The School, The World, The Culture

Welcome, one and all, to Catori Shrine College. It's a normal school with normal classes, in a not-so-normal world. The people here hold very firmly to religion and old superstitions, most likely due to the presence of the creatures that everyone recieves from the sacred forest rings around which many schools are built. Catori Shrine is one of these schools, and it is divided into four dorms: Earth Dorm, Wind Dorm, Fire Dorm, Water Dorm. The buildings are set in a circular pattern around the forest, with Earth Dorm in the north, Wind Dorm in the east, Fire Dorm in the south, and Water Dorm in the west. Between the dorms are the eight departments of education: Creatures, Science, English, Math, Arts, Cooking/Home Ec, P.E., and History/Religion, with two buildings each in the space between the dorms. Off to the sides are the Rec Room/Library, Gymnasium, Auditorium, and then the Trolley Station and the Administrative Offices.





The culture of the people in this world is one of myth and legend. There are hundreds of stories that everyone knows and often believes in. Also, it is considered formal to address someone by their first name, and surnames are important only as a means of identification. Therefore, you can address a teacher by their first name, and an honorific, such as Mr. or Ms. , or just call them by their name simply.

Important: This RP does not take place in the world we know. It is a different place with different things. So, please do not make references to any countries, popular culture, or anything that we would be familiar with.

Name: Cyrille Maddox
Year: 1
Personality: Cyrille's very blatantly intelligent, obsessive, and judgemental. However, she's not necessarily mean or elitist, and she's very generous with her time. If you ask a favor of her, she'll most likely do it if you're her friend, and you probably ARE her friend, because she's very popular. In general, she's friendly and polite to everyone, but if you set off her temper, prepare for the wrath of the gods.
Appearance: Cyrille is Bell's identical twin, and as such, they both have red hair and somewhat beady black eyes. However, Cyrille is leaner than Bell, and her hair is most likely fluffier and shinier. She doesn't enjoy wearing makeup, though, and sports fashionable blue-framed glasses. Besides that, she tends to wear fitted white T-shirts and whatever blue jeans are in style at the time.

Name: Arabella Maddox (aka Bell)
Year: 1
Personality: She is sweet and cares very little for others opinion on her. She smiles a lot and is often seen reading or acting. She is nice to most everyone but can be very blunt. She only has one real friend and doesn't really mind, after all, you only really need one true friend.
Appearance: Bright red hair that is mostly swept up into a messy pony tail. The front part of her hair is loose in her face most of the time and dyed a bright green. She doesn't mind wearing make up but didn't make a habit of it.

Personal History: Cyrille and Bell have been subjected to teasing about a legend in their world of a good twin and a bad twin. Year: Two
Personality: Eliza enjoys chasing butterflies, blowing bubbles, and singing in the rain. She likes singing in the sunshine too. And in the clouds. And in the partly sunny. She enjoys life, and is quick to laugh and quicker to smile. Don't mistake her for a bubblebrained ditz who's happy only because she doesn't know better, though. Eliza's got a fair amount of intelligence and common sense.
Appearance: Eliza's on the taller end of average, with a slender build and blue eyes.
Her long brown hair is braided into pigtails. No, she doesn't care that that could be considered a childish hairstyle. She very much likes vivid colors, especially yellows, pinks, purples, and greens, and long flowy, floaty skirts.

Personal History: Grew up the child of a normal family, went to normal schools, this is her second year at the college.

Name: Allen Kidd
Year: 2
Personality: HE IS A BIG DORK. He's the sort of guy who will pop up out of nowhere and be like. Yarr! And you're like. "Um..." Yeah. Sort of like that. Essentially, he's off his rocker, but he's really very nice. If you get over how friggin'. Annoying. He is. ...And did I mention he's got a huge ego?
Appearance: Allen is tall and incredibly freckly; he looks suntanned. He has fuzzy blonde hair, and a large stupid grin. His eyes are a deep blue, and they TWINKLE WITH THE FIRE OF A THOUSAND STARS. Well, or that's how he would describe them, most likely.

Animal: A mouse, that he has lovingly named "Victory." Such a dork.
Personal History: Although he seems to be a very happy guy, Allen has never really had any friends. Ever. His parents moved around a lot when he was small, so he never really learned how to maintain a relationship of any kind with anyone. However, he's pretty lonely. Do you notice? No, you don't, you insensitive b*****d.
Favorite subject: Home Economics. ...And P.E. ... He finds Samantha hot.

Name: Diamonte St. John
Year: 4
Personality: He is very friendly, the type who will most likely try to be your friend until/unless you piss him off. He likes to have fun and is very easygoing. He WILL pull pranks without hesitation. That's not to say they won't be absolutely stupid and most likely do no major damage, but he will do them. You have been warned. He's really sweet aside from that occassional devil-streak, though.
Appearance: About 6'4, and has an average build because he dislikes athletics unless it's swimming, so he's got a swimmer's body. He has midnight black hair with yellow-gold eyes and he has a pale complexion. He's really quite handsome.

Personal History: He grew up with a somewhat dysfunctional family. His father was always away and his mother was very loosy-goosy when it came to caring for him. When his father was home, it was awkward for the entire family. See? Somewhat dysfunctional. Despite the upbringing though, he turned out okay! ^__^ He is also very musically-inclined, he plays the piano, violin, guitar, and he sings.

Name: Devon Fitzgerald
Year: 1
Personality: Laid back most of the time, known to freak out when faced with any kind of obstacle. Normally this manifests itself in a positive way like a burst of energy. When it is very serious it manifests as abject panic.
Appearance: Blazing red hair cropped short so it sticks out in every direction. His face is covered in freckles and blue eyes peer from beneath pointed eyebrows. (this is not some anime reference, my eyebrows actually do that. They have points like the villains in old movies.) Slight of build and remarkably non-athletic he despises P.E. He normally wears a battered gray shirt and jeans over old sneakers.

Animal: A huge Marten, approximately 5 feet in length.
Personal History: He lived with his mother and father in Englad before they sent him to the University (thing?). He had a mostly happy childhood with no real trauma other than his aunt dying in a plane crash, this has left him terrified of heights. He never really sees his siblings as they are all older than him by at least 8 years being either from his mother or fathers side before their divorces and subsequent remarrige to one another.

Personality: Shy and timid like a deer, Evelyn tends to be more on the quiet side of things. She loves to just sit and scribble in her journal. She gets embarrassed easily, so she usually has a pale blush across her cheeks. Very shy and nervous around the opposite gender, but she is looking to change that...hopefully.

Name: Philomela Dierdre (prefers to be called Mel or Mela)
Year: 3
Personality: Perhaps one of the friendliest people around, it is a pity that she tends to also be shy. However, when she opens up, she is an extremely agreeable and nice person. The only thing she dislikes is hatred. Beneath this kindness, lies her own ambitions, which drive her in everything she does. Though she is nice, she also has a tendency towards jealousy and can sometimes be slightly full of herself. This would imply that she is extremely self-assured, but is actually not very sure of her image. In general, she puts up a gregarious front so as to hide such insecurities.

In school, she tends to wear simple colors and styles, sticking mostly to jeans. She's a big fan of wooly sweaters, and often wears turtlenecks in the colder months. In summer she is more likely to wear simple sundresses, bermuda shorts and simple, knee to floor length skirts, sometimes striped. On the occassion that she should go swimming, she confines herself to average one-piece bathing suits. She never wears flashy colors, sticking with pastels and solid colors, with stripes as the only patterns she sports.

Personal History: She has worked exremely hard to get where she is. THough she is not exactly the star student, she is a very talented writer and tends to work very well in her more arts oriented classes. Also, she has participated in as many of the plays put on as possible, and is currently working on a three-act drama that she hopes will be performed before she leaves Catori Shrine. Her parents did not support her love of writing, and she has worked hard to prove that she is of worth in that regard, but still has a long ways to go.

Name: Leigh Evans
Year: 2
Personality: Thoughtful, but slightly short tempered, can be Flirtatious.
Appearance: Long deep blue hair, her eyes are the color of steel, linded with dark long lashes. She has a scar cutting down the right corner of her bottom lip. She is quite fair skined.
Birthday: October 31
Element: Earth
Animal: A Platypus named Chime. She is rather shy, and can also be short tempered. She is a deep chocolate color, with bright blue eyes. It clings to her legs most of the time. Chime will attak if she feels that Leigh is in trouble. She sleeps in a nestled in the tunnel she creates out of the blankets on Leighs bed.
Personal History: She'd rather not talk about it. Not that it's anything bad, just kinda boring to her.
Favorite subject: The one with the hot teacher, thank you.

Name: Elizabeth "Trixy" Le' Claire
Year: 3
Personality: She is a fun person. She is often known for using dice for making up her mind, and turning tricks. Because she turns tricks she earned her nick name Trixy. She can be a flirt, when it's too her advantage.
Appearance: Trixy has light blonde hair, bright blue eyes, and dark full lashes. Her hair has a gentle curl to it, and it reaches down to her mid back. She is easy to smile, but there is always a mystory behind it.
Her ears are pirced four times. A ring circles the top of her ears, and in the second holes, are a set of dice. In the very bottom holes she wears dangles. On the left dangling is a heart and spade, on the right a diamond and club.
Her comfortable dressing is a tight tank tops or short sleave shirt that shows her belly button (which is pirced), and loose pants with lots of pokets that contain her gambling nic nacks. On the bottom of her pants are two huge pockets that her ferret will from time to time jump in.

Animal: A white ferret that hops around everywhere. Anything Trixy can't get into he can. His name is Diamond.
Personal History: Her parents were gone most of the time on buisness, and that left her home alone a lot. She doesn't mind though. At night as a kid she would travel around with the city scum, and learn how to cheat, steal and lie, but never to get caught.
Favorite subject: Totally the Arts. She loves Kyriaki, and her racoon, and wishes she could in Earth, like her big brother.

Name: Johnathan Le' Claire. Or, more simply put, John.
Year: 4
Personality: Oh god. XD How the hell is ANYONE supposed to explain HIM?! He's...fun. Johnny is a ******** psychopath. He's a total daredevil, he's willing to try ANYTHING once. Unless it has something to do with needles. He's deathly afraid of them. He is VERY flexible. Like, so flexible he makes Luffy of One Piece jealous. Okay, so maybe he isn't THAT stretchy, but his sister swears he's like triple jointed EVERYWHERE. One wouldn't be surprised if they walked into the library and found him sitting in the splits reading some huge book. Or a headstand. Or a handstand. Or a backbend. Or something annoying, I'm sure.
He's very much like a cat. He just plops anywhere he feels like, regardless of if it's RIGHT IN THE WAY or not, but he's so damn cuddly you can't be mad at him. =3
His quirky personality will shine through more and more as you get to know him. Um...yeah. XD He's really a nice guy once you get past his at-first-very-startling impression. 8D
Appearance: HOT. Okay, he's not ******** DROP DEAD...Wait...Okay yeah he is. XD He has a light, cream colored complexion. He has a very lean build due to his dazzling gymnastic abilities, nice broad shoulders, strong arms, legs, and everything else. He stands about 6'3." He has two piercings in his left ear (one being on his upper left ear), and one in his right. He has very long, black hair. VERY LONG. Like, mid-thigh. Apparently he fears scissors as well. XD He keeps it tied back, mainly, but once in a while you'll find him letting it just flow out everywhere. His bangs, which of course are ALWAYS in his face (just to annoy certain people *AHEMTrixyAHEM*), are dyed a deep crimson-red color. His eyes are a stunning bright blue, and from time to time the color from his bangs will reflect into them, making them seem to be almost two-toned red and blue. Yeah, he's hot. XD

Element: Earth.
Animal: An extremely odd breed of monkey that he lovingly named Squatter. He's not quite sure what it is. It's a quite small monkey-creature, about the size of a small house cat, with very large, long ears that have little tufts of fur at the ends and a very long tail. It has a cream colored body, but the tips of its ears, tail, and paws are an orangey-brown color. It's very cute, whatever it is. XD
Personal History: He grew up with his mother for most of his life, the oldest of nine children, never knowing of his little half-sister, Trixy. His mother wasn't very attentive, she practically ignored his existance, but he had several other siblings that he cared for while she was off partying and being a general slut. After a while, his mother couldn't stand caring for him anymore so she sent him off to live with his father, which is where he he learned of his OTHER little sister. It was discovered they had the same father and different mothers, but nevertheless shared the same last name of their father. They became very close and now attend Catori Shrine together, Trixy being one year behind John.
Favorite subject: DEFINITELY Phys. Ed, what with his love of gymnastics. He also loves the arts, he likes doing something artsy whenever he can.

Name: Nova Keely Embry ((And if you ask her, her last name is Le' Claire))
Year: 1
Personality: She is rather dark. Although she is hopelessly in love with John, she will never admit it to anyone else but him, although everyone can tell anyways. Not to say that she would deny it, but shes not going to out right say it. She is sort of secretitive, but has wicked fun freaking people out.
Appearance: Nova has light silver hair that falls about randomly, and is hardly ever kept back. Her eyes are a deep brown, that almost look red. Her skin is something of a light olive color, with just a hint of a natrual blush about her cheeks. She is short, especially when next to John's towering 6'3" ((She is only about 5'3." But she does wear heels a lot.)) She wears only black. Why? Dunno. But she hates anything lighter then a very dark grey.
Birthday: December 30th.
Element: Water
Animal: A deep black wolf. With blue eyes, and white eye liner, that pulls slightly past the coner of his eyes.
Personal History: Nova has known John her whole life. And for as long as she has known him, she has been in love with him, and he has loved her. They didn't start actually going out until her 18th birthday because of there large age gap (4 years). When he left to live with his father, they still wrote back and forth. Once she was able to go to collage she applied to Catori, when she got in she rejoyced. She was raised only by her mom, and hates her father. She is one of three triplets, her sister went to a scool for medical stuff, and her brother still doesn't know what he wants to do. It's hard for her to get by without out them, but she writes them both everynight, and keeps a picture of them, her, her mom, and John by her bedside.
Favorite subject: Science. She is really good at it.

Name: Alister Sinclair
Year: 1
Personality: Alister is an unlucky or maybe just plain clumsy boy. He’s shy when he’s in large groups or meeting somebody new, but otherwise he’s kind. Another thing is, he’s could be extremely gullible and trusting.
Appearance: He have straight light brown hair that almost reach his shoulder, it's mostly messy and uncombed. He has light green eyes and small body, have a collection of sweaters in different colours.

Personal History: Alister was the thirteenth (second last) child of a large, yet normal family. He was born and raised out in the countryside. The only thing that’s abnormal about him is that he’s a bad luck magnet, being born on Friday, October 13th.

Name: Davis Dutchen

Year: 1

Personality:

Very silent person who rarely speaks unless spoken to, even then its only if he has to (aka, instructors) and seems anti social. When he does speak, it seems people catch the wrong meaning of the word since he sounds so serious when he speaks with only a few words.

Appearance:

White hair that falls down naturally, blue eyes, serious looking face, he wears a red shirt that some sort of drawing but is hidden by his blue vest partially, blue vest, orange shoes.

Birthday: November 19

Element: Earth

Animal: Turtle (does not have it yet)

Personal History:

Held in high regards, Davis found his way to College with little effort. The only thing instructors thought that could hold him back was his personality, he did not make any sort of social connections like normal students would have done, instead he ignored it.

In actuality he would like friends at heart, but something always messes him up. Either that the tone of his voice sounds serious, or he says the wrong thing that finds him in a fight. Eventually he decided to just fade out and do his work to succeed, and even that did not work very well and became bullied to some degree by frustrated students. He never fought back, and was roughed up many times.

In a way he hopes to fix things in College, although, he is afraid that a creature would not want to work with him. Somehow things will mess up for him; he thinks it might be at that crucial moment.

Favorite subject: Excels in a little of everything, thus can not decide.

Well Des has had Bastien and his dragon since we started this RP like a year ago. It just died and we are trying to revive it, so any character we had before automatically is given back to us. You are welcome to any other teacher or to make up a sudent, though.

Yeah, it did because I went to Mexico and Des got grounded. XD I don't know why but I find that funny. Just be mindful of what we said. We will give you your element. XD
