Me, I can't really decide. After all there are so many excellent reasons! I belive mainly it's the freedom for me. There aren't many place on this earth that are even close to as free as the ocean. The peace of it is another big factor. I enjoy the fishing, sailing, and the fighting. Can't forget the rum either! pirate

I stayed away from the rum this time and voted for fighting and raiding other ships. I reckon you must get a great adrenaline rush from it. If you are good at fighting it must be hell of alot of fun. Second would probably be the freedom... being able to sail where ever you want to and being governed by your own set of rules.
From the sound of your introduction maesterlaguna you are probably the one closest to actually living out the pirate dream. mrgreen Good for you!

I'm going for fishing for my food! lol okay so it's not exciting, but that idea that you don't work for anybody else but yourself, and that you can just get food like that whenever you need. I guess after that would be the freedom and the ability to explore anywhere you like with no restrictions.

I read the book Pirates, thinking it would be rubbish. But actually- it gave me a few good ideas about Pirate life.
I'd go for either the Rum...
Or... rum maybe freedom.

I mean, personally I don't like rum... but... need I remind you guys that you don't need to be a pirate to get rum? sweatdrop Freedom is much harder to get than rum, and it lasts longer. Plus, no hangover.

I'm glad the inherant need for there to be crew on a ship is realized and accepted. You really can't have a well run ship without a hearty crew. The rum will always make the company more interesting. But you can't really get to the freedom without the ship running smoothly and for that you need a tip top crew. (Who is probably a little drunk) xd

Freedom not just of the ship, but the freedom to do whatever one wants, to follow one's heart.

I'm gonna have to say freedom... sailing away on the open sea, while the sun beats down on your back, swigging away at a bottle of rum.... no one telling you to do your schoolwork or do this chore or that chore (other than sailing the ship, that is XD).
