I'm entering the last dungeon (save for the optional, 50-level Lunar Ruins), and must say it's been a very enjoyable game. I'm speaking of the GBA port, of course. Can't help but wonder what it would play like with today's graphics, and more character/plot development.
Oh yeah, and... 'You spoony bard!'

I'm still stuck trying to beat Zeromus... I finally got all the ultimate weapons (I play FFVI on FFChronicles, PS1) after using up about 5 mil worth of Fuma... I got Odin and Sylph recently... I already had Bahamut. But I still can't beat Zeromus... I can't steal whatever it is I need to steal to make him easier.

I stole the Dark Matter, finally, but it didn't help at all... I did better the previous run when I didn't steal it... did about 25k damage with constant jumps and kept Cure IV-ing... (Kain and Rosa survived for awhile, and Kain avoided most of the Big Bangs, while Rosa kept healing after each one)
What level are your guys? Kain is level 60, Rydia about 55... everyone else inbetween somewhere...

I think my team was in the low to mid-sixties when I beat him. I had Kain Jump, Edge Throw, Cecil attack (w/Ragnarok), Rydia summon Bahamut, and Rosa on healing duty. It took awhile, but he went down.
If you think Zeromus is bad, wait till you try the Lunar Ruins (optional dungeon for GBA port). There's some beasties that will make you tear your hair out. Lunar Odin is wicked mean, and don't even mention Brachiodorus.
[spoilers]:At one point, Kain fights Lunar Bahamut solo. Talk about a pain in the rear...[/spoilers]

[response to spoiler]You fight Bahamut on the moon in the PS1 version... That's how you get him... and yes, Kain solos because noone else can dodge Megafire.[/response to spoiler]

Red Crosell XIII [response to spoiler] You fight Bahamut on the moon in the PS1 version... That's how you get him... and yes, Kain solos because noone else can dodge Megafire.[/response to spoiler] Yeah, you still do that in the GBA port, but your whole party participates. It's just the in the Lunar Ruins that Kain goes solo.
Funny, I actually prefer IV's summon system over X's. There is way too much potential for abuse with X's, in IV it's one shot deal, although you can summon on Rydia's every turn. I just hate when if someone's stuck on a paticular boss in X and asks for advice, so many people say 'Use your Aeons!'...it makes them (Aeons) into cheap meat shields, IMO.

I dislike people using other people for meatshields.
I tried playing it, but i'm so lazy about leveling up that when i got to the moon i was only level thirty- or fourty-something. and i had to give it back to my friend, sooo...yeah.
