Muppet Treasure Island kicks some freaking booty. And I LOVE Gina Davis as a pirate captain in Cutthroat Island. <3 I tried watching Ice Pirates (it's a scifi movie from the late 70's/early80's or so) with Angelica Houston but I just couldn't get into it. I'll try watching that one with some friends while we're stoned. xd Then it might be funnier.

Ice Pirates is kinda funny in a sort of 'bad movie' way ^_^ My parents took us kids as a family day at the theater... we walked out. LOL It's pretty crude I love Muppet Treasure Island! ^_^ Tim Curry is so great I forgot about Cutthroat Island- I love Geena Davis! heart

I definitely couldn't suffer through it sober. xd Space Balls is one thing, but Ice Pirates just... eh.. I dunno. lol One day I'll sit through it. (I've never walked out of a movie before. I figure that if I pay almost 10 dollars to see it, I might as well get my money's worth. lol)
Tim Curry is the freaking secks. I blame my years of gothness on him playing "Darkness" in Legend. I watched that movie at age 7, and since then I've had a total thing for villains. His voice is just mmmmmmm. (And the glittery hooves were hawt.)

I love Muppet Treasure Island. Sometimes I wish I was Miss Piggy...
Was Cutthroat Island the one with that naughty monkey that kept watching Geena undress?

I think the monkey's name was King George. xd He didn't obey his Captain until he was almost killed by the mutinous pirates onboard. At the end, he saluted her. It was cute.
Another great pirate movie - PETER PAN! The one that came out a few years ago in December (I think it opened on Christmas day or something)... freaking RAWKED. I've loved Peter Pan since I was 6, when my mom took me to see the play with Cathy Rigby (it was a musical version). .. it was the first year she was playing Peter Pan. And I just saw her in her last year of playing Peter Pan, for my 22nd birthday. <3 Huzzah.
Anyway... freaking Captain Hook is GORGEOUS in this film version. Jason Isaacs is by far my favorite villain actor, and he made a positively delious Hook.
I'd walk his plank any day. pirate

Eyes-- as blue as forget-me-nots...I just HAD to link this here because it sooooooooooo looks like Jason Issacs of PETER PAN (mentioned two posts previous ^_^) I agree, that film was by far my favorite of the genre (yes I feel Peter Pan has its own genre) I fell in love very early on as well with Peter Pan but with the Disney animated version ^_^ (I've always had an affinity for red hair) The typical romantic views are of Wendy and Peter but really I always wanted to be Tink. mrgreen In that recent film Peter Pan, I think that Tink was the best ever also.

I rather like the opening scenes of Starwars: ROTS. how all the starships were firing broadside attacks with cannon-like lasers. it was very much like a a pair of sea vessels firing upon eachother. :3

Pirate movies hm? I liked Sinbad, though I can't remember if it was a pirate movie. Peter pan is good. You have to like 'ole captain hook. I also liked the movie Hook when I was a kid. POTC of course was avery well done.
Hm... I think those are the ony ones that I can remember at the moment.
