This topic. It's being created for a few reasons.
1) I need to vent.
NO NUMBA' TWO!
3) DISCUSSION? HUHWHAT?
So I downloaded RO (Ragnarok Online) last night. My friend payed for a subscription for me, and I was planning on spending the entire week as a ******** zombie-slave to that game until I reached high level rogue class. As soon as the download finishes, servers go down for maintenance. Okay. I can deal. I wouldn't have gotten to play much last night anyway. Today I try starting it up and I get a ******** error message.
This whole thing has made me feel stupid. I tried re-installing RO, I tried reinstalling DirectX. I did everything I could think of. I did everything that my friends suggested to me. Nothing worked. If I can't figure out the problem, I'mma pay Brandon back with money I don't have so his gift isn't a complete ******** waste.
I DON'T NEEDZ TEH HELP!
And now for a discussion topic! Have you ever been sure something would be simple and then find out you have to go through a whole ******** of bullshit to finally be able to do it? Was it worth it?

It means RO likes to ******** up if you don't save it to your harddrive.

whatever RO client you're using has a corrupt or missing data file by the sounds of things. Fully wipe the whole thing from your computer (and delete any extra files that it keeps stored afterwards, RO's grf files can and normally will remain on the computer when you run the uninstall) and reinstall it.
And make sure RO has its own folder. If you just saved the whole program to your program files folder then you won't get too far.

Fully wipe the whole thing from your computer (and delete any extra files that it keeps stored afterwards, RO's grf files can and normally will remain on the computer when you run the uninstall) and reinstall it. And make sure RO has its own folder. If you just saved the whole program to your program files folder then you won't get too far.

Yeah Reddy, my suggestion would be to wipe it and try to reinstall. If it doesn't take, then wipe everything and redownload. It sounds like a corrupted file.
And, well, if the subscription is already paid for then can I use the account? Kidding. Though, I could burn the client on a cd for you and give it to you on Friday. But you'd still have to download the patches and such.

reddy2Bplayd I had to manually download the latest patch, and my friend, Ileana, said that should fix the problem. It didn't. I haven't seen any troubleshooting at iro.ragnarokonline.com, but then again...I'm horribly unobservant. The most I can figure is I have all of the system requirements, I did my part in installing it, and I should be playing it right now instead of griping about how it won't work. If something ******** up during the download, I'm going to be pissed because I lost sleep for two nights getting this because the night before last the download timed out and I had to start all over. Yeah, it really is a b***h. Sometimes they have troubleshooting for stuff like this, but Gravity doesn't usually have much in the way of help on their sites. Damn, that really sucks. I hate to say it though, but you may have to just redownload it.
