Can anyone do controlled doubles with one foot? It's probably my favorite thing to do. You can play so many intricate patterns with the ability to not rely on RLRLRLRL for your double bass sound. RRL RRL RRL RRL or RRLLRRLL change it up and sound really sweet, especially if you use the time one foot isn't playing to splash the hi-hat or add accents and stuff. Also to all the new drummers starting out on 1 pedal, this technique is REALLY important and useful for furthuring your drumming.

Well saying "doubles with one food" isn't specific.

Pat from byeHerSmile (myspace.com/bhsrocks) is really good with that. So, he's teaching me how to do it as well as him. I'm getting better.

Yeah, Jason Bittner and Chris Adler (Lamb of God) have doubles down so well. They are probably some of the the best metal drummers I've ever heard. Not only can they do the craziest double bass in the biz, but they have crazy chops and unique rhythms, unlike most metal drummers that have nothin but a selection of quick blast beats.

I'm trying 2 learn how 2 do the heel-toe technique. It's incredibly hard to master, but sounds great. The easiest way 2 do doubles with one foot is one of those single-foot double pedals.

To answer shortly: Yes.
I practiced getting my right foot up to speed for a long time. I practiced with shuffle beats, helps a lot.

I can. And it was just my first day having lessons. The instructor showed me then I caught on quickly. And I was just nine then. I'm thirteen now.

I hate using double bass pedals, theirs just something about not having my left foot on the hi-hat that really puts me off.
