I love sushi. my favorite food. you're prolly just getting the old stuff sold in stores. you need the fresh kind. try going to the chinese place by my house. it's the buffy place. they have a sushi bar.

fORTUNATELLY THERE IS VEGAN VERSIANS OF SUSHI
(dang caps lok)
I also can go for Sashimi if in the mood and I know the cheff.
There are so many places attempting sushi but few that do it well and at a price I can afford.
Tempurra is also great but you can eat only so much before it goes off ... stare

Just had sushi - or what passes for it anyways - in downtown Indianapolis last weekend - I must be spoiled or something but 4 dumplings or 4 sahimi for U$8 is robbery ... and unless I wanted to go and spend $30 on a bento the size of an end table .... eeesh I was left still hungry and a lot poorer... and what I had was mediocre at best. And it was supposed to be the best place in the whole damn city.
I come home and have a bowl of ramen with EVERYTHING in it for C$8 and was almost not able to finish it.
So yes you can go vegan in a sushi place .... but still have to watch where.

If you get it from a good reputable place on the coast, where they get the fresh catch of the day, it will be fine.
the whole key is to get it FRESH.
otherwise, forget it.

Just got back from a all you can eat place .... nothing of the expensive/rare kind but everything was fresh and done to perfection ... well except for one clumsy hostess at another table ... rolleyes Felt like I was in Anime, what with being there with Siblings and freinds mrgreen
Almost ate too much though .... and almost ate a milk product (eeep) ... but I had a Kiwi instead mrgreen
