Marching season is about to start into full swing again! For some of us, it starts this Monday (okay, maybe only me!). For others, it starts withing the next month. And, finally, it may start in Spetember for others. But the point is- it's coming!
With it, I think activity in the guild may go down a bit. Which is sad, but understandable. Be here when you can (if you want), and when you can't- don't sweat it! Those not in marching band- keep up the posting and good work! And have a fun start of the school year!
I'm here to wish you all a happy start to your marching season, and a good luck at all the football games, shows, and competitions! Unless you're going against my band...
Good luck!
A discussion within here can be... Um... The start of marching season (or school) and Band Camp (which starts July 31st for me and goes until the start of school on Aug. 23rd!).

Ours started July 31st at band camp...*gasp* and went on for a week. I hardly got any sleep and my feet killed me. Our show is like Corado, Maleginia (can't spell it), Macho Nacho, and Sun Cat. And our first preformance is in next weeks fair parade. This may sound odd but this year Freshies joined our school so us Juniors and Seniors had to teach 2 classes. It really sucked... but i wonder how they will hold up in the parade!?

Eek! IMEA! I have to somehow manage to get to regionals... maybe now would be a good time to pray. Moving up from junior high to high school is a big jump in music, especially for the low woodwinds, or so I'm told. It certainly is for me.
I wish I could march. It would be so awesome.

We had our first competition last saturday. We did not do so great. sad We got beat by not only Chantilly (our rival) but also a nobody band from Charlotsville! (We got 3rd place over all) we were defending grand champions of this competition, so we were all pretty sad when we lost it. Today when we watched the video I have to admit it looked pretty bad. I have seen videos of our other run throughs and this is the worst yet. We have two weeks untill our next competition, so we have time to fix it. I think (I hope) alot of it was nerves and we will improve. please wish us luck for next time!!!

So far we've had three competitions and placed second at all of them ... Our last one takes place two weeks from now ... Everybody's extremely worked up because this one is usually the toughest, and we don't know which schools are gonna be there ...
