Mvumo was a frustrated lion. It had been several days since he saw anyone new, or any game larger than gazelle, and he was beginning to think that he had entered an area forsaken by any pride. While this was probably a good thing for him to avoid unnecessary fighting, he couldn't help but feel a tad lonely. He didn't miss having to talk, but he did miss having an equal to talk to. He missed the laughter of cubs running through the jungle. He missed the feeling of home and family he only had when he was a young Mistweaver. But he had nothing to go back to now; he could only move through areas like this until someday...he was daydreaming again, and he knew it. Another home was impossible.

He did his best to hide his frustration, though his pace was hightened and he held a small frown as he walked. He just hoped he didn't frighten some pridal scout.

"Mvumo, is that you?" Aadil called softly in a sing song voice. At there last encounter she had been weak and in terrble shape; now she was energetic and vibrant. Her fur still had patchy parts but the fur that still remained shined healthily. He'd helped her greatly by showing her that zebra.
She was lonley, and infact she was looking for someone to talk to; Mvumo was one of the only lions Aadil new, and just her luck that he would be walking along one of the same paths she was! She'd ventured toward the pride lands to find new people, and she actually had found someone! But she wasn't sure where he was now.

Mvumo blinked. That voice sounded most familiar. And sure enough, there was Miss Aadil, looking quite healthy now. He was glad; she had been in such poor shape, and she had seemed such a nice lioness. "It is me, Miss Aadil," he said as he turned toward her, frustrations pushed aside for the moment. "I am glad to see you are happier now. What has happened since we last spoke?"

A grin spread across her maw and she moved closer, rubbing the length of her body along his side affectionately. Heat rose into her face and she backed away from him.

"After I met you I went wandering, it's nice to have company. But odd being away from my cave." Her facial expressions were animated and she genuinely seemed happy.

"This land is the Pride Lands, they're very nice here from what I see. I met a friend too! His name is Danzi, he promised to show me around!" The childishness once again returned to her, someday the little cub inside her would finally grow up, but today is not that day.

Mvumo wasn't quite sure how to react to Aadil's advances, though any traces of that frown he had held before vanished. "Um...thank you, Miss Aadil..."

"The Pride Lands?" Mvumo questioned, a tad confused by this name. The jungle was once the pride lands of the Mistweavers, and the desert was the pride lands of the cursed Firekin, but he'd never heard of a pride that didn't name their lands after themselves rather than just Pride Lands. It seemed so generic. "Well, I am glad this pride has been kind to you. I do hope I haven't seen all of the prey here; I haven't seen anything but gazelle for the last week. Perhaps once this Danzi shows you around, you can show me around? If they wouldn't mind a rogue like me on their lands."

"I'd show you anything, you practically saved my life! I'm not sure, he said they were just the Pride Lands, I'll ask. He's a Pridelander, maybe that's just the name?" She mused glancing up looking over her friend.

"New places, new faces," she took on the tone that symbolized she was talking to herself.

"And what have you been up to, Mvumo?" She smiled and turned her attention back to him.

"Perhaps," Mvumo said. "I suppose it works, though it is a simple name. Not very descriptive." Then again, that would stand out amongst the prides with fancy names and fancy titles to their lands. And since it wasn't his pride, he wasn't going to question the logic further.

He thought long and hard about his movements, and what he could tell to Aadil about them. "Wandering," he said. "I wander, as usual. But you are the first of my own kind I've seen in a long time."

"Wandering seems to be a common thing," she chuckled. "Mind if we head toward a watering hole, there is one near by?" Without an answer she started to walk carefully setting one paw infront of the other. Confuse started to bubble at the end of her conciousness, why had she shown such affection to someone she had barely met? Loneliness was a funny thing, that was for sure.
"Maybe you can stick around?" she peered over her shoulder at him. "You're the only lion I've ever seen more than once. Most just pass through?"

Mvumo merely nodded at the request to visit a watering hole. When you never knew when the next drink would come, it was best to take some water while you could. Besides, Miss Aadil was thirsty, and he wasn't going to treat the first friend he'd made in a long time go thirsty.

"Stick around?" he asked, confusion twisting every which way in his mind and heart. "I will stick around as long as you want me to, Miss Aadil. I do usually just pass through, but for a friend I will make an exception." A friend. An actual friend!

"Friend, I like the sound of that!" It was if a smile was stapled to her maw, unbudging and bright. There were things that creatured needed in this world, and friends were undoubtably one of them. "I'm not sure what to think of you," she admitted quietly. She was speaking to him, but the tone seemed like she was off in a different world.

She wasn't clumsy but it was best she watched her paws, you never know what you're going to step in! She walked submisvily with her head down, no one ever told her to walk with her chin up.

Mvumo fell silent as he walked behind her, unsure of what to say. Words often failed him, and he had gotten by before without saying a word. But now, it seemed that words were required. Aadil didn't know what to think of him? He didn't know what that was supposed to mean. Ah, the confusion. Well, the only thing he could do was give her a good impression of himself. "I understand. We've only met twice, after all."

And then he concentrated on locating the waterhole she wanted. You couldn't think properly when you were thirsty, and Mvumo had a lot on his mind anyway.

"Oh, I don't mean that you are bad or anything!" She nudged her shoulder into his side playfully and started to walk a little faster toward the waterhole that just fell into sight. "See right there!" She smirked.

She half walked half waded into the small watering hole and started to drink. Mud and clung to the bottom of her paws and the water soaked into her skin. For a warm day it was suprising that steam wasn't rolling off of her.

She didn't think he was bad? Well, that was good to know. He certainly didn't want Miss Aadil to think ill-thoughts of him, especially since she was also a friend of a pride member. Mvumo had no choice but to be a bit too cautious about those sort of things. But there was the watering hole! His pace quickened as well, until he too was wading in the water, a short distance away to avoid the mud and dirt Miss Aadil had inevitably stirred up.

The water certainly was refreshing. Mvumo had forgotten how thirsty he was until he started drinking from the small watering hole. But he was cautious not to drink too much; rationing was always a good idea. He didn't know these Pride Lands very well, and didn't know when he'd find another watering hole.

"Tell me a secret?" She spoke boldly, something that was slowly growing to her character. She was usually quiet and reserved, but he was a friend of little words. "Anything in the entire world you'd never tell another living breathing soul."

She splashed playfully looking up over the water at the brown lion. "Doesn't matter what!"

"A secret?" Mvumo asked, his face like a mask of calmness as he tried to figure out what to say. He had many things that he would never tell another soul, but he kept them buried for a good reason. Why would he risk his friendship with Miss Aadil by telling her any of those secrets? He desperately wanted to forget them, not proclaim them to the world. He had to think of something fast.

A thought occured to him, and a warm grin spread across his maw. He leaned over and whispered in her ear, "I'm afraid of ostriches."
