I hope that everyone on here has heard of George Strait. He is a legend in my eyes and has been around for like a long time. I especially love his songs "Amarillo By Morning" "The Seashores of Old Mexico" and "I Can Still Make Cheyenne"

I guess this is a fresh thread. I don't see George Strait on the official list. Should add him.
He's been a favorite of mine for years. smile
I love his CD "Somewhere Down in Texas."

Tillisnut I don't see George Strait on the official list. Should add him. I'm getting there. It's been a busy few days for me. wink I like George's music. I'm especially a fan of Seashores of Old Mexico. The song's one that can be so relaxing to listen to. Some friends of mine went to see him recently and said great things about him.

I really quite like him. I've been raised listening to his music because my mom and Grandma love him. But to me he really is a legend, he is a true cowboy, he has his George Strait Roping Classic and he is so dedicated to it. He barely misses one and he actually participates in it, with his son. But the thing about him is that he isnt like these newer country singers that may sound country but were probably raised in the city and they aren't really true Cowboy's or Cowgirls. Sure their music is good, Im not saying it isn't. Anyway I like George's songs Amarillo by Morning (Because well I love rodeos and Im part of a rodeo drill team so its familiar to me), Give It Away, Write This Down, Check Yes Or No, She'll leave you with a smile, and I like many more. smile

I got to see him twice in Dallas, so far. 2000, 2001. That was pretty exciting when he came out. He's really a crowd pleaser and has a great voice. I like most of his songs.
"The Seashores of Old Mexico" is a very good song, I agree. The video is pretty good too,.

George Strait..You can't say that name enough considering all that he has done for the world of country music everywhere. By far the best song he has written is "Take it Away". That is a very, very beutiful song. Along with that "Check Yes or No" is also a very beutiful song. Wow, thats the deepest I've ever been...No I'm not shallow!

One of my favorite songs by George Strait is "Heartland" I also really like "I Cross My Heart." I really do like all of his songs I've heard. He's a true blue Texan and a living country legend. Here's to another 25 years. smile
