I love riddles (though I truly suck at solving them sweatdrop ) But I thought it would be a good idea to make a contest of riddles...
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- And of course there must be rules. whee arrow Follow the Poll Masters rules. arrow No flaming, etc, etc. Play nice and don't make fun of people who get the answers wrong! arrow Don't lash out on me if the riddles are too hard for you. xd arrow Keep all the posts related to this contest and its riddles! Lenient on this..I won't delete your posts if you go off topic, but I ask that you don't. Not until the contest is over anyways.... arrow Each person may only guess once for every riddle!! If you guess more than once, it will not count! So don't do it, because somebody else can steal your answer and win the prize!! arrow If, however the riddle is too hard for everybody, I may let you have more than one shot at it. I will let you know how many guesses you get (if more than one)! arrow Please, if you heard the riddle before and know the answer, let somebody else get it...And I'm talking about the easy riddles. If its a hard one, or even a little hard, and you don't think anybody will figure out the answer, go ahead and claim the prize for yourself. (You get more gold for harder riddles anyways) I'm not being strict on this rule, so its really up to you. arrow You must explain your answer or else it won't count!!! (Unless said otherwise) arrow You are allowed to google this stuff. It wouldn't be as much fun if you do so, but again, its your choice..gold diggers..I don't care how you come up with the answer as long as the answer is correct. (And you are the first to post the answer of course) arrow Go ahead and argue if you disagree with an answer. (I love riddle disputes..Show off my intellect xp ) I'm really lenient, so if what you say is really logical and such, I'd be happy to accept your answer.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Feel free to Donate to me!!! blaugh The more donations I get, the more riddles I'll have. And the bigger the prizes you get!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Riddle Number One If you were to spell out numbers, how far would you have to go until you would find the letter "A"? Note: For this one I am accepting four possible answers! No explanation needed for 3 of the 4....There is an original answer. But I found some clever "loop holes". You are allowed one guess but if it is correct, you can guess another time, and so on. I don't think anybody can get all four, but it is a possibility that someone gets 4x the prize.........................Now accepting all answers to this riddle!!! Don't even wait for me to tell you if it is right or not. Post everything that you think can be correct and I'll get back to you. I'll just accept the first correct answers posted.
Hint: The one answer that requires an explanation, might require some googling and research.
One Thousand
Not accepting anymore answers. Done.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Riddle Number Two A scientist was leading an archaeological dig deep in South America. One day he was captured by head-hunters. He was taken to their leader and the leader told Mr. Scientist, "You will be allowed to say one true-false statement. If the statement is true, you will be burned alive. If the statement is false, you will be boiled in hot fat." What was the only thing the scientist could say to save his life?
Note:A lot of people told me a different answer and though I don't really like their answer, I guess it would work.... neutral So I'll be accepting two possible answers for this riddle.
Hint: Its not that hard. No hints for you! twisted
"Everything I say is a lie" "I will be boiled in hot fat"
Done
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Riddle Number Three As I was going to St. Ives, I met a man with seven wives, the seven wives had seven sacks, the seven sacks had seven cats, the seven cats had seven kittens; kittens, cats, sacks and wives, how many were going to St. Ives?
Note:I heard this a few years ago. But it rhymes. And its cool. So enjoy this freebie.
Hint: No hints. This is the easiest riddle!!
One
Done----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Riddle Number Four A man wanted to enter an exclusive club but did not know the password that was required. He waited by the door and listened. A club member knocked on the door and the doorman said, "twelve." The member replied, "six " and was let in. A second member came to the door and the doorman said, "six." The member replied, "three" and was let in. The man thought he had heard enough and walked up to the door. The doorman said ,"ten" and the man replied, "five." But he was not let in. What should have he said?
Note:For your answer to count, you must explain!
Hint: This is one of the easier riddles. No hint.
He should have said three. The password is the number of letters in the word that the doorman says. There are six letters in the word twelve. There are three letters in the word six. And there are three letters in the word ten, so that is why he should have said three.
Done----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Riddle Number Five In a contest, four fruits (an apple, a banana, an orange, and a pear) have been placed in four closed boxes (one fruit per box). People may guess which fruit is in which box. 123 people participate in the contest. When the boxes are opened, it turns out that 43 people have guessed none of the fruits correctly, 39 people have guessed one fruit correctly, and 31 people have guessed two fruits correctly. How many people have guessed three fruits correctly, and how many people have guessed four fruits correctly?
Note:For your answer to count, you must explain!
Hint: No hint.
It is not possible to guess three correctly, because then the fourth fruit would have to be correct too. 123-43-39-31=10. So 10 people guessed all four fruits correctly and nobody guessed three.
Done----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Riddle Number Six A man without eyes saw plums in a tree. He neither took plums nor left plums. How can this be?
Note:For your answer to count, you must explain!
Hint: The answer is not anything metaphysical or otherworldly. I guess you can say it has to do with word play, but not so much as the usual word play type riddles.
The man did not have eyes. He had an eye. He did not take plums, he took a plum.
Done----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Riddle Number Seven Halo of water, tongue of wood, skin of stone, long I've stood. My fingers short reach to the sky, inside my heart men live and die. What am I?
Note:You can explain if you want. It would help everybody understand how you got the answer. But I think its pretty obvious when you say the answer, so no explanation is really needed.
Hint: None. These types of riddles are easy.
The Earth A castle
Done
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Riddle Number Eight What row of numbers come next? 1 11 21 1211 111221 312211 13112221
Note:For your answer to count, you must explain!
Hint: It sort of hard, but not really...I wish I could, but there is no hint I can give that wont give the answer away.
Each row describes the row above. So the next row would have to be 1113213211
Done----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Riddle Number Nine A dozen Royals gathered round, Entertained by two who clowned. Each King there had servants ten, Though none of them were also men. The lowest servant sometimes might, Defeat the King in a fair fight. A weapon stout, a priceless jewel, The beat of life, a farmer's tool. What are we talking about here folks?
Note:No explanation needed.
Hint: None.
A deck of cards
Done----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Riddle Number Ten There was a man who needed a haircut and he was in a small town and it was miles away from any other town and he decided he had a few hours to kill and so he figured he would use the extra time to figure out which barber was better so he went to the first barber and he saw a somewhat poorly dressed man with a shabby haircut outdated chair and he had just the bare necessities and then the man walked over to the other shop and that barber had a nice haircut and newer razers and sissors and had alot of chairs and the whole place looked A-1 ---but the man decided to go back to other shop to get his hair cut. Why did the man go to the 1st shop?
Note:The answer is an explanation!
Hint: None. This riddle is easier than the one of St. Ives!
Because there weren't any towns close by, and only two barbers, they had to cut each other's hair. So the good looking barber cut the ugly looking barber's hair and vice versa.
