With the light shinning.....
Chapter one: It's only the beginning
"Gabriella... come out, come out, where ever you are” Said a deep, dark
voice. A little girl ran behind a tree, as a small boy popped out behind the
tree as he yelled "Boo!" the little girl screamed and ran away. Not from
fear, from the game they had been playing. The male boy was around 8
years old, and she was only 5. The little girl had been thought a lot, with
her parents. Of her parents where drunks, spending time at the bar,
drinking, laughing, and getting wasted. Than they would come home and
beat her, for the little things she did. She didn't have a Nanny, or anyone
to see the abuse. She only had her aunt Peggie, and her cousin Mark. The
little girl had long Black hair, and dark blue eyes. Her name was Gabriella
Angel. Though, her surname wasn't Angel. Her aunt had seen the abuse
that her parents gave her, and when she was around her aunt, she was an
angel. Mostly from fear of being beaten. But, her aunt was the only one to
show any love to her, and for that, she was grateful. "Gabriella, Mark time
for dinner" Yelled her aunt Peggie. Aunt Peggie was an elderly woman,
with gray hair, mostly tied up in a bun, and a smile that made even the
birds chirp. Gabriella and her cousin walked into the house, the house was
decorated like a fairy tale house, the wall paper was old, the drapes where
moth-eaten, and it had the weirdest smell. But it was more of a home
than Gabriella had. She had sat down at the dinner table, when Aunt
Peggie said "Gabriella, did you wash your hands?" Gabriella, got down,
and walked to the bathroom. "Some times I can't see why anyone would
hurt that little girl." Thought Aunt Peggie. Gabriella walked into the
bathroom, with Mark and washed there hands. After, of course they went
to dinner, but that didn't last long. There was a hasty knock at the door,
Aunt Peggie, got up and walked to the door. She opened it up to she
Gabriella's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Campbell. They had dark brown hair, and
blue eyes. They normally frowned, the only time you where to see them
smiling, was when they where ether drunk or high. "Hello Brandy, Philip-"
"Gabriella, come on. We don't have all day!" said Mrs. Campbell, cutting
off Aunt Peggie from finishing. Gabriella excused her self from the table
and walked to Aunt Peggie, and gave her a hug. Aunt Peggie whispered
into Gabriella's ear. "Your always welcomed here" A tear came from
Gabriella's eye, as Mrs. Campbell pulled Gabriella off of Aunt Peggie. They
(without saying good-bye) walked to they're car, by now it was raining.
They pushed her into the back seat of the car, and closed the door. They
got in and started to drive off as fast as they could, "I hate this neighbor
hood, and we shouldn't let Gabriella play around here" exclaimed Mrs.
Campbell; Mr. Campbell just sat back and drove. After they got to there
house, they grabbed Gabriella by the arm and walked her to the house.
The house looked like haunted house, with the gothic windows, and the
dark purple paint on the house. They opened the door, and pushed
Gabriella in "your mother and I are going to the bar. You're staying here"
said her Father, and then they hastily slammed the door closed. She
looked around, to see nobody. The house was dark, but Gabriella knew
where a candle stick was, she lit the candle. The room was very dark, and
had big spider webs in the corners. She walked up to her room, and
opened the door. The room was Black and Crimson red, like all the rooms
in the house. There was a bed, not that I would call a mattress on the floor
a bed, but it was. There was also a chair, next to the only window in her
room. The window had been boarded up, but if you looked though a hole
in the wood a right way. You could see the moon at night. She sat the
candle stick next to the chair, and sat down. It had gotten dark, fast, and
Gabriella was getting tired. So she grabbed the candle stick, put it next to
her bed, and lay down. She was watched the flame flicker, her eyes got
heavy, and soon she was fast asleep. A burst of wind came and blow at
the candle, or at least that’s what it looked like… Gabriella was awakening,
from a force on top of her. She opens her eyes to see her Father; her
father then punched her in the face. With her lip bleeding, she started to
cry. "Shut up" Her father said, drunkenly. She couldn't stop, even if she
wanted to. He soon punched her again, and knocked her out. He walked
away, feeling no pain at all. Like he had poisoned his heart with Novocain.
He closed the door and locked it from the outside. Not even I know what
was going though his head, leaving a little five year old girl, alone, and
bleeding to death. In Gabriella's head, it was a normal night... She woke
up, from the sun light, peeking thought her window. She hastily got up,
and tried to open the door. She turned the door knob, it didn't open. She
tried again, didn't work. She then said "Hello?" she sounded hurt, and
alone, not really knowing what was happening. She then heard foot
steps, "Gabriella, quit yelling! This is your punishment, for disobeying your
father last night." Yelled her mother from the other side. Gabriella soon
walked away from the door, knowing there was no end. She doubted if
she would ever see Aunt Peggie or Mark again. She stayed up in her
room, and waited. Waited for something to magical happen, she went over
to her closet and grabbed her favorite dress. It was a short, gray dress,
and her parents told her not to wear it. But, they couldn't see her, she
couldn't see them. She put her hair up like in a princess... She walked
over to a corner of her room; there was broken mirror piece on the floor.
She grabs one and looked how she looked. "All hail princesses Gabriella
Mary Angel!" said Gabriella as she bowed. She then started to hum the
tune of the nursery rhyme, Aunt Peggie sang for her... She danced
around, and thought. Then she heard the door knob moving, she ran
under the sheets and acted sick. The door swung open and there standing
in the doorway was her father, he walked over to her bed and
said "Gabriella, what are you doing?" he started to take the sheets off of
her bed, she tugged on the sheet and said "Nothing daddy." He then got
his strength to pull it off of her, and saw the dress. "You’re ruining your
good dress?" he said, madly. He then started to punch her. She kept
crying, but he wouldn't stop... Now, is the best time I would like to say she
had lived. But, that would be a lie... The next day, Aunt Peggie and Mark
were at the cemetery. Looking at the gravestone that now read "Gabriella
Mary Campbell 1952-1957". Aunt Peggie was crying her eyes out. Mark
was staring at the gravestone, not wanting to believe what he saw. "Come
on Mark; let’s go before it starts to rain." Said Aunt Peggie. She left the
Cemetery, with Mark under her arm, and only the memories of the Angel
they loved, Gabriella

I know it sounds like the end. But, it's not.
NOTE: My father did NOT Abuse me when I was a kid... It's just the sad fact that alot of kids are abused.
