Anyways. Aren't we sick and tired of the Symphoniacs (used when related to noobs who think Tales of Symphonia is the best game ever) spamming up the VGD and making us look like idiots? We, the hard-core fans, the real fans, of the series can be made the laughing stock of those who only know of Symphonia and hate it and think we're stupid, or even by the Symphoniacs that insist that we know nothing of the series and that Symphonia is the best or else we're not true fans.
First off, it's not the best, it never has been the best.
Second off, I have decided that a little message be posted to stop these topics. I just wrote it in a previous topic, and I think it works for the most part, feel free to add to it if you feel the need:
Quote:
Once upon a time Namco made the 5th Tales game, under their sub-company, Tales Studio. The game was called Tales of Symphonia and they re-hired Kousuke Fujishima to do the artwork for them unlike the previous 3.
Sadly, they spent all of their money getting decent looking characters, and not enough plot development, character development or any development of the sort. It was basically just a Tales game in 3D. The battle system itself was nothing special, why oh why they didn't try to change some things up on the battle system was unknown, but they released it anyways.
It's story was not well liked by TRUE Tales of fans, in fact, many RPG fanatics for the fact that it had copied many RPG cliches not just in general, but from previous Tales games. None of it's plot was original, and it showed the most when it was proven to be a prequel to the most popular and still most sold Tales game, as well as the first: Tales of Phantasia. The rest of Symphonia's plot if not blatantly ripped off Phantasia was ripped off of Destiny, Eternia and even Destiny 2. Plus, Symphonia had the lamest excuse for a villain.
The game sold decently... But owners of the PS2, where Tales games had been in the past, were pissed that it was Gamecube only. So Tales Studio re-released it for the PS2, with extra goodies that the GCN version could either just not handle, or just because they could. The PS2 version was released around the same exact time as the US release of the GCN version, which NoA was smart about and bought rights to so it could only be exclusively for GCN.
People bought and thought it was good, more people bought and more and more and more and more. Sadly, with this many people buying it, too many complete and utter idiots claiming it to be the best RPG were created from it. Symphonia is nothing of the sort, sadly. And this shows, in Japan, once Rebirth was released in late 2004, most ditched Symphonia and went to the BETTER game. Rebirth is still selling well in Japan, whereas both Symphonia versions are becoming more and more rare.
The only reason why Symphonia was so successful for Namco was because of the many morons in the US that had no idea of how corny and cliche the game was, as well as how bad some of the voice-acting was. Whether or not they cared or were just brain-washed mutants was never figured out. But they still exist and still insist upon the fact that ToS is the best game ever. Thus, it seems that such games as "FFVII" have faded out of view of complete idiocy and only for the hardcore fans, whereas too many morons now go prancing around thinking they know everything about a series that wasn't successful in the US until they're noobish ideals made it successful.
Today more Symphonia topics are made here on Gaia than nearly any other game. It not only drives regulars insane of how many people can just go and make a post saying, "OMG TOZ IZ TEH BEAST!!", but it also drives hard-core Tales fans insane as to how stupid and close-minded the Symphoniacs are to the real series, and all of the better games.
Save us a favor, stop the ToS threads, please.

If you support this movement, copy this into a ToS topic you see on the first page of VGD, make sure that it hasn't already been marked by someone else though. (Or if 10 pages have past and no one has noticed it)
Seems dumb, but hey. I'm getting really sick of it now. It needs to stop, they need to move on and realize that Symphonia is just FFVII, not that great and over-rated beyond hell.
SUPPORT THE MOVEMENT!
