Bunny Jones Kaiba goes from someone who is actually civil to someone who hates everyone (except Mokuba) and doesn't believe in anything. He's the reason there are no fairies! gonk Also, the sub version is actually more drastic and dramatic than the dub version. In fact, as i've said in the Manga randomness thread, he makes more and longer speeches than Dub version Anzu...

The dub does have a knack for making emotional moments into jokes. >_>! That's the reason I can't stand the dub of GX.
And in his speeches in the sub I'm pretty sure he just doesn't go on and on about how stupid it is to believe in their Egyptian pasts. I'm not sure, since I've only watched a few Japanese Battle City episodes. In the dub it seems like he can't grasp the situation at all, where in the sub he can.

Yeah, I know what you mean about them turning emotional moments into jokes. Is it because they're guys or what?
Or is it that they don't think children can grasp emotions?

You know (And you probably already did) they cut out Yugi's mom entirely? Now every one thinks that yugi is some sort of orphin or something.

Mom's aren't kidsafe. They're scary, scary people. In fact, all adults are! Which is why most of them are evil! Or really old, but old people can't do anything, so they're ok. :3
I found that really weird, same as most people I bet. o_o! I remember first seeing her in the manga and wondering who that lady was and freaked out when I figured out it was his mom. Maybe that's why they cut her out, because they thought kids would be confused? Or maybe they couldn't find a good female VA to do her voice for that one line she had? Who knows.

I know I've heard that Yuugi has a mom. I've even seen that one screenshot of her. What season did she appear? Because I was thinking she was in season "0" for some reason.
Now that you mention 'orphan' that is a good point. I wonder how many people wonder if Yuugi's parents died. I have no idea what they do or where they are for that matter.

It was in the second series. I forgot the exact episode, but I remember she was supposed to be outside Yuugi's door listening to him talk to himself. And she thought he was crazy. XD
I've heard that his dad is really busy with work and has to go to America a lot. I'm not entirely sure, so someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
Now that I think about it, I always assume the parents are somewhere else in anime, instead of dead. Unless someone in the anime says, 'So-and-so's parents are dead.' Parents in anime are rare, I think, dead or alive, so I don't really jump to the conclusion of being an orphan that often.

yeah, thats true. I'vfe gotten so used to not seeing parents in anime. The first anime that I actually saw a lot of parents in was Digimon. They had entire families and everything, which I thought was pretty cool since it was something different.
I think Yuugi's mom is probably the only parent ever in Yuugiou.
Dartz doesn't really count for me confused

Yes, I remember that too. I thought it gave the characters more background and more realistic to show them with their families. 3nodding
I guess we're not counting Goza either.
There was Jou's mom in the episode when we first meet Shizuka/Serenity. There was also Professor Hawkins and Grampa. ...ok, they're grandparents, but they're somebody's parents. o_o! Ryou's dad was in there once, too, when he bought the M. Ring in that flashback.
And I think I remember Siegfried's mom being in there at some point, but I might've imagined it. sweatdrop

I can't believe I forgot Gozaburo. He was in a ton of episodes gonk
I just kind of forgot since they're usually in episodes between duels. Plus the last Egyptian season, Grandpa and Proffessor Hawkins were the most prominent adults. Oh! And Atemu's father was there too!
Wow, I didn't realise there were so many.

Mako's father appears in a flashback or two, too. o_o Geez, it's like a 'Find the parent!' game.
