A. It is a MMORPG, which is a Major Multiplayer Online Role playing game.
You will be able to catch wild pokemon and explore new regions on an exciting new quest.But the catch is that this isn’t the normal fan made pokemon game. You will be able to do all this with people from around the world who are also interested in the
Pokemon world!

Q.What sort of gameplay engine will Pokemon den of Ages run on?
A. The Pokemon Den of ages system will work just like the gameboy games. Other games fall short of re-creating this experience such as making you point and click at areas and teleporting you there without showing any form of animation. Or only allowing you to battle premade pokemon instead of allowing you to raise and nurture your own.Pokemon Den of Ages will be just as if you are working a pokemon gameboy game from your P.C! Arrow keys to move shift to run and Full fledged animation! That’s just a sample of what you will be noticing in this awesome new MMORPG created by Silver and the other staff members.

A. A whole brand new region (created by the staff of our Mappers) with new routes paths and Gym leaders to work your way through. All while developing friends Rivals and achieving a Title for yourself as the worlds greatest pokemon master, or if that doesn’t fit your taste you can even test your skill as a certified pokemon breeder. Being able to bread rare and exotic pokemon. The Brand New region is known as Naiyo.

Q.What are Mappers exactly?
A. Mappers are the select few who design the brand new Routes, Gyms, Paths, and basically everything that will be surrounding you in this new game. They work building the lushes grass the pokemon survive in from the Baby blue sky you will be soaring through on your flying Pokemon.

Q. When will this game initiate its Beta release?
A. Answered in the Versions information of the FAQ. The beta begins at version 3.0.

Q. What will be our choice of Pokemon to start with?
A. You will be able to pick from the three pokemon Squirtle, Bulbasuar or Charmander from the regions professer, Professor Maple(FEMALE!)
Below are small blurbs on each Pokemon to help you make the correct and efficient pokemon Choice, although if you join the Beta now you will be able to start over and pick from nine starters, Feturing Chikorita,Totidile,Cyndiquiall,Torchic,Mudkip or treeko so hurry up and sign up for the game if you want one of the other pokemon on the list.
Squirtle- Squirtle are small, bipedal, blue turtles with brown shells and distinctive clublike tails. Shortly after birth, their backs swell and harden to make them more resilient towards attacks, most objects will bounce right off a Squirtle’s shell when force is applied. The shell’s rounded shape and the grooves on its surface also allow Squirtle to swim at high speeds with minimal resistance. When feeling threatened, Squirtle withdraw their limbs and their long necks into their shells and spray water from their mouth with great force, either to attack their opponent or merely to intimidate it. This ability is also used to stun prey while hunting.
Bulbasuar- Each Bulbasaur has a seed planted on its back at birth, which soon grows into a large floral bulb as it matures. The bulb can absorb solar energy through photosynthesis in order to supply the Bulbasaur with nutrients and will grow bigger if it is exposed to sunlight; for this reason, Bulbasaur enjoy taking naps in the sunlit daytime. They can survive on the stored energy without eating for days at a time. When in battle, solar energy that has been stored in the bulb can be released as a powerful Solar Beam attack. The bulb also holds seeds that can be launched at an enemy in order to sap its health in an attack called Leech Seed, and Bulbasaur are able to extend two vines from the bulb that serve as extra appendages for attacking and deftly manipulating objects.
Charmander- Charmander is a small bipedal lizard, its fire characteristics emphasised in its fiery red-orange skin. Charmander, like its evolved forms Charmeleon and Charizard, has a flame on the tip of its tail. The intensity of the flame can be taken as an indicator of Charmander’s physical and emotional status. When the flame’s intensity is diminished, it is weak and its health may be at risk. When the flame burns normally, Charmander is healthy, and it can be seen to waver when Charmander is happy, and blaze fiercely when it becomes enraged. If the flame were to ever go out, it would mean the end of Charmander’s life.

A: Going by the forum’s basic rules, I would say some of the rules include No Hacking, No Cursing, No spamming and No cheating.

A. Legendaries are Pokemon that are extremely rare that before it was tales of previous generations. But due to the dedication of researches, proof of thier existence has been found. Examples of these hard to find Pokemon are Mew,Mewtwo, Deoxys, Latias, Latios.

A: Depending on your firewall, you must do the following:
1. If it automatically pops up asking for permission to access the internet, then press allow. If your firewall does not ask for permission for files, go to step 2.

3. When it asks you what control you want to have over traffic. Choose allow all or enter the specific ports needed for the game.

A: Yes, You can start a battle by finding the player through the phone/email system and then clicking on them to begin a battle.

A: Yes, you will be able to decline a battle from another player, as for the NPCs (the Computer controlled players) you will have to approach them for a battle, they will not auto-activate like the Gameboy games.

A. Yes there is indeed 8 original Gym leaders for Pokemon den of ages, the badges they hand out however are not the sole base of the game, It is completely optional if you wish to pick up a badge or not. They are purely added in as a trinket you can show off to friends and Rivals. The Badges are just for decoration.

A: No, as the badges are just for Decorations, there is no point to having the Pokemon League.

A. Both players's sprites will like "Disappear" allowing for normal movement. When the battle's over, the winner will reappear where they started battling, the loser will reappear at a pokemon center.

A. The exciting Pokemon tournaments can be held in two ways, officially and fan made
The prizes in an official pokemon battle tournament can be from money all the way to a rare shiny pokemon. While you never know what will be given out in fan Tournaments

A: For official tournaments, you will be able to sign up by emailing the GM hosting the event. For fan made, there will probably be a topic posted in the battle forum.

A: The Exp rate for the Pokemon will depend on their stats related to Agility, Speedy, beauty and can be improved by winning contests and feeding your Pokemon berry treats.

Q: How will battling affect experience gain and leveling?
A: et's say your pokemon needs 50 more EXP to level to level 15. You battle a trainer and that trainer has two pokemon. You knock out one of his pokemon and you gain 100 EXP. You'll gain 1 Pending Level and 50 Pending EXP. You KO the other pokemon and get 100 more EXP, you'll get 100 more Pending EXP.
After the battle is done, you gain the Pending EXP and level.
You will never be able to gain exp durring a battle. You'll never be able to gain levels durring a battle. After the battle is done, then the pending exp is added and and pending levels you have will be added.
If you lose a battle and your pokemon has Pending EXP, you'll still gain that pending exp.
This is to prevent accusations by players saying that you only one because your Pokemon leveled up in the middle of Battle.

Q. What about Pokegear?
A. The scientists down at Silph Co. Decided to upgrade their Pokegear hardware. And with a hardware upgrade, they of course made the software a lot better. They were able to make it so that you could store up to 250 numbers. Yes, 250. All yours. No undeletable numbers. They also took one of their prototype Pokedexs and replicated its hardware and was able to make the Pokedex work on the Pokegear. Now, the Pokegear can double up as a Pokedex. Nifty, no? A little piece of software also allows for the Pokegear to check on the condition of your Pokemon and also manages the contents in your bag. The Pokegear also keeps track of time, down to the precise second. Also, the Pokegear can display the Naiyo Region map. That’s useful. Also, you can send email to other trainers via Pokegear. Trainers can store up to 500 message in any mailbox they choose. Now, the Pokegear is truly an essential tool for any Pokemon trainer.

A. 14. Pokemon that can be stored in each? 30. That's 420 pokemon. Also, you can store up to 50 items in the PC box thingies.

A. Yes there will be, the evil Ages gang otherwise known as Team ages they want the Fossil Pokemon because they're rare, exclusive, and can be very powerful.

A: By helping out Team Ages as you will receive fossils as payment or by fighting higher level trainers within Team Ages to receive them as a reward.

A: Yes, Pokemon will be able to breed in this game, allowing for multiple ways to gather all of the Pokemon and to trade with others.

A: These are various items that are thrown on the ground or lost items from NPCs.

A: You could but that would be exploiting the system and could lead to be banned from the game.

A: By bringing your Pokemon to a breeding ground. But to breed the rarer Pokemon, you must bring them to a Certified Pokemon Breeder at the Breeding ground.s

Q: Can I become a Pokemon Breeder?
A: Yes, You can become a Pokemon Breeder, that is one of the jobs/titles that will be featured in Pokemon Den of Ages.

Q: What are the types of Quests?
A: You have a Rating. This rating starts off at 0. Zero Is nuetral.
Quests can be one of three things. Good quests(ie help lady with delivery), nuetral quests(ie go battle trainer in tournament), and evil quests(ie steal a pokeball from the pokemart).
Let's say you have a rating of 0 and you did a good quest. Depending on how hard we make the quest, you'll be rewarded with good quest points. Let's say you got 3. Your rating goes from 0 to 3, and you're a good guy now since your rating is in the positive. If you're a good guy, as you get more quest points you're actual rank will change.(ie, if you have 100 rating, your rank will be 'hero')
Now, let's say you did an evil quest like.. You helped team ages evacuate a fossil. You get evil points! Let's say you had a rating of 3. The evil points does -2. You have 1 rating. You dropped your rating, but you're still good.
Let's say you were at -5 and you did a nuetral quest. Nuetral quests give + or - points depending on what your rating is. If you did a nuetral quest and you're at -4, the neutral quest would give you +2, you're at -2. If you're at 4, the neutral quest will get you -2. The neutral quests don't add or remove anything if you are at 0. The point of nuetral quests is to get your rating to nuetrality.

Q: Can Pokemon disobey?
A: Yes and the way to prevent that is to take specific quests that will give you the ability to control Pokemon to a certain level.
As for controling Pokemon, to make a game like this balanced, you will need to do certain quests to be able to control pokemon up to level
Reason being, someone with a nice friend irl could start off with one his uber pokemon, giving an unfair advantage.
Also, Pokemon will disobey you COMPLETELY if you don't have the right quest done. None of that it might attack.

A: As of Alpha version 2.4.1, you can walk around the world, you can enter about every building, you can see all of the maps that are not blocked off by obstacles that will be moveable later on and you can chat with others.
