I know we've all got some killer pass-throughs with band members.

This year, in the first song I have to spin flag right between two trumpets. One of them is a freshmen. Everytime we run that set, his eyes get all big and he gives me this look like, "Don't kill me! Please don't kill me, scary guard girl! gonk " That kid cracks me up. xd

In the second song I pass-through a tenor and a snare. It used to be between two tenors, but that was a little too scary for all three of us. eek So I have more room now.

Also, my freshman year I dented a tuba during a pass-through. sweatdrop

This is my first fall season, and we pass through the alto sax line. It's not really that bad, but it WOULD BE BETTER IF FREAKING MR. 'SECTION LEADER STEVE' WOULDN'T MOVE HIS HEAD OUT OF THE WAY TO MAKE ME NERVOUS gonk mad

OMG third song is full of pass-throughs. We just marched the drill and work with the band today. Many near-death experiences for the bandies. Especially since we spin aluminum bats during that song, which are heavier and hurt worse than flags/rifles/sabres.

I have had to go through two bass drums while twirling for one set and then a few sets later I had to go through a tenor and bari sax. Its funny to see the freshman trying to twirl through people.

PASS-THROUGHS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Last year I had a pass between a sousaphone and a bass clarinet. Poor people... I was doing extended speed-spins and I caused $2379.56 in instrumental damages.

This year I've got a few pass throughs and a deadly equipment change

First song has nothing major in it.

Second song has the killer equipment change, which is kind of a pass through, but I don't move. I have to do it in the middle of the feild and I have first two trumpets, which isn't bad, but two steps after that I have two sets of tenor drums that are facing each other and have their drums touching each other so that they can play each other's drums. That means I get down on the ground and pray.

Third song I pass through trombones and then dance between a row of trombones and a row of trumpets. Then I do a pass through to the back for an equipment change.

Fourth song I do a pass through the entire band to the front for a solo and then I get to dance with a trumpet player and a flute player.

In our winter show I had to pass between the two tenors and it drove me NUTS because they never left enough space for me. So I started just shoving my way through and one of them got really mad 'cause I knocked them off balance. lol

This is why I'm so glad that they decided to go easy on me.
Well, knowing how clumsy I can get.
Or I guess because I passed out at one of the practices [I shall never lock my knees ever again].
But I have no passthroughs this year.
*sighs*
I'm so happy.

I don't go through the band at all this year, thank goodness.

I start about 2 steps behind the trumpets, but I'm sitting and not touching my flag- when I do pick it up, I'm walking away from them. Still, every time I reset for the show the little trumpet guy in front of me goes, "AHHH! DON'T HIT ME!"
"Dude, I'm not even holding my flag."

They act like I've no idea what I'm doing and I have no concept of my space. After 3½ years, I should hope I know how much space I have.

The people by the new guardies....now I worry about them.

Gotta love pass-throughs. I'm in the same guard as Shriekie and I hit one of the altos last thursday. He looked at me like I was crazy and I was like, "Yes, I may be short but this is a six foot pole, I can't control where the top of it hits you..."

I hit my scared-trumpet-froshie at the football game Friday.... We'd recently changed work and I had a brain-fart..... It's all fixed now. xd

Our retarded visual designer changed the drill for the guard and put ME and only ME in a weird formation in the middle of flutes, tubas and trombones who all overshoot their steps. I have 9 square feet to do work that takes 36 square feet.

Well I accidentally hit a band member on the head from doing a funnel passing through the band. After that I have been hesitating as to do that again. If so I do it carefully as in not as big as the others. It sticks out, but at least I am not hurting a band member. sweatdrop

.I have to pass through a baritone and a French horn in part three with two swing flags & pass through a trombone and another baritone a few counts after the previous pass-through. D;.

Scratch that statement I made about not having passthroughs. I have a swingflag passthrough, and it's such a pain. Because the baritones I have to pass through are real bad at keeping their intervals straight and stuff. Sometimes, I just have to run while doing work to the spot I'm supposed to go to. I swear, doing that pass through is scary. The people I pass through are tall, and big. If they fall down on me or something, I'm going to be squished!

I have no pass throughs this year.
Except I almost got killed by a band member earlier this year....
The band comes a good few feet twards us at this one point, and once this guy came really cose and almost backed up into me, and I jumped to get out of his way.
:3
Good thing it was a practice.
