INTRO

This here's a Yugioh roleplay. X3 But not the standard Gaian Yugioh roleplay. It's a bit AU, because things are more fun that way.

STORY

After the Battle City Tournament, things returned back to normal. Yami had won, Malik had been sent to the Shadow Realm, Bakura had supposedly been killed by Malik, Namu had gone back to Egypt with his family, and all was well.

Except it wasn't.

Bakura hadn't been killed. And now, he'd found a way back into the world using Shadow Magic. He'd given himself a body.

Namu hadn't stayed home. He was back in Domino City, a transfer student who had quickly tired of his siblings' concerns.

And also- Malik was back. It was partly Namu's fault. Something had been scrabbling at the back of Malik's mind in the moment of his banishment that made Namu wonder at what exactly had caused Malik to take over and pursue the pharaoh. And, researching the spell used to seal Malik, had weakened the barrier holding the yami there.

Malik escaped that night, with Namu's meddling and Bakura's help, as Bakura had sensed the weakened barrier and broke through it from the outside.

After all, they were old friends.

Old friends who were determined to get back at the pharaoh for what he had done, because it hadn't been just this life that he had caused them trouble. And to add to the about-face... Ryou and Namu were going along with it. Ryou hadn't wanted his yami gone. Not really. And this was almost a different Malik that Namu had helped free.

But something else was stirring in the air. Some of the gods, Ra especially as he rather favored the pharaoh, were angry at the interference of the criminal class. But there were gods who supported them, knowing what it was the pharaoh had done in his past life. Furious at what he viewed as betrayal, Ra hunted those gods and goddesses down, capturing them and sealing them away.

But some got away. Some of those he hunted escaped to earth and took on human forms and human limitations in order to survive. At the same time Malik, Namu, Bakura, and Ryou are looking to get at the pharaoh, Ra is looking to destroy them AND the refugee deities. And some innocents are going to get caught in the middle, to be sure, and Domino may not survive the conflict of power.

~Yami Motou~
Aliases: Atem
Played by: Sinfully_Innocent_Kaen
Role: Though he doesn't remember it, he wasn't a good person in ancient Egypt and still isn't now. He's spiteful, cruel, sadistic, everything he supposedly hates in a person. In ancient times he did something VERY wrong, for which he is hated now by the Bakuras, Malik, and Namu.
Notes: Whoever chooses to roleplay Yami will receive a PM from me explaining what it is he's done, so that that person will know ahead of time.

~Namu Ishtar~
Aliases: Malik Ishtar

Role: He's the one who weakened the seal on Malik, enabling him to later break free. He actually doesn't hate Malik, or fear him once he frees him, as his theory proved right and Malik turns out different than he seems in the Tournament. He loves his siblings, but has long tired of them constantly fussing over him and so now lives in an apartment in Domino that they decided to pay for.

~Malik Ishtar~

Role: He was a spirit, like Bakura and Yami, of a theif named Marriku who slept through his imprisonment and was awakened by Namu's anger and pain when Namu was a child. Filled with an all-consuming rage, he took over Namu's body and hunted down the pharaoh, not knowing even what it was he hated the other for, just knowing that he had to die. In the process, he took Namu's birth name, Malik, as his own, leaving Namu to use the fake name he'd given to disguise himself. Something struck him as familiar about Bakura, but not enough to ally with him. But upon defeat and banishment, he snapped out of his fury and remembered what it was he hated the pharaoh for. Now still every bit a yami, he is now more like Bakura in temperament, though a bit more volatile. He can regress to his earlier state if he gets extremely angry.

~Bakura Bakura~

Played by: Amasis
Role: Once the king of thieves, he's now Ryou's yami. No longer so concentrated on the items so much as revenge, he freed Malik from the Shadow Realm. Although Malik had not recognized him through his anger, Bakura had realized that Malik was in fact Marriku, his second-in-command from ancient times and a close friend. Knowing that the anger kept Malik from recognizing him and knowing WHY Malik was so angry, he was more than ready to free his old partner in crime despite what Malik had done to him. And now he's more than ready to help Malik get revenge on the pharaoh, especially now that they have seperate bodies from their hikaris. But he knows he can't let Malik regress to the state of awakening, else they lose their chances at reveng.

~Ryou Bakura~

Role: When Bakura was defeated, Ryou worried about him, having realized what Bakura was trying to do and WHY. He was relieved when Bakura managed to return to him and, though he was wary of Malik, went along with Bakura's plan. And once Malik was returned, supported their need for revenge rather willingly.

"Stay home..." came the pathetic whine of a two year old as he was all but dragged down the street.

"You know we can't hunny... Mommy has school and you have to go to day care." Smiling emerald glanced down at her blonde look alike. "And when mommy gets home rom school we can go out for ice cream, hows that?"

He seemed to perk at that, his green sneakered feet moving more willingly now. "Okay!" then he paused. "Momma's first day at school?"

She nodded, kneeling down to pick the little one up and rest him on her hip. He was getting a bit too big to still be doing it, but she loved it all the same. "Just like yours." A bit of a lie, but she knew it would help her boy get used to the idea.

However, unlike Namu, the little boy had stayed fallen on the ground, his mother up ahead. They had let hands go for but a moment before he had been tripped over. At the honk from the car before him, his green eyes widened and began to tear over. "K-Kaa-san!"

As soon as she heard her son's cry for her, green had widened and Rin had turned around. Fearing a most horrid situation, she was surprised to see a boy about her age holding her blonde child as if he were a log. Blinking away fearful tears that had begun to pool, she sighed in relief.

More so as soon as the two-year-old had seen her. Squealing happily, having calmed since he figured it to be safe now that he was no longer at the mercy of the rather large cars, he wriggled some in the boy's hold. "Look momma! I'm a log!"

She moved foreword to take the small boy from the nameless teen, a grateful smile on her face. "Thank you very much!" Purring softly as Reily wriggled his way out of Namu's hold and jumped into her own, the small girl hugged him tightly, a few tears falling down her cheeks.

"Momma~" he purred, nuzzlign her like a cat might. It was something he had picked up from this odd white cat that she had been housing in her bedroom.

"It's okay baby." Kissing his cheek, she rubbed his back, now holding him on her waist. "Again, thank you. I don't know what I would have done had I lost him..." He was her whole world, anymore the reason why she kept living.
