a timeless classic. surely one of the greatest children's tv shows ever produced...i used to love that show. i loved those blue peter appeals, the features of the show, the junk they could make out an old washing up liquid bottle and some sticky back plastic. i wonder if they were being paid by fairy washing up liquid each time they used an old washing up liquid bottle? they managed to teach kids stuff without being patronising. in doing so, it teached millions of children who might otherwise have grown up to be thugs the values of good citizenship, charity, and about different cultures and such. they even told us not to be mad at the scumbags who trashed the blue peter garden. bloody footballers...

Yeah, what I've seen of it lately was a lot more patronising than it used to be. I also think it's funny how many of them did naughty things and got sacked for it. And ended up presenting TOTP for a week or two, before being sacked from that too. mad d

Ahhh, so is its gradual degradation and subsequent lack of showing, the result of the now ultra cool - Highschool kid thugery system? Explains a lot if It is lolololol! blaugh

touch tiddles katybutterfly I am the proud owner of a Blue Peter badge!! *dies of envy* gonk what did you have to do to earn it? sleep with the producer?!? blaugh rofl I sent them a letter about Katy Hill doing some archaeology in York. She found a glass bottle which turned out to be a Victorian medicine bottle. I'd found one the same in a field near my house, so I wrote in and told them about that, a piece of WW1 medicine bottle and an old inkpot with some of the cork left in it. I sent the letter in March and totally forgot about it, then on 8 May 1997, I got a letter with the ship on it. I started thinking, "Why is Blue Peter writing to me?", opened it, and my badge fell out into my hand. I was delighted!! I can even tell you what the letter that came with it said, because I still have it.

Blue Peter has to be one of if not the all time greatest children's TV show, it has been running for so long and still is. I believe they have a new presenter now? Although I never got a badge, my Dad has a blue and silver badge somewhere, which is quite cool.
