Hot Topic....
Seriously, what do you people think of the place? I thought it was the coolest s**t when I was like....8. I discovered how moronic it is when I was about 13.
But seriously, they make mad money there. I like how it's basically the same thing as like American Eagle and such because it's got it's regulars who are willing to blow a whole paycheck on a single outfit and then they go off and make funny faces at people who "conform". I don't think that anyone conforms more than those damn Hot Topic goers. Is there anything more trade-marked than huge, gigantuonic black pants being weighed down by useless drapes of chains and dangling metal skulls?
Any way, do any of you ever shop there?
I just got hired there after being offered to work there. It's kinda funny how they like to hire people who are in to "different music" when all they sell is the same old generic bullshit. Oh well, at least now I'll be able to buy all the Misfits shirts and studded belts as I want. I think I get 50% off.

I'll shop anywhere. I don't mind Hottopic. The HT clearence is awesome, and they sell the dyes that work best in my hair. I really wouldn't mind working there, other then the lame kids that come in, seriously, I don't think I could let anyone walk away with the with the pants the size of a tent, for sixty dollars.

Do they have those in Canada? I think they do, I just haven't been in one. ((I just recently went to West Edmonton Mall and there was an Abercrombie and Fitch there...It was the first one I'd seen but I just couldn't go in. The blaring music, the likely to be snotty sales representitives, the prices...*shudder*))
However, I really don't care about the 'conformity' of Hot Topic. If they have something cheap, I'll buy it. That's what it comes down to anyway, whose going to know if you bought it at Hot Topic anyway? (Unless of course there's a big blaring label on it or something). *shrug*

I bought a pair of cigarette pants from American Eagle when they were popular that one time. Oh boy, I'm cool.
I don't care what store it is. I myself have a Wet Seal and Alloy love. Big whoop. It's a store. They're stores. As long as I can get something cheap that I like, I'll wear it.
Hot Topic is just another store trying to make money on clothing and gear that catches the eye of a certain group of people. I love their clearance stuff shoved all the way in the back corner. Plus I like the hair junk.
It's just clothing, it's not going to physically hurt anybody.

Yeah, their clearance section is awesome. They actually have pretty cool stuff there because that's the stuff that's "different" from all the other clothing. It's the stuff that's not obviously marketed by hot topic, so no one buys it.
But yeah, I find their ceilings to be the most interesting aspect of the store.

stalebreadcrums It's just clothing, it's not going to physically hurt anybody. unless of course someone trips on their giant pants and falls down an escalator that goes upwards. i don't care that much either way. the stuff they sell at the one here doesn't interest me. but once at a show i was wearing a really old cbgb's shirt my dad got when on tour in the early 80s when this really fat dude comes up to me and starts yelling at me saying that i'm to young to wear the shirt and blah blah blah. he ended up being the manager of hot topic and once i caught him as being a seller of cbgbs shirts to kids even younger than me who might not even know what it is, he got all buddy buddy and not so insane with anger. i found it rather ironic.
