Okay, throughout the game when I was playing, I always assumed that Vivi was, in fact, male...but after I heard a few things, I've started to quetion myself...okay guys, what do you think based upon his/her character, NOT upon how others in the game refer to him/her..."Vivi? HE went.." no, none of those pronouns...Okay, GO!

I've stuck with the fact that he is a male. No particular reason, it's just I've been lead to believe that for some time now.
But I think you should play KH2 to find out. Apparently he has a voice but I wouldn't know because it doesn't get released in Oz until November or so.
Vivi could be a male or a female but after reading that no one actually said "he" or "she" (or whatever) I might have to start it up again and find out. Great, thanks alot, now I won't sleep for days because of this. THANKS!!! xd lol

I might be flying out there next summer...but its a long shot...OoO, this is very off topic, but do you listen to Triple J? Have you heard of Tripod? Anyways, just making myself clear; in the game it always refers to Vivi as 'he', so you don't need to go back and look. I've just always found it hard for a black mage created from mist to actually have a gender...so, I was curious as what others thought he might be... sweatdrop

If Vivi is in fact a girl she is a Lesbian. Because at one part I beleive Zidane and him discuss him getting a date with Garnet. And as far as we've seen from square its highly unlikeley that they added a homosexual character, they prefer destiny couple boy on girls (if you haven't noticed).
And besides, It doesn't matter to me if Vivi was a girl because He's still one of my favorite characters!

It is infact played by a girl I beleive (if not its quite feminine) But that doesn't really determine his gender...after all look at all the other feminine square lackys out there. *looks at Clouds hips*

I never thought about but I think Vivi is a guy........ But I guess I never thought about it because I never played IX and I only know Vivi though KHII

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned that thing at the end of the game yet. With the Vivi clone saying "I'm Vivi's son!" though he and the other Vivi's could have been manufactured like Vivi was and later adopted by Vivi. Or you could take as like... Black Mages are like dogs so they have litters of five chibi black mages!! XD I always thought that Vivi was a guy though, especially after that little scene in Madain Sari between Vivi and Zidane.

Young Link's voice from Legend of Zelda is also done by a female, while Link is clearly male xd it happens more often! Just a sidenote; could Vivi represent all of the teenagers in the world that try to fit in? I mean, look, he's shy around people, people only see his cute clothes, and he is in a constant battle (literally and metaphorically). i'm prety sure the scene in madain sari where zidane and vivi go prety much clears it up myself cause... whould vzidane do that if vivi was a girl? he might, but still, that would be kinda grose lol
and vivi is in KHII?!?!?!?! NOW I HAVE TO PLAY IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
