personally, if shikaXtema happened, conflict might happen between the leaf and the sand. on the other hand it might bring the ties that were damaged during the chunin exam closer and improve ties. tell me what u think

It might be troublesome since I don't think that he ever been done. But, the Sand and Konoha are allies, ne? So, I don't think there would be much of a problem in that sense.

Like Teh Temari said, sand and leaf are allies. I think that if ANY problems would occur, it's be that Gaara didn't want Temari to marry Shikamaru, and try to stop them. XD And if you're post-timeskip, then you'd understand that.
With Gaara and Naruto's friendship, I think that as long as Gaara runs the sand, the Sand and Leaf wouldn't have problems.

I think that if they were to get married, one of them would join the other's village. I don't see how they could live together and have a family when they're always in different places. Or maybe that'd just make which ever one "moves" a permanent village representitive or something. Honestly I don't know, I'd love to see them married but you're right, the dynamics of it would be a bit of a problem.

I well for this you have to look at it through many many factors.
relationship + personality factors: Temari is a very stronly fundamentalled woman, I can see her have a very strong tie to her village, what with her brothers being in high power standings and all. Shikamaru, although he doesn't like to show it, is also very tied to his village as can be seen by his speech at the begining of the Sasuke retrieval ark.
This is where the second major factor comes in: the fact that the show/mange is based around Konoha. Would Temari actually follw through on the whole relationship once it got that serious? Would Shikamaru actually want to get into an argument about it when the time came or would he let the relationship go to pieces because it'd be too troublesome to deal with? Honestly there's no way of knowing or predicting until I knew the (so far fictional) situation better.
I'd say that in the long run, the other option I provided in my previous post is a much more hassle free solution and probably closer to what they'd do, shoucl they choose to travle down the "ShikaxTema" plot path.

Maybe not so much conflict between the villages than between Shikamaru and Temari. I admit, I can see the distance being a problem in this relationship.
I mean honestly? I can't see either one of them happily leaving their home village to be with the other. Some kind of connection that keeps them working together, like being co-liaisons between Leaf and Sand, is the only way I really see their relationship being long-term and stable.
The fact that the two are so different from one another is what makes TemaShika so appealing. They can be from different villages and still remain married, in love, whateverflows. -shrug-

I know how Shika really is, but would he really leave Konoha that easily?
I think Temari would leave Suna instead ... But I'm really not too sure confused

Gaara angry? Very funny again, no. When he was psycho he didn't care and now that he's changed...Well, he's changed, I'm pretty sure he would support Temari in her decision.
Now, because I support all the 3 sand siblings in pairings I'm pretty sure the country of Suna would get angry that all three married Konoha nins, but again I don't think that would be anything major either. xD

this is more your opinion then fact. There's no prior evidence of inter-village marriages and although there's heavy hinting towards it, we don't know that Naruto will be Hokage yet.

this is more your opinion then fact. There's no prior evidence of inter-village marriages and although there's heavy hinting towards it, we don't know that Naruto will be Hokage yet. Well, since I doubt Kishimoto is going to end this as a tragedy, I believe that is most likely going to be the case.
And I still personally doubt anything serious will happen. The marriage may even be celebrated as symbolic of the alliance between Sand and Leaf. Its Kankuro's marriage to Tenten and Gaara's marriage to Sakura when things may get a bit hectic. xD -shot-

I think it would be fine if they got married. Just like Reyairia said, I think it would help tighten the bond between the two villages. It would be horrible if some kind of conflict happened! ><
