So I've been looking around, and I happened to purchase a copy of Brain Age for the Nintendo DS
Now most people might shy away from this game because it lacks the action of Halo, and there is no real story
HOWEVER! Brain Age is still a fun game with plenty to offer
Even if the idea of calculating problems and connecting dots to numbers doesn't thrill you(I didn't think it would at first either), it's still fun. I enjoyed it, and even the rest of my family(who have no talent for gaming) have had fun with Brain Age
The floating head of nuerologist Ryuta Kawashima is your guide and assistant through Brain Age.
Brain Age offers several different activities, most of which utilize the touch screen to write down numbers, trace a line through a maze of letters and numbers, and the microphone is even used in a color identification test
The game requires next to no time to play. You can pick it up for just five minutes, or you could be playing for an hour
Brain Age quizzes you on various subjects, and tests your mental might to find your brain age which can range from twenty and up. The younger your brain, the smater you are.
As you progress, more options are opened up to help you train your brain. If that doesn't bring you back, the challenge of improving your brain age should!
Did I mention that it includes Sudoku puzzles as well?
For a title priced at $19.95 down at the local target, Brain Age is well worth the price. In fact, it could be the best twenty dollars you spend this summer
Overall, Brain Age makes excellent use of all of the DS' features and is a refreshing game to play in your spare time. It's a new fresh idea for an industry crammed with the same games about the same stuff. If you've run out of games to play, then pick this up!
Final Score: 5 out of 5
