The quiet clearing in the woods was a perfect spot for practicing. Especially on such a nice, warm day, with the lazy breeze rippling across the grass and floating through the trees along the outer edge.

Kaleb lay on his back at the very center of the clearing, one arm held up to cast a small circular shield. In the middle of the shield a handful of brown leaves from last fall fluttered around, tossed by the light wind but trapped by the invisible barriers.

Ukitake walked through the woods, whistling a soft song as he plaied the air guitar to the song. He would usually have the accuial guitar, but he didn't have one at the moment. His long white hair blew in the soft breeze as he walked. He saw something laying on the ground, and a few more steeps he saw it was Kaleb. "Morning." He called out as he dropped his arms.

Kaleb jumped a bit, accidentally releasing his spell and letting the leaves flutter away. He sat up with a smile though, leaves were easy enough to find anyway. "Good morning!" He replied cheerfully, "It's a really nice day to be outside."

Ukitake smiled, and looked around. "Yeah, great day for a walk." He said as he sat down in front of Kaleb. "What are you doing out here? I would have expected you to still be working on that invisibility spell." He said as he sat with his legs crossed.

Kaleb looked down, idly picking at the grass as Ukitake joined him. "I feel like I've been trying too hard to get that one to work, it's been giving me a bit of a headache." The litte mage smiled as the wind tossed his hair around a bit. "I wanted to break for a bit and practice my shielding spells, but it's not so much fun without anyone to practice with."

Ukitake nodded. "Yeah, I see what you mean." He looked around. "I know whats like to fight an invisible apponiant." he looked back to Kaleb. "It isen't that fun." he smiled.

The small mage smiled lopsidedly, that was exactly it. "Before I came to the shop I used to practice with a swordsman, but I don't know anyone like that here..." Kaleb's eyes took on a hesitant look as he glanced over to Ukitake. "Y-you wouldn't happen know anyone who wouldn't mind practicing with me, would you?"

Ukitake looked over to him, and smiled, "Well, the only sword fighter I know is Shunsui. But I think he might be a little busy with his own things." He said. "I could help of you want. I might not be what you're looking for, but I can try." He said standing up.

Kaleb's eyes widened, and he scrambled to his feet. "Y-you know how to fight?" The healer brushed the dirt off his jeans and smiled. "Even if it's not swordfighting, any kind of sparring is good practice."

He smiled, and laughed as Kaleb stood up. "Hehe, I am a fighter, pretty good with a sword too." He said as he stood up, and placed a hand on the hilt of his sowrd that rested in its sheeth.

Kaleb hadn't noticed the sword before Ukitake's gesture, but that made him smile more. Defending against a single blade was what he had most practice in, although he was also pretty good at holding his own against twin swords.

The mage's smile faltered for a second though, he couldn't imagine the other Audio to be anything but highly competent with his weapon. He wasn't afraid of being hurt, but he didn't want the other to get bored with his skill level.

"You're sure you don't mind practicing with me?" Kaleb asked hesitantly, "I-I'm not so good with my offense, but I'll try to keep up."

He shuckled lightly. "Don't worry." He said lightly as he smiled down to him. "I'm happy to help." He said as his smile fadded into a passive expresion. "Why don't you show me your shield first to start off." He said as he folded his arms within the large sleeves of his kimono.

Kaleb nodded. "I'll have to make it visible, usually I don't bother." He brought his arm up, and a translucent blue disk appeared maybe an inch away from his fingertips. "I-I could keep it visible while we're practicing though, if you wanted, I've been told the invisible shield is rather... disconcerting?"

The small mage let his arm drop, and the magical shield dissipated. "Either way, I'm ready whenever you are."

He nodded, inspecting the shield. "I'm always ready." He said as he looked him up and down. "Hold it back up. I need to see how strong it is." He said as he came a few steeps closer to the mage.

Kaleb brought the shield back out so Ukitake could examine it. "This one is a pretty basic shield. It doesn't require a lot of magical energy, but if your attacks are too strong I have more durable weaves." He had been in situations where his shields were shattered by a strong attack, so luckily he knew how to recover from such an occurence.
