Ueda hero worships Gackt. When he was a young boy he met Gackt and told him he wanted to be like him one day. Gackt gave him his signature spiky bracelet and necklace. Ueda always is wearing the bracelet, and sometimes you can wee the necklace on him too.
Ueda is working to learn English and French, just like his role model Gackt.
Ueda commonly gets picked on by Nishikido Ryo of NEWS/Kanjani8. When he was younger and tried so hard to be like Gackt, Ryo asked him, "What are you trying to be?" Ryo constantly made such comments, and many of them hurt Ueda a lot. Once Ryo even said, "Of all the Johnny's I hate Ueda the most." It was during this time tha Kame stood up for Ueda and even made Ryo appologize to him on stage.
During one Shounen Club however, Ueda was talking about Ryo, and a member of Kanjani8 asked Ryo, "wait, don't you hate him?" Ryo replied, "No! I like Ueda lot!"
Ueda's most famous quote is, "I see fairies..." This was said before their first concert. All the boys were going around and saying something encouraging, and that was all Ueda had to say. It lightened the mood for everyone.
Ueda is often called 'cool' because of his distant and quiet personality. He seems to go back and forth between very compose and reserved, and incredibly, happily, hyper.
