I hear Gasaraki is really good. I have the box set, but haven't quite watched it. Nadesico is also one of my personal favorites, and if you consider it to be a mech show, Bubblegum Crisis (I've only seen 2040) is very good. Though the mecha only play a small role, I really like the new anime take on Samurai 7, too. Macross is DEFINITELY worth seeing. Even though it came out around '82, Macross: Do You Remember Love? is still one of the most gorgeous anime movies I've seen. Finally, I rather enjoyed Hades Project Zeorymer, even though it was rather short. Some very interesting mecha designs and epic battles in that show.

I forgot to add on my list Macross 7 and zero... how stupid
I seen parts of Nadesico, I want to see more of it (playing SRWJ actually made me watch the series and the movie)
And yea, I do want to watch the original macross and the moviel. I love minmay! she's so hawt... I want my gf to be like her...
and Zeorymer sounds interesting also (again, SRWJ) but I can't find it...

At least when I get my hands on SRW MX, I can understand the RahXephon story a little better...

but thanks for some series that I haven't heard... You should watch Gunbuster and Diebuster (or in Japanese, Top oh Nerae I and II. I is 1982 and a little bit shoujo, and II is a bit funky and shoujo... But they are not bad...)

and I actually like the Brain Powerd series...

Gunbuster is definitely on my list of series I have to see. I've also been working my way through the classic Ideon series (which is apparently Tomino's favorite anime he's done). Before I start any more mecha series I want to finish Turn A Gundam though. I'm only half done ninja

I am liking Macross a little bit more than Gundam... I mean, yea it sorta is corney, regarding the "Song will save the world theme" and "Proto-culture", but dude, the Valks... They are awesome...
