Val bottled away until he broke down.. I'm glad to have him back but I'm worried about him."

Zacky pushed himself up so he was leaning against the night stand. He rubbed his injured head as he listened to Brain. "Hopefully I'm not too brain damaged to find my way there..." Zachy mumbled. Yawning he said, "Fear not, for I shall get there one way or another...I think I shall get dressed first though." He looked down at his socks and black boxers with smiley faces on them. "Unless of course you think me being half dressed would help anything..."

Brian sighed softly and shook his head. "You know.. I'm not sure what would happen if you came over half dressed but I doubt it would change anything." Bri responded as he watched Matt walking down the hall holding Jacob. "Look.. just get over here.. I got to go. Matt doesn't need to know I'm rounding up the guys."
