A place for people to post some of their poems. Here's a rather silly one of mine. My teacher said it was good though...oh well:
I, a famed writer. I have made stories to intrigue you, To shock you, Perhaps astonish you. My life is littered with miseries, And disappointment. A dead father, a dead mother, And a love buried long ago. Called a drunk, a genius, An author. Dark, gloomy, Dismayed and miserable. Wandered upon a city, A place built from the ocean. I’ve met a boy and, Created a story. Mysteries have I unraveled, Women I’ve courted. Troubles I came across, And bottles have claimed me. I, now dead as well, Came back to the earth, Long ago. Can you guess my name? Have you forgotten me? Pray, tell me, That you know. ‘Tis I, Edgar Allan Poe!

And another one...but it's a riddle. I love writing riddles!
Many hear me everyday, I, invented to entertain. Whether I provoke your urge to laugh, to cry, to roar with fury, I finger world with my voices. I have flown through centuries, seen ancient Greece, Egypt and China. Nobody knows time as well as I, the bringer of songs. People have made me through earth, from the lack of fun, to chase away the boredom, and let joy take its place. Thump thump, tap, tap, plink, plink, chimi-i-ng! Purchase a paper to see me. Turn a knob to hear me, press a button to feel me, or open your mouth to free me. My name? Guess.

Pretty good, but you do not need that much Punctuation in poems. You rarly need put any at all.

"Really? I was just telling the reader when to pause and when to stop. My teacher said, quote, 'Punctuation is a necessity in a poem.'"

Aly Stormfleet "Really? I was just telling the reader when to pause and when to stop. My teacher said, quote, 'Punctuation is a necessity in a poem.'" Well most of poems I read by proffessionals. Had very little punctuation at all. Plus that is way I was taught by my english teachers. Does not need alot punctuation or does not always have to a rythem either. Maybe your teacher just want you get habiat of punctuatioing. Like I said before, I have not seen many poems with alot punctuation in it. I am pretty sure, periods are unessary in poems.
