i draw manga, someday i hope to make a living off it, but for now i still need practice. mostly on comic layout and dialogue. people tell me i'm good, but i have that low selfesteem thing that most artists have about their art. oh and proportion can give me a little trouble sometimes, too. the only things i have mastered drawing are weapons and magic. cause im a freak. xp

my favorite medium is charcoal pencils,
i use whatever paper i can lay my hands on.
i've studied art for 3 years by good teachers.
i just like rambling, so say anything you want
to in this thread.

I usually draw with pencil, I recently bought some charcoal pencils to draw, but have yet to be taught how to draw with them sad .

I wish I could help, but the last time I tried to teach art my student tried to stab me with their pencil. My advice is to first learn how to hold the charcoal, you don't hold it like a pencil - its held more like chalk is. Oh, its also really messy. If you don't want your charcoal pictures to smear after you've drawn them, i suggest buying a fixative to spray on it (usually inexpensive at most art stores). good luck with the charcoal.

I love art and I also draw my own manga images. I used to also scan them into my computer and do some CG art. My favourite medium would have to be the graphite pencils.
Charcoal is nice but I don't quite like using it since it's pretty messy.

Well my fave medium... graph pencil, i can't draw when i realy want to rarely do i draw anything decent on paper; i find myself in class drawing characters and then later wishing that i had drawn it on paper....

i...have no experience in anything else, but pencil...
even still, i don't like the wood pencil *only for pictures i will actually take the time of doing...*
instead i have to use my mechanical pencil to get what i envisioned...it may seem really low tech and stuff, but I draw best with it...
Unfortunately, I'm a noob at charcoal and oil pastel and stuff...so i can't use them without screwin up badly...^^;

My fav managka is Makot Tateno she made alot of mangas one of my fav is CutexGuy it was really an enjoyable manga to read and I had alot of laughts.
