He is the former guitarist from Due le Quartz known then as Miyabi. He was in the band from June 1999 to September 2002 when the band eventually broke up. Shortly after that, he announced that he was going solo and changed his name to Miyavi. His first release was his album "Gagaku" and then two singles "POP IS DEAD" and "Shindemo Boogie-Woogie" which followed shortly after with PS Company serving as both his manager and label. In October of 2004, he made his major debut on the UNIVERSAL Music (of Japan) label with PS Company remaining his management. He's made a great amount of improvement in his music and singing since he embarked on his solo career, and he'll only get stronger as he continues on as a major artist with his latest singles hitting pretty high on Oricon charts upon release. BIO:*This is a mixture off both the bio info from Night in Girl (which has now officially closed down) and the Official website O-re-sa-ma bio pages.
Official name: 雅-miyavi- (Note: It's recently been changed to 雅-miyavi-様 [Miyavi-sama], but because the stroke count looks bad, that's been put on hold for now.) (Note2: To advance into overseas markets he's called himself ''MYV'', but he's kind of given up on that for now)
Occupation: Singing and dancing guitarist
Birthday: September 14, 1981
Horoscope: Virgo / Pegasus*
Birthplace: Nishikujo, Konohana-ku, Osaka-shi, Osaka-fu, Japan (West 9th Street, Konohana Ward, Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture, Japan)
Hometown: Kawanishi-shi, Hyougo-ken (On his official website though, he remarks that it's "kind of like half" in reference to his half Korean ancestry)
Blood type: AB / Indecisive
Height: 183 cm - 185 cm (About 6''1'; depending on time, place, and occassion)
Weight: Bandam, the weight of two feather weight champions.
Hobby: Napping, wearing female clothes
Special skill: Oresama (not the film; but this is his reply meaning himself and it's also a kind of "attitude" where you're kind of conceited and selfish although he isn't really and is actually a really nice guy in person)
Eyesight: Has a weakness for sweets (only now he's prohibited from eating them)
Hairdo: Kitarou Hair / Kobochan Cut**
Shoe size: The size of his heart
Ring size: Sorry, he doesn't know
Favorite tobacco: Pipe (literally; he actually refers to the stick thing he uses to help him quit smoking)
Favorite food: Chocolate cake, inarizushi, chicken, and of course, sweets.
Least favorite food: Broccoli and tomato juice
Favorite drink: Protein
Favorite type: He especially likes females.
Favorite color: Lately, it's been an absurd pink (Probably like the MYV☆POPS cover)
Favorite People: Muddy Waters / Keb'Mo' / Raul Midon / Preston Reed / Keziah Jones / Savion Glover / Chris Cunningham / Magritte / Basquiat / Brian Warner (AKA Marilyn Manson) / Maeda Keijirou / Kan san / hide / Fujiike / Kicchomu / Gorugo 13 (in no particular order)
Favorite brand: John Galliano / Dress Camp / Don Ed Hardy / LeSportsac / Miyavi Goods / Room No. 382
Favorite guitars: Gibson J-45 1956 / National Style-O / Rainsong JM1000 / Killer flying-Y (Oh man, Miyavi Engrished here and called it a "frying-Y")
Favorite trunks: Playboy
Favorite sunglasses: Christian Roth
Favorite fragrance: Yvessaintlaurent Baby Doll / Dior addict
Specialty: Guitar
Not Good At: Singing (He's concentrating/determined with it)
Favorite Motto: "Trouble?...I don't really have one, but if you force me to say it, I'll have a lot of mottos and that'll be a problem."
*Pegasus refers to another "horoscope" like thing. I''ve seen other artists call themselves this as well. I think it''s referring to this thing called CharaNavi. Nowadays the term refers to something else, but a year or so ago it referred to this horoscope-like system that helped people find the kind of jobs they were suited for or something. **Miyavi references two different manga to try to describe his current hair style. Click the links for pictures of the manga.Credit goes to Yilei for gathering the information.

Note on this track: I'm iffy about the reading because initially he had the song titled "Kabuki BOIZ" and then he changed the spelling slightly to "Kavki BOIZ" and now he's put the title in kanji. It all basically means the same thing, but what the *actual* title is has me confused right now.
Three types of this single are to be expected just like in the previous singles prior to "Kimi ni Negai o". First press will reportedly get a poster and Types A & B of course come with DVDs.
For all three versions of the single, you have a chance to go on a trip to go see a public performance in Korea. You have to be in Japan to enter though because you have to enter by phone either by accessing the site or calling in. There'll be a slip inside the CD case with a number on it and further details. Basically it's a drawing and you enter it for a chance to win the trip. There'll be 4 winners and they'll be going on the trip in pairs. Applicants need to have a passport beforehand and should be over 20 years old (the legal age in Japan). For those who are minors, they need parent/guardian permission *BEFORE* they enter the contest.
While there will only be 4 winners, all applicants who enter will get a song for a present (which appears to be the 3rd track of the regular edition). You can enter from June 19 - June 27 at midnight. The winners will be announced on June 29.

Similar to previous singles, there are three versions of the single, however, the format will be slightly different. There isn't going to be a double A-side swap thing happening. The tracks are going to be the same, except for the regular version which'll have a 3rd track voted on by fans participating in the 7 SAMURAI SESSIONS event.
Type A will have a DVD with compilation footage from Miyavi's performance in Germany as well as 30 minutes of making footage for the Subarashiki kana, Kono Sekai-WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD- PV. This version will also feature a wonderful 32 page snapshot photobook from Miyavi's time in Los Angeles, a special sleeve case, and an application insert to go to a special event.
Type B has a DVD for the PVs of both of the main songs on the singles as well as an entry form on the CD sleeve.
The regular edition has the mystery 3rd track, plus an entry form on the CD sleeve as well.
For a special promotion for people who buy all three versions of the single, 5 groups of 10 people can win a chance for premium seats on the Christmas Neo Visualism concert on December 25, 2007 at the CC Lemon Hall. After the concert, those same winners will then have a chance to go to the green room back stage for an after party. In the A type version, there's a postcard where you can sticker on some kind of proof of purchase that's in each version. The cut off date for applications is November 19, 2007. More details are included on the enclosed insert for entry.
*Please note that because the event is being held IN JAPAN, it is probably limited to Japan only. *Note on the title. The Japanese language does not actually utilize a "v" sound anywhere in it. Usually in katakanized form, a b sound is subtituted for a v, so the title should actually read like "Kabuki Boys", but Miyavi was being creative and messed with the lettering.
**Note 2: On the previous preliminary tracklist, Ippiki Ookami Ron was listed, but now it has been removed. Could this mean a future surprise?
The limited edition version comes with a DVD that'll have some bonus features including commentary by Miyavi and a live version of "Ossan Ossan Ore Nanbo". The DVD itself is generally a performance of most of the songs on the mini-album. The song that's left out is "Kimi ni Negai o" as instead they performed "Ossan Ossan Ore Nanbo".
The songs listed appear to be songs that have been released before, but apparently remixed to Miyavi's most recent style as of the 5 Day live this past fall (Tap, Turntable, MC, Drums, etc.)
The people that got the first press of the regular version will have a raffle entry form enclosed with their mini-album that could win them a chance to preview a new song Miyavi will be releasing in the fall. The people participating in this event also get to VOTE for the new tracks on the upcoming single.DVDsThese are aside from the DVDs that come with limited versions of the singles. The ones that come with the limited edition singles are just the PVs of the song(s) on the single.

This live was rather special because it was more performing art rather than a rock concert. The following is an excerpt from the English version of the site that officially describes these lives:
For Miyavi to start 2007, The last and the only live performance in Japan "5days in TOKYO Geijutsu gekijo" at 9/18 has picturized. A state to play is the best part which Miyavi energetically plays guitar with the original solo style, performance collaborated with a tap dancer, percussionist, human beat boxer, turn table player, GigPig drummer, and also a Japanese drum player.
This is an entertainment art article of surprise to give all any people regardless of age or sex surprise and satisfaction. The first press has 5 luxurious privileges of extra contents including documentary film and more. Please enjoy the musicality and possibility of Miyavi who breaks a frame of Visual Kei Rock. Books*This is an incomplete list. Not featured would be some special photo books that he did and pamphlets that were released at tours. Due le Quartz photobooks are also not featured here.
Wagahai ISBN-4-8401-0850-1 -A photo essay book with pictures of Miyavi during the shoot of Oresama, hanging around town (with other people), hanging out with some kids, going to malls, and other things. The essay portion of it is mostly Miyavi's commentary on previous parts of his life like when he was home, his first love, people important to him when he was a kid, his time in Due le Quartz, what it was like to go solo, etc. An inspiring read for those who can read Japanese although it has little more than a reflective connection to the photos seen in it.
Gakincho ISBN4-8401-1142-1 -A photo book from 2004 featuring photos from Miyavi's tours throughout that year including his lives and travels in Korea. It also shows photos from the special fan club live he did before he had his major debut, the Last Indies Live, shots from back stage, shots in his hotel room, an interview, and a few pictures from his fakey "wedding" where he "married" UNIVERSAL Music.
Japanese Seiyou Kabureburari, Michinoku Hitoritabi in USA PSGM-0091 -A photobook which features Miyavi's travels in the United States. He visited Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and New York where he took pictures at various tourist locations including Santa Monica, in front of the Paris Casino, and Coney Island.
JE VOUS SOUHAITE UN BON ANNIVERSAIRE ISBN-4861135044 -A new photobook coming out on September 7th with 100 all color pages as an anniversary special for Miyavi's 25th birthday. It features photos of Miyavi in Paris, France and comes with a clear file (a jacket that preserves the artbook). Most of the pictures feature Miyavi in several different outfits in various parts of France with different angles and shots. Some shots were even taken with a soft focus lense so they have a very smooth and ethereal feel to them. Other shots are extremely detailed and you can clearly see the freckles on his face. Some of the pictures going to the shops and buying himself his own birthday cake and celebratory items.
Miyavizm Band Score ISBN-4401352688 -A book containing the sheet music for every part of a band necessary to play the songs on the Miyavizm album. The FULL lyrics (including all the miscellaneous things that Miyavi says that aren't written into the lyrics in the CD booklet) for the vocal are also written onto the sheet music. A great investment for the curious or if you have your own band. wink MYV☆POPS Band Score Release date: October 30, 2006 ISBN-4401353137 -A book containing the sheet music for every part of a band necessary to play the songs from the MYV☆POPS album Miyaviuta~Dokusou~ Band Score Release date: October 30, 2006 ISBN-4401353129 -A book containing the sheet music for every part of a band necessary to play the songs from the Miyaviuta~Dokusou~ albumOther Goods of Interest*Also an incomplete list. This section does not include tour goods. Those may be added at a future date at our discretion.
Miyavi's 2005-2006 Calendar -O-re-sa-ma.com's shop says you can't order it from them anymore. There's always eBay. Contents-wise though, each month has a seperate page of Miyavi meaning that there's a total of 13 pages in it. On the calendar pages, dates are marked for past tour dates or events that Miyavi held. Also, when you're done with your calendar, you can take the pages out and flip them over and put them together and the pages form GIGANTIC posters of Miyavi.

Miyavi's 2007 Calendar
A calendar that was up for pre-order during October and November and was only available through pre-order. More information later when I receive the calendar.
[a piece of water] XQBR-1001 A charity album that Miyavi praticipated in with artists from several other countries. Miyavi's song on the album is"Christmas is..." and all proceeds for the album will be donated to UNICEF. It seems to be available through the month of December on the iTunes store in 21 countries. There is a limited edition first press booklet. Note: Miyavi's participation in this album is mostly as part of a chorus of 115, which consists of other artists, actors/actresses, children, and others.
The song doesn't seem to be available to iTunes USA, but you can go through here: iTunes USA
Note: This information is not complete. There are some tour items which it would be *very* hard to track down and thus difficult to catalogue or find anywhere. Also not included are Miyavi's Official Fan Club items and goods from his Due le Quartz days.Credit goes to Yilei for gathering the information

kijiriko Well, alot of that I didnt know. 0_0 His shoe size is size 9 mens isnt it? XD Don't know. He probably actually mentioned it in an interview somewhere in the past, but this info's straight off his official website and probably the most up to date version of what Miyavi wants his fans to "know". EDIT: Also, shoe sizes vary in different parts of the world, so...it's not really all that relevent when you have an artist as aware of his International fans as Miyavi is.

XD Yah, that's cuz a lot of it's also on Masa Karasu because both Hikari and I worked on the translation. The thing is though that there's certain idiosyncracies that are different in each version of the translation just because each translator takes different liberties in the explanation portion and what words they choose in their translation. It's not like they totally change the meaning, but it's just each person has a different opinion on how to portray the most accurate meaning. So even though we worked on it together, this is my version of it.

The official tracklisting for MiyaviUta was added to O-re-sa-ma.com, so I have adjusted its listing in the discography.
Coming soon possibly later tonight: Release cover/box art so that people can recognize it if they look for it at the store+Photobook info.

Cover art, book & other goods information all have been added. heart I did some reformatting too to try to make everything easier to read.
Possible additions: I think maybe I might later on go through and enter all of the catalogue numbers.

XD Okay, catalogue & ISBN #s added cuz I was really bored. I couldn't find the number for the calendar though, but not that that's really important because no one carries it anymore anyway. eBay is the way to go looks like.
