Hello,
I have a dilemma. Too many convention theme ideas. So, I've decided to let you guys vote on which one you think is the best.
Themes:
Privates vs Ninjas: Well, just what the name says
Gunslingers vs Swordsmen:
or BUST!: Basically, a All or nothing, usually, themed around a road theme.
Wonderland: Basically, the Alice in Wonderland idea, weird scenery, weird events, weird everything....
BTW: if you have any ideas, let me know.

I think pirates Vs. Ninja's ouldn't be a good one right now because Metro used it last year and it was used to recently

Personally I liked what PersaCon in AL did, being about Japanese culture.

Like I said before, if Janicon is gonna be in October then a Halloween theme would also be viable.

Well thats why wonderland would work.
Like a Twisted Wonderland. Weird scenery, of creatures. And we can still link it to anime.
Like for a Cosplay
Best Anime impersonated Wonderland creature..
Like... I donno Trigun dressed up as Tweedle dum. Lol
And we can have regular Cosplay contest for people that don't want to exactly go with the theme.
Oh.. if we do it. Alice and the Chesire Cat are taken!.... Tekkun. I think you should be the Mad Hatter. Lol.

I dont like this Wonderland theme at all, it really dosent fit into anime all that well... stuff where there is already a set group of charas for it really makes things difficult.. and then you have to think about the regular cosplayers. Also, Alice in Wonderland is not a japanese story so connecting it with an ENTIRE anime convention just dosent work in my mind.
But.. sence you all seem to love the idea and it dosent seem to be going anywhere.. I'll be the hare sence chessie is taken... I'll just try not to go "nya" all the time >.< thats gonna be hard

I see truths and falts with the theme.
I like it. I think its somthing new and can be flexable if you think about it. *shrugs*
But it can be hard to work with. Maybe...we can... I donno change it to make it brouder...
I donno....
I know some have already started with there costumes.
And majority did rule. There was a poll here and on myspace.
So, LUCKLY!!!.... I didn't go by my dress yet....... But...... donno. Hope others didn't eather..

As convention themes go, you want your convention theme to be original. I mean, if you go to a convention for the first time, new convention i'm talking about, and it's the same ol' boring, overused theme, why go to it? If it's a new theme, with new programming and events based on that theme it'll be something to look forward to. Also, for a new con, if they start off with an original theme, people will always be impressed and want and crave more and will return the next year. If it's a common theme, why return for yet another common theme? I sure know if I go to yet another Pirates vs. Ninjas themed con i'll explode.

I just dont think "Wonderland" is the best choice for an anime con gonk seeing as it is an English story. The story is not japanese so why use it for an anime con?.. and the theme will totally mess with the other cosplayers! a theme like "Things that go bump in the night" or "Heavenly beings" would be a better choice because they dont have a set line of charas for them, and are not from one certin thing

The theme is not Alice and Wonderland. Its Wonderland. Strange things.. Strange creatures... like Tekkun told me.. there are thoughs things in anime. Hey if I saw a person come in as Lain, I condsider it to fit. That anime is odd, but good. Anyway.
Its just that the staff, was going to do an Alice in wonderland cosplay.
And it dosn't interfear. If someone wants to come as mario.. they can. And there will be cosplay contest that have to do with the theme and that dont.
Like at Metrocon. It was Kawwi vs Kowi.. I forgot. But anyway... I saw a Peanut butter Jelly bannana man. Our theme wont stop people from cosplaying what they want. Its if they want to make it fit. Then they will.
