Hey, this is some stuff I pull out every now and then. Ill keep it updated as much as I can, and ill put some old stuff that ive done on in a little bit.
Deep in the ruins of an old castle, a skeleton that clearly had belonged to a female layed covered in ash, and it cluched a badly burned letter. Upon closer inspection, the contents of the letter was able to be revealed.
Dear Beloved,
Although it has been many seasons since my gaze lastfell upon your golden face, the mere mention of your name brings light into the darkened existance I find myself now cast into. The faintest hint of the flowers you so loved in the evening breeze brings me the greatest joy, and a single touch of the favor you tied about my arm last we saw each other brings warmth to my frozen bones in thedarkest and most frozen of nights. My passion and love for you is still as strong now as it was years ago when we first met. Constantly, my thoughts are on you and the family I left under your care. Watch over them. They are this world's hope for a bright future. I wanted to tell you that I will not survive this night. My army marches for the final time in mere hours, and we are vastly out numbered. I love you more that I knew one man could love someone, and I swear to you that we shall be together in the next life.
-Yours Truly for all Eternity, -General Jadoras.

A warrior, nay, a Lord, looks over the landscape, a beautiful forest, over watched by the gentle smile of the moon. His fortress, which has long withstood the forces of evil, now awaits the command, one it knows well. The command that will be carried by the wind, to their very souls. Go, it will whisper. Prepare yourself, and breathe. Battle is upon us, and all that we hold dear is about to be destroyed. You must defend it with your life, for that will be the price. Say goodbye to your loved ones, and then swear to wait for them in the next life. The sun rose reluctantly on that morning, the day on when which humanity vanished from the world, it a final flash of glorious battle that time will remember as the greatest battle in history. Prehaps the sun knew what was to happen. When it did come, it was red. Red as blood, and with it came a sky of fire. The moon disappeared, and it cried as it left. The armies of evil, the demons for which humanity worked so long to banish, had at come to this one place, this last fortress. They extended for eternities across the horizon. Inside the castle, the Lord sat with his Lady for the last time. "My Lord," she said. "Please," he whispered. "help me into my armor." Tears in her eyes, she did as he bade. The shiny steel flashed in the blood red sun, turning it to a sick red color. "My men need me," he said. She nodded, tears running freely down her face. The last tears shed by noble humankind. "For all my life, I have loved you," she said. "I have served by your side through all the troubles and through all times of prosperity. I only ask one thing. That as your spirit goes to join the gods and the brave who have passed before us, that you remember me. Remember my love, through all eternity." He nodded, his soul hurt more than any demon spear in his gut could have." I will remember, and when I am dead, we will walk to the halls of my fathers together. We were always together in this life, and that will not change in the next." The Lady nodded, tears still streaming. She then handed him the final piece of his armor, the great sword of his fathers. The steel was stained black with demon blood, but it also had the aura of the gods. An aura that cried to all who could hear " I am the one who will save you, in the final moments. My dance means your freedom, so take care of me. Watch over me, as surley as I do your loved ones." Without another word, the Lord left the room and joined his men in the courtyard. They all looked like the finest knights that ever rode into battle. The favors of ladies and wives hung around their arms, waving in the breeze like the hands of the ones who gave the favor. The Lord mounted his horse, the finest white stallion that ever walked the earth. The finest that ever would. His shield was handed to him, the shield with his family crest gleaming brightly."Today," he began in a voice of a god, " Today we fight for all we hold dear. Many of you will never see the sun set. All I have asked of you is your loyalty, and your blades. If there are any among you that wish to leave, you may try to do so. None will hold you at fault." No one even moved. "Throughout the ages, humanity has represented hope for all the mortal races. Sence the elves have perished, we have been alone in out quest. The ultimate evil stands on our doorstep, and we will greet it with war cries and our lances. We will leave our mark upon this world, so that those who come after will remember our example." He turned on his mount, and faced the gates. A great demon arose at the head of the army, and bellowed its challenge. In answer, the bells from the fortress rang their message of hope, and the trumpets blared. The demons began to howl, and charged the gates of the castle. The Lord just sat and watched. A telltale twang of bowstrings from the archers was met by hisses of fury from behind the gates. Then it came. The command.. the wind... Go, it said. Do me proud, and you shall sit at the halls of the gods this night. You will be remembered, by those who are left to remember. The souls of men soared, a warcry was raised. "For home, for hearth, and for those we leave behind!" The Lord raised his hand. The gates flung open, and the noble mounts of the humans raced out to battle. In mere moments, the gap between the two armies was closed, and metal met demon flesh, as the lances were driven into the hearts of the foe.
In the end, the charred remains of humanity laid out before the setting sun to see. Scores upon scores of the enemy laid strewn about. An age of darkness has descended upon the world, but there was one last token of good to be laid for all the world to see. When the moon rose that night, a Lady of untold beauty descended to the ground. She walked among the corpses of the humans, and touched their hearts. When she did this, the soul of that man would rise up, and enter the halls of the gods with his family. The last corpse she touched that night was that of a Lord with his hand locked in death's grip on his sword, which laid in the heart of the Demor Lord. She smiled slightly, and a tear fell to the ground. His soul rose up, and looked at the Lady and nodded. The sword was passed to her, to be used when humanity could at last regain its foothold upon the world. In glory he so richly diserved, the Lord walked into the Halls of the gods, and sat at the right side of He who is Light, and all was well with him. His Lady sat at his side, and their child was safe with the Lady who came from the moon. With a final smile, and a tear, the Lady of the Moon vanished, and all was made to be dark, on this and every other night for a thousand years.
You may wonder who I am, to write this document. To be cought with this would surley mean your death, if the demons found out. I applaud your courage, and your willingness to believe, to think, and most of all, to fight for what is right. You know not who I am, but I will say anyway. My name in Elven is too complicated for most humans, so I will say who I am to you. I am Varis the Bard, Varis Talespinner, but mostly I am the winds of truth. Your soul stirs, you know I do not lie.
For Home, Hearth, and for those we have loved and lost!

Gift of the Rain.
I saw beauty in the rain, Beauty that took away my pain.

Something new.. I was working on this one for a while, and it was just asking to be completed, so I did. Hope y'all enjoy it
There once lived a man who was born to the poorest family in the world. His mother was never allowed to marry, and he was forced to work very hard for what little food he had. Nights were often spent with hunger so powerful that he would chew on his fist until it would bleed. When he grew older, he decided that he would no longer accept that life. The man worked so hard that he would forget to eat, even when he did have food. Soon, the day came when he could at last walk the streets a proud person, like someone his deceased mother would be proud to call her son. He had everything he could possible want, yet there was still an empty spot in his heart which he spent endless time trying to fill. Then one day, she entered his life. Her origins were every bit as rough as his, her fist was just as scarred. Together they became far more than they could have ever been alone. She was a radiant beign of infinite beauty and wisdom. He was a pillar of strength, a foundation to support her in every way he could.
For years they lived happily, prosperous and they never were hungry. The scars on their hands faded. Then one day an invading army from a neighboring country came. The rivers ran red, and the stars hid themselves from the destruction that happened every night. Their lives were shattered, they returned to the streets, always hiding. But somehow, they didn't care. Every night they cried, but that was not for lost possessions, or the lack of food. They cried for their countrymen who died at the hands of this terrible enemy. Everynight they huddled together facing trial after trial, and their love for eachother only grew.
A year passed and the enemy found them. They were taken and beaten and tortured and after many days of pain, they died. Yet during all this, they could not bring themselves to beg to be saved. The love they felt for each other was so intense that they could only give thanks to God because they were dying as they had lived. Together.
Even now you can visit their grave, where a mighty oak tree has grown as a monument to their love and strength and as a reminder to remember and treasure the things that are truly important.
