Hello I would like to discuss current world matters, such as government and the middle east, with fellow gaians, because I find this sort of conversation intriguing. So...I'll start it off. What are your opinions about the new war breaking out between Arabia and the middle east?

I think that it is pointless to harm millions of innocent people simply because of trouble between a few select people.

I live in the U.S. so normally, I'm one of the millions of people who hate president George Bush. I think it's his fault that we've been having a 5-year war with Iraq.

I am Canadian, and have much speculation about the event. Actually, I can see right through George Bush's ploy. It's quite simple, and for anyone who's still unsure, which I doubt they are, think about his reason to attack Iran. I hope the UN sees through it too, and dejects it, because it is by far the stupidest reason I've heard.

Did you hear? Fidel Castro gave up his power to his brother! Every tv news crew was talking about it, but they're al saying they still haven't heard from either of them. My mom said either Castro is even sicker or already dead. Yesterday with my cousin Elise and I watched a commercial on Fidel, and said still no sign of them doing anything. Then, Elise said, "They're both dead. domokun "

No, I haven't heard that yet...wow. Wait, jusr read an article about it. That is quiet interesting. But I doubt they're both dead, and if they were...that would probably mean america would try and take over. Poor Cuba. No more communism for them.

The war in Iraq is a joke. Bush wants the oil. According to recently released information, 9-11 was planned by our own Government. And if thats true our country is even more messed up than I originally thought. Clinton was a better president than the last few that the U.S. has had. We threw him out because he cheated on his wife and the country found out about it?? So what? A lot of people cheat on their wives, including past presidents. Bush is a puppet in a higher scheme, which seems to be going well, he's just in it for the money, being an owner of and oil company himself. Gas is $3.25 in Illinois, planning to spike up to at least $4. I don't know about you, but being a broke college student having to pay that much for gas, I don't think I'm going to make it. Well as for Castro giving up power, it's about time. I heard that as well. I don't think that they're dead though. Its all speculation at this point. I really hate politics. But thats ok. It always makes for an interestingly heated discussion.

I dont know about all of you, but I have already packed my bags and am prepared to flee to Canada. It's not Bush that I'm worried about... it's Cheney. That man scares me, my family, and all small children who see him on T.V. I predict that very soon, Cheney will stab Bush in the back (metaphorically or literally) and assume the seat of power. Then he will bypass Congress and declare himself dictator-for-life (or something to that effect), using the excuse of special war-time presidential powers. After that, i have no idea what will happen... maybe i should check in the Book of Revelations?
Long story short: d**k Cheney= twisted
On a side-note: Just because I'm paranoid, doesn't mean that their not out to get me... ninja

This will be short due to my teporary diability.
The article I read said Castro had surgery and neeeded time to heal, so he temporarily gave up his seat. when he's better he is gonna take it back. COMMUNISIUM must die!
and i can't type!

TifaLockhart_86- True. My father tells my that the bush abd binladden family are good friends and trade goods, so what else is there to say? And the reason for war on iraq is just BS, because he only wants oil. My father has also told my that Bush wants control over oil, so he isn't dependant on one country. If one sorce runs, out he's stuck, but if he has multiple sorces if one runs out he can switch to another. Gas prices here in AB are spiking too, and last summer it went up $0.50! It's not much, just up to $1.4 a letre, but that's high for us. Now, back to the Iran thing, I say bush should be attacking Pakistan. Why? Because they have proven necluar capablities, because that is probably where most of the terrorists are, and because binladden is probably hiding there.
Lord SmokedMeatsAndFishes- Eh, Canada's government isn't great either. Here we've got corruption. And besides, isn't America against dictatorships? If Cheney did become a dictator, then he wouldn't only have the country rebel against him, but probably the UN! Even if he might be a puppet to his advisers, no on with sanity would try that. And if he didn't have sanity then the people would kick him out of parliment.

For those who don't know. A letre is much less than a gallon. So she wind up with high prices too.
My gas is $2.86 a gallon right now. It's been decreaing a little lately. With summer ending and the benny's going home it will get a bit lower for the winter.

Personally, I think this war is pointless. I support our troops, not the cause. I think we should bring them home before more of my friends lose their older brothers to this war.
And as far as the government goes, I hate Bush, he makes us Texans look bad, and I'm also afraid of Cheney. Then again, politics never was my forté... Or however you spell that one.
Anywho... I'm not sure who to blame about our gas prices being $3.59... But it's outrageous, I think. confused

Our gas prices have been going down! It's now $2.15 per gallon. About 2 years ago this time I believe it was like $145 or something close... I wish I was driving then!
Also our Constitution stats that if we do not like our govenment we do have a right to overthrow it. ^.^ So if Cheney even attempts to take over: Boom! Bam! Whack! He is so beyond doomed! All those 18 or older: Register to Vote! Do not vote for any Bush.... I hear GWB Brother may run for President...... >.< Hmm well That is all for now!
