Lion Force Voltron

Five Galaxy Alliance space explorers named Kieth, Lance, Sven, Pidge and Hunk come upon the Planet Arus which has been ravaged by the evil Kind Zarkon's forces. When they arrive they are captured and taken to Planet Doom, where they are imprisoned. After their escape, they head back to Arus.

After making it to the ruins of the Castle of Lions, they convince the beautiful Princess Allura and her advisor, Coran, to allow them to seek out the five lions of Voltron. From then on they are known as the Voltron Force and eventually succeed in driving Zarkon's forces back with Voltron's help.

The rest of the series focuses on the struggle to keep Arus free and secure from Zarkon's rule. Later, Sven is hurt by the evil witch Haggar, leading Allura to assume his place in the Force. Eventually, Zarkon's son, Prince Lotor, comes into the picture adding an interesting new romantic dimension to the show- he's hopelessly infatuated with Allura!

Princess Allura Adrianna DeVille
Age: 25

Princess Allura was born on March 12, 2146, the daughter of King Alfor DeVille and Queen Angelica Camille DeVille, rulers of Planet Arus. Her royal nanny primarily cared for her from infancy, as her parents most often attended to royal duties. As Allura grew, she attended prestigious schools, both on Arus and abroad.

Allura was only 9 years old when her mother, the Queen, died of illness. Her father, the King, who taught her what it meant to be a kind and gentle ruler, raised her as best as he could on his own, while continuing to rule Arus. Her father taught by example, and was well loved by the people of Arus. The little princess was often sheltered away from her future subjects, for her own protection. Alfor was very protective of his only child.

When Allura was 11 years old, she was orphaned, after her father was defeated and killed by evil King Zarkon in the Battle of Zohur. She instantly found herself the ruler of Planet Arus...a planet she had only begun to understand. Pressures of royal duty weighed heavily on her as she began her reign. The people of Arus looked to her to provide them with reassurance and protection. It was a task that proved hard to fulfill at such a young age. With her life suddenly changed at age 11, she was forced to take on the role of ruler, and grow up faster than she should have. All of this, while in the process of grieving the loss of both parents.

Relying heavily on her royal court for support, she came under the cared and guidance of the Castle's Chief Magistrate and Planet Diplomat, Coran Anderson.

Allura was only 14 years old, when Zarkon sent his vicious attack forces to Arus. With very little experience as a monarch, she instructed Arus's robot defender, Voltron, to meet Zarkon's forces head on. Allura's father built Voltron many years ago, in anticipation that evil some day would strike Arus.

Voltron too, was eventually tricked and defeated by Zarkon's witch, Hagar. She succeeded in separating him into five robot lions. Without anyone to operate and unite the lions together once again, Voltron was rendered powerless. And Arus was rendered defenseless.

Fighting raged on Arus for three years, until finally, the planet's military armies were defeated, and the people were devastated. The towns and cities of Arus were leveled to the ground by Zarkon's evil forces. Discouraged, but not yet ready to surrender her planet, Princess Allura, now age 17, called upon Galaxy Garrison and the Alliance, to send her reinforcements.

Captain Keith Hunter, along with his team of Space Explorers, came to the aid of the young Princess and her planet. After one of the Space Explorers became injured, Princess Allura herself stepped in and convinced Captain Keith to teach her how to fly the Blue Lion, against the better advisement of Coran and Nanny. With much determination, she made a place for herself as a pilot of the Voltron Force.

After peace had returned to Arus, Princess Allura bid a tearful farewell to her friends as they returned to Earth, their work on Arus complete. She remained on Arus, continuing her education, and her leadership role as Princess and ruler of Arus. All the while, never forgetting her friends from the Alliance. especially Captain Keith...whom she had grown very fond of. Keith was always there for Allura with a word of encouragement when she needed it the most. For all intensive purposes, he was the champion of her heart, although she knew he had his duty to perform, and could not remain on Arus with her. Over the years, her feelings for the young captain remained strong, despite his absence.

At age 25, Princess Allura received a communication from Galaxy Garrison, and was invited to meet with Alliance officials at Bastille 12, and help to try to sway Prince Lotor to give up his forces of Doom that he hid away when he was imprisoned almost five years earlier. She was pleasantly surprised to meet up with Keith during this visit, and learned of his promotion in rank to Senior Commander. After an unsuccessful meeting with Lotor, she returned quietly to Arus, sad that she had to leave Keith once again.

Later, word arrived to Arus that Lotor had escaped from Bastille 12. Allura became concerned for the safety of her planet...and herself. Lotor had always had a destructive infatuation for her. Using caution, she heightened security on Arus.

One day soon after, Planet defenses detected an unidentified ship streaking toward Arus. It was found to contain Commander Keith and former Voltron Force member, Lance Andrews. They had come under attack while investigating space pirating, and were forced to crash land on Planet Arus.

Princess Allura welcomed them both back to Arus, and together, they contacted former Voltron Force pilots, Hunk Simon and Pidge Villatoro, asking them both to rejoin the Force.

Allura took her place once again, as the pilot of Blue Lion and a member of the Voltron Force.

Her character traits:

Stubborn, stubborn, stubborn! She doesn't like being treated like a baby or being told what to do. Allura likes being in the thick of battle, and doesn't particularly like to be over-protected. She struggles with her feelings for her commanding officer, Keith. She especially despises the fact that his military rank and her royal duties tend to keep them apart, emotionally.

On a lighter note, Allura is kind-hearted, compassionate, sincere, loving, caring, and has a special place in her heart for childrenparticularly those who were orphaned during Zarkon's raids on Arus, feeling a special bond with them, as she herself was orphaned, thanks to Zarkon.

Allura enjoys horseback riding, swimming, laughing at silly things, and participating in practical jokes that Pidge likes to play on the other team members. She enjoys playing the piano when no one is aroundso she thinks. She also cherishes her quiet times alone, visiting her father's tomb at the Royal Crypt, and her mother's burial site, near the Castle's front gates, adjacent to Black Lion's monumental resting-place. She also enjoys spending quiet time with Keith whenever time allows. She enjoys long talks and long walks with the Commander of the Voltron Force, sharing quiet, non-intrusive conversation with one another.

Lieutenant Commander Sven B'Yourn
Age: 28

Sven was born on Earth, April 10, 2143. He lived the better part of his young life in the Norwegian providence in Europe with his parents. He has no siblings.

Sven often pretended that he was a space explorer, and as he grew, he became fascinated with the idea of flying. At the age of 12, Sven learned to fly an antique airplane that belonged to a neighbor.

Sven's parents sent him to the Garrison Space Academy, where he began to fulfill his dreams of becoming a space explorer at the age of 13. While there, he became close friends with Keith Hunter, and later, Lance Andrews.

Sven graduated with honors in combat skills, fencing, and navigation. He became especially known for his navigational skills, and was dubbed the finest navigation expert in his graduating class.

When the assignment to Arus came up, Sven immediately signed on with his friends, Keith and Lance. Anxious to go, he bid farewell to his parents, somehow feeling in his heart, that he would never return to Earth.

After escaping capture from Planet Doom, he and his friends arrived on Arus, where he became the pilot of Blue Lion. His piloting days were shortened, however, when he found himself face to face with Hagar the Witch. She had come to Arus in an effort to get rid of one of the Voltron Force pilots, thus allowing the forces of Doom to then conquer the planet with Voltron disabled. Originally, the old witch had captured Lance, but Sven arrived to rescue him. Sending Lance to get help, Sven faced Hagar alone which proved to be an seriously unwise decision.

Sven, gravely injured by the old witch, was suddenly incapable of piloting Blue Lion. Princess Allura stepped in to replace him.

Keith and Lance brought him to a hospital facility on nearby Planet Ebb (where Lance's family once lived before Zarkon attacked the planet). Sven was hospitalized in critical condition. It wasn't long before Zarkon attacked Planet Ebb again, and once again, Sven found himself a slave to Zarkon on Planet Doom.

Because he was too weak to work, Zarkon ordered Sven thrown into the Pit of Skulls. Sven survived by using his wits, and began to forge a means to live in the Pits as a wild man, eating insects, among other things, for sustenance.

He remained there for nearly a year and a half, when he rescued a frightened Princess Romelle of Planet Pollux. (Romelle is Allura's cousin) Zarkon's evil son, Prince Lotor, had kidnapped her, and when she refused to bow to his will, he had her thrown into the Pit of Skulls as well. Sven, knowing well the caverns, helped her escape from Lotor, and eventually, the two of them escaped Planet Doom.

Sven returned to Pollux with Princess Romelle, and remained there with her and her younger brother, Prince Bandor. Bandor, the current ruler of Pollux after the fall of his father, granted Sven citizenship. Sven still lives on Pollux, hopelessly in love with Romelle...as she is with him.

His character traits:

Sven is a kind and peaceful man. He has an ever-growing affection for Princess Romelle, and endeavors to protect her and her home world. He loves to read, although he has very little time to read leisurely. He has also involved himself in the security of Pollux, and is a captain with Prince Bandor's Royal Guards. He loves animals. And hates Lotor too, much like his friend, Keith, for very similar reasons.

Lieutenant Pidge Villatoro
Age: 19

Pidge Villatoro was born on Planet Balto, December 20, 2152. His parents, William and Kathleen Villatoro, were native to Balto. Pidge has a sister, Cami, and a brother, Chip, and all three children loved to spend time together with their parents. Sadly, however, both parents died tragically in a camping accident. The Villatoro children were left as orphans. All three were soon adopted by Kei and Viva Gates. Pidge, Cami and Chip retained their last names in honor and memory of their parents.

Balto was known for its "super-genius" people. The people of Balto could communicate telepathically, although Pidge never quite got the hang of it. Both Pidge and Chip enrolled into the Space Academy. Chip was 9 years old, while Pidge was only 7 years old.

Pidge surpassed all aptitude scores (with the exception of Keith Hunter's scores. His were record-breaking). Pidge graduated at the astonishing age of 11 years old. With the intelligence of a 20-year-old, Pidge was invited to join the Space Explorers, as they ventured to Planet Arus to help the people overcome oppression of evil King Zarkon.

Pidge's adoptive parents were concerned at first, about letting their young son travel such a great distance from home to a distraught planet. But finally agreed to let him go after Hunk Simon promised to watch out for him. Given Hunk's size, it wasn't difficult for Pidge's parents to finally give their okay.

Pidge immediately became the pilot of Green Lion, as well as the team's 'technical guru'. Pidge could think his way out of any tight spot. He is an expert at computer science and technology. He is responsible for the maintenance of the lion's on-board computers, as well as the Castle computer systems.

During his time on Planet Arus, Prince Lotor's evil forces destroyed Pidge's home planet, Balto. His parents and sister managed to flee to Earth, and joined brother Chip there. Pidge was downcast, as he and his team witnessed first hand, the destruction of his home world, during a mission to investigate why the planet was breaking up. While there, the Voltron Force defeated Lotor's Robeast, who was responsible for the destruction of Balto.

In an effort to comfort Pidge, Princess Allura made him an honorary citizen of Planet Arus.

After three years, Pidge returned briefly to Earth, where he was then reassigned to a science planet for technological research after a brief visit with his parents.. Some four years later, Pidge was joined by Hunk, and together, the two of them continued there until recalled again to Planet Arus.

At age 19, Pidge reclaimed his role as pilot of Green Lion, and to this day, continues to amaze his fellow teammates with his skills and intelligence.

His character traits:

Pidge LOVES to play practical jokes on his teammates. He often recruits Princess Allura to help him set up his schemes. His jokes, though funny, often annoy Commander Keith to no end. Pidge loves to play chess, read, and fiddle around with new inventions.

Pidge also tinkers with computers in his spare time. He loves to make improvements on the Castle's surveillance systems. He also enjoys swimming, and going for long walks alone.

Princess Romelle DeVille
Age: 25

Princess Romelle was born on Planet Pollux, July 17, 2146. She is the daughter of King Koba DeVille. Much like Princess Allura, Romelle lost her mother at a young age. Queen Salena died while giving birth to her third child...Prince Bandor.

Prince Avok, Romelle's eldest brother, was slated to be the next ruler of Planet Pollux, upon the death of his father, King Koba. Avok was age 21.

For generations, Planet Pollux and its descendents bore a continued hatred toward their ancient descendents of Planet Arus. The first King of Arus, the son of Queen Ariela, had two sons, one peace loving, and the other evil. Before the king died, he banished the evil son to Planet Pollux. The evil son's anger and bitterness toward his kindly brother spread from generation to generation.

Finally, after many generations of bitterness, Princess Allura and the rest of the Voltron Force, lead by then Captain Keith Hunter, journeyed to Planet Pollux, which had been rumored, had joined forces with King Zarkon of Planet Doom. As part of the evil plot to conquer Planet Arus, Prince Avok volunteers to become a Robeast.

Meanwhile, Prince Lotor became fascinated with Princess Romelle, saying how much she reminded him of Princess Allura of Planet Arus. Romelle is fascinated with the Doom Prince as well, deceived by his charm.

While sneaking around inside the Castle, the Voltron Force was discovered by Prince Bandor, then age 15. Princess Romelle quickly comes to the aid of her little brother, only to be confronted with the young ruler of Arus. Stunned, everyone looks in utter shock at the two princesses....identical in nearly every way.

With the plan to conquer Arus defeated, King Koba goes insane from it all, while Romelle and Bandor's eldest brother, Prince Avok, disappears, still bearing the guise of a Robeast. Romelle calls after her brother, Avok, and is then captured by Prince Lotor and hauled away from Planet Pollux.

In light of the absence of Princess Romelle, Prince Bandor was made permanent ruler of Planet Pollux. It was feared that Princess Romelle would never return to Pollux, but instead, remain a slave to King Zarkon...forever.

But that did not stop the Voltron force, or Bandor, from attempting to rescue her.

After many failed attempts of rescue, however, Romelle is finally brought to Planet Doom as a slave, and given a choice...become Lotor's Queen, or be thrown into the Pit of Skulls. She chooses the Pit of Skulls. She is thrown in and left for dead. But Lotor is not satisfied with the assumption of her demise, and orders her remains found and her death confirmed.

But Romelle did not die. She fell into the Pit of Skulls, and somehow, managed to land on a pile of debris that softened the impact of her fall.

Injured, she is instead found there by a wild man, who helps her escape her pursuers. The wild man turns out to be Sven B'Yourn, former Blue Lion pilot of Voltron. He too, had been thrown into the Pit of Skulls and forgotten. He stayed alive by relying on his military training for survival.

Sven befriends the beautiful Princess of Pollux, and helps her escape from Planet Doom. He then returns with Romelle, and remains on Planet Pollux, vowing to fight by her side until all of the evil forces of Doom are destroyed.

Prince Bandor remains the ruler of Planet Pollux in his father's place. Romelle chooses to serve as his advisor, giving up her claim to the throne.

Nearly a year and a half after Sven and Romelle's escape from Planet Doom, they return with forces from the Imperial Army, of which Sven is their captain. Together with Voltron, they finally are able to defeat Lotor, who had ceased the throne from his father, Zarkon.

Lotor escaped, however, and together with his remaining forces, challenged Voltron to a final battle above the skies of Planet Doom. Voltron answered the call and confronted the evil Prince of Doom. Romelle and Sven were instrumental in the final victory, leading the slaves below on Doom in an all out rebellion. Together with the Imperial Army forces, Romelle and Sven rallied the slaves to victory on the ground.

Voltron, meanwhile, defeated Prince Lotor one final time, sending his battle cruiser back to the surface of Planet Doom in a ball of flames.

During the battle and subsequent defeat, Lotor is disfigured.

Princess Romelle returns to Planet Pollux, accompanied by Sven, and together, help Prince Bandor rebuild Planet Pollux, while strengthening their friendship with Planet Arus.

Her character traits:

Much like her cousin, Princess Allura, Princess Romelle is very stubborn, and very determined. She has an undying affection and devotion to Sven. Sven also, very obviously, loves Romelle as well.

Romelle is compassionate, kindhearted, but sometimes, too trusting. Her compassion for the freedom of people everywhere from tyranny strengthens her resolve to stand up and fight for what is right. She is an avid supporter of her cousin, Princess Allura, and of Voltron.

She and her brother, Prince Bandor, bring peace between Planet Pollux and their sister planet, Arus, after many generations of hatred.

Romelle enjoys horseback riding and tending to her Royal Gardens. She spends a great deal of time with orphaned children of her planet. She also enjoys spending time with the new Captain of the Imperial Army of Pollux Sven B'Yourn, who was appointed to the position by Prince Bandor.

Hagar the Witch
Age: Unknown

It is not known when Hagar was born. She is several hundred years old. Her planet is in another dimension. Very little is known about her. There is one burning event that took place in her life, causing her to eventually turn to evil.

Hagar was once a beautiful, young woman. She ventured out and came to stay on Planet Arus...many years ago during the reign of King Alfor, before he met and married his Queen, Angelica Camille.

Alfor met Hagar one afternoon when he was on a hunting trip. An accident occurred that could have ended the King's life. While hunting, the King fell into a deep pit that was undoubtedly dug by a villager who was attempting to capture wild game. The King was injured when he fell. As nightfall approached, the injured King regained consciousness, and weakly cried out for help. But he had left the castle without an escort, and no one knew where he had gone.

Alfor began to go into hypothermia as the cold night air took its toll on the helpless king. As he continued to cry out, Hagar happened to be nearby, and using her magic, got him out of the pit and brought him back to the Castle of Lions.

Hagar assisted in nursing the King back to health at his insistence. The two became inseparable, and soon fell in love. The people of Arus, however, didn't share their King's heart for Hagar, and spurned her as a possible selection for Queen.

The public outcry was so great, that Alfor had to abandon his love for Hagar. Eventually, she was asked to leave Arus. She did, reluctantly.

Heart-broken, Hagar wondered around the galaxy until she met up with King Zarkon of Planet Doom. The evil king convinced Hagar to throw her hat in with him. He was eventually able to turn her over to evil. When this happened, Hagar's heart turned cold, and she grew as ugly as her heart had grown.

When Zarkon challenged King Alfor to a battle in the Valley of Zohur, on Planet Arus, Hagar was brought along to help Zarkon...and help, she did. Alfor was shocked to see Hagar once again, and anguished at what she had become. While in the process of distracting Alfor, Zarkon delivered a devastating blow with his sword, ending the life of the Arusian King.

Hagar was sad as she gazed at her fallen love. But she convinced herself that his demise could have been avoided, if only he hadn't pushed her love away.

Hagar continued to serve King Zarkon and later, Prince Lotor, using her talents for evil. She retreated to the Dream Dimension, taking Castle Doom with her, when Voltron defeated the Forces of Doom.

She remained there for nearly five years, reliving her fallen life, and wishing that things had turned out differently.

Hagar still serves Prince Lotor and his evil desires. She still creates Robeasts, and still reeks havoc wherever she goes.

Her character traits:

Hagar is as ugly inside as she is outside. She is selfish, but devoted to her Prince. She will do whatever she is told to do...especially if it promises to bring her power. She hates Princess Allura, primarily because she reminds her too much of Alfor.

Her crowning achievement was when she successfully injured Blue Lion's Sven B'Yourn, causing a weakness in Voltron's effectiveness...even if it was for only a fleeting moment.
