So my cosplays for HXH aren't finished so sadly mine won't go up yet, but in compensation you can get advice if you want to do one and request from me, and I will be posting pictures of cosplayers that have impressed me with their mad HXH sewing skills.

I persoanlly don't think I have the body type for any of the characters expect Illumi. Espeshally since he has a very easy outfit I might consider making one with him after I finish my current cosplay projects. My only thing is. If I want to do Illumi I want to have the freaky a** eyes. but I don't know how to pull that off. Any suggestions? Also to mention I wear prescription contacts while cosplaying so buying contacts is a no go for this one. I asking for ways to seem like I enlarged my eyes.

I would try making your face look slightly pale and then using eyeliner to make your eyes really stand out. I don't know if this will work, but it's worth a shot. I did a Kurapika cosplay once. It's not as good as it could be (I waited until one week before the con to sew it), but it turned out ok. I did the outfit he wore during the hunter exam. It was the easiest one to do. I may post a picture in the future, but right now I don't have any.

Makeup only does so much for me. Being Asian my eyes are natually smaller.

i myself would like to cosplay as kurapika... i will admit right now that I can't sew... and if I made the attempt i know it would come out bad... but i will attempt to find another way. i know where i can actually find a nice replica of kurapika's nen chains... and so most likely i will purchase them. I could most likely also cut my hair and style it like kurapika's, but i am not sure if i should do that. My face structure might not allow it to look good. Wyrn-san, i don't really have any ideas myself, but i can probably contact my acting teacher from high school to see if she has any suggestions. I think that it would be awesome if you cosplayed as Illumi... it's a very original idea in my opinion since i can't recall ever seeing an illumi cosplayer.

The first time I decided I was going to go into cosplay I had two things I was NOT going to do. 1. Dye my hair. 2. Cut my hair. This made it very diffucult to cosplay since I would have to pick characters with my hair style. I learned that a good wig is worth the effort. I just don't worry about my hair anymore because I can style the wig to fit the character perfectly and I don't have to worry about going to work the nest day with spiky navy blue hair.

So true. x3 Wigs make everything easier and are so much more practical. Even if you ruin it, you can just throw it away or use it for next Halloween. xD

i suppose that is true... but I always considered kurapika's hair to be rather normal compared to a lot of other characters... am I insane for thinking so? i guess i'll get a wig that looks similar to kurapika's hair though... It shouldn't be so hard.

I got the wig I used at Walmart during Halloween. Probably not the best choice, but I'm isolated and have few resources. I actually had to get a long wig and trim it.

Heh. Actually, Kurapika's hair is pretty normal. Along with Leorio's. But Kurapika does seem to have a whole lot of it. x3

Whee this took off like crack. For some reason it just hit me that cosplaying Hisoka would be fun cause I could scare small children.

I can make, um, snakes? Damn I suck at being an entertainer . . . *scrambles to show acting awards* but I can do it when it counts right right?
