RULES FOR MEMEBERS OF THIS GUILD.
When Making A Thread:
1. ALWAYS keep it within the Gaia TOS. I do not want to lose my guild.
2. Attempt to keep it Miyavi related, please. If you can connect it with Miyavi in some way, you can probably make it.
3. INFORMATIVE. I want informative threads, guys. It is always appreciated when you know what you're looking at, instead of just one post that says "Miyavi is sexy!". Please, at least put something other then that. Then take the time to realize this is a guild about MUSIC, not always image. It's okay some of the time, like in the specifically established threads, but I don't want multiple threads about nearly the same thing. Informative threads also means, PLEASE DO NOT MAKE AN INTRODUCTION THREAD WHEN YOU JOIN THE GUILD. We have one static introduction sticky and that's enough.
4. I will NOT tolerate hate threads. You cannot make an entire thread dedicated to the slandering of Miyavi, Due le Quartz, PSCompany etc. You can post your opinion, you just can't abuse it.
5. Do not start threads involving rumors. If you have a question about a possible rumor that you want clarified, post in the official thread EXACTLY FOR that purpose. Don't make new threads asking about rumors.
6. Refrain from making repeat threads. Look around the forum, is there a thread already like the one you have in mind?
7. Please refrain from making versus threads. These aren't even allowed in the International forum and they won't be tolerated here either as this is a guild *purely* devoted to Miyavi. We're not pitting him against other artists because this is *HIS* guild and such a thread would promote bashing toward one artist or another and as we don't even want hate threads about Miyavi, Due le Quartz, PS Company, UNIVERSAL Music, etc. so a versus thread is out of the question. Not only that, but such threads have a tendency to not promote music discussion, but rather promote a lot of inane chatter and SPAM that focuses more on the artist's image and talk about something completely irrelevent to the guild in a war of opinions that can't really be solved in the end because everyone has a different opinion.
8. If you want to discuss a single or PV, please note that we want to try to consolidate as much of the information as possible, so we ask that you take these discussions to the thread on Miyavi's work overall. We don't really find it necessary to discuss each individual single in its own thread. Also remember that you don't need to make a thread about a new releasing of a single/album, we do that all for you in the guild and news announcement.
When Posting:
1. Again, keep it in the TOS. You know what's right and wrong to post, some things you just don't do.
2. NO ADVERTISING. Don't post links to your own threads and guilds. It's just annoying. If you want to be linked, ask me or a mod and we can decide to put you in the link section or not.
3. Keep your posts Miyavi related. Of course, you can go off topic sometimes, just realize that this IS a Miyavi guild. As such, this means you can bring up another artist in a discussion, *IF* you're somehow trying to relate them to Miyavi in some way. Not to *compete* against them, but in order to better explain your argument or even your taste palette.
4. Don't flame, plznthx. You can argue an issue, but you can't flame. Flaming in my opinion is just rudely yelling/swearing/threatening/or name-calling. Everyone has different opinions, you don't need to b***h at them for it. Argue the issue, don't scream at them.
5. Don't harass the mods. Are you stupid?
6. When posting pictures, please limit them to no more than 5 pictures per post. This mostly applies to the Miyavi Gallery, but it's necessary so that we can show some respect for some of us who are still using dial-up connections or have limited bandwidth. In creations, the limit is much the same except for JPG/PNG/non-animated GIF icons which are relatively small files to begin with. Animated gifs would apply under this rule too, but please be aware of the length and size of the gif as well. If it is incredibly long and elaborate, you might want to just post that gif only. Granted a limit of 5, will still allow there to be a heavy amount of pictures on a page, but spreading them out will in the end do some good with say only 75 images per page rather than there being like 120 or something per page without a limit. The discography section is the one exception to this rule because much of those images are made with the intention of fast loading speed and were taken right off the official website. They are also a necessary aid in helping people to support Miyavi by acquiring his work.
When Downloading/Uploading Music:
1. Try not to upload albums or full singles. If someone is having a hard time trying to find a certain song to sample and you want to help them out? Then that's perfectly fine. But don't upload entire albums or full singles (unless the single is just one song like Kimi ni Negai o). If you REALLY can't afford to buy his music, then there are places out there that can help you. We are not them.
2. Again, try to keep the music/clips you upload related to Miyavi.
3. If you download something someone uploaded, tell the person. It's always nice to hear your uploads are appreciated.
4. REMEMBER the uploads are for sampling purposes only. Delete after 24 hours. If you do not, I will not be held responsible for your actions and the consequences that might follow.
5. For shits sake, support the bands and artists. No band/artist can survive without people buying their stuff. DOWNLOADING EVERYTHING IS NOT SUPPORTING THEM. For links to stores in which you can purchase CDs and accessories, check out the official links sticky.
These are very straight-forward rules, I'd have to say. If you have any questions about them, feel free to post here. Do not flood mine or the mods inboxes.
This announcement will be updated occasionally with new rules. Check back often.
