*~Introduction!:
Okies, this rp is pretty much a conglomerated rip-off from Neverending Story, Fushigi Yuugi, Digimon, and .hack//SIGN (at least, that's where I got the ideas). It's basically a modern-day teens gets sucked into another world rp type thing aaaaaaand, yeah. I hope this one works out. More will be explained in the Story section!!

~*Story and Plot!:
A book was written seven-hundred years ago. A book titled "Blink", filled with adventure, and fantasy, monsters, sorcerors, magic, and creatures and lands beyond anyone's imagination.

It was a book in which contained a curse.

For all those that read it would be sucked into its pages to escape the confines of the real world and become the hero of the story. In return, the readers were granted however many wishes they wanted throughout their stay in the book. But, as each wish was granted, the hero lost more and more of his of her memory of the real world, along with their ability to return home. In the end, all readers were doomed to be trapped forever.

Eventually, the relatives and friends of those lost in the book discovered the evils that were contained within. The book, so powerful with magic, was unable to be destroyed by fire or sword, so the citizens resigned to bury it and keep it hidden. Never would the world see the book "Blink" again.

Seven hundred years later, a small high school club posted a spiffy internet web-story for their school website, of which they called "Blink." They said it was inspired by an antique journal passed down in a certain classmate's family (from which he stole it), and now they wish to convert it into a podcasting journal on the net!!

Students throughout Orion High have now come upon this webpage and started reading its bewitched writings. And every one of them, in turn, has thus become sucked into the very book that had been buried so many years ago....

*~Explaining a Couple More Things...:
Each student that gets sucked into the internet book... thing thus enters the world inside. He or she is met up with a small child with a star around her neck. She welcomes the people there and explains how they have become the heroes of this world. She then gives them an item (you get to choose what that is) that grants them the power to make whatever wishes they want. They can explore, fight, buy tomatoes and throw them at chickens, whatever they want in this world. And all they have to do in order to return is declare "HOME" and they come back to the real world. (as an additional note, time flows a lot slower in the real world, so the kids are hardly ever missed) Once this explanation is done, the child disappears and isn't seen again. As explained before, with each trip and each wish, it becomes harder and harder to return home, and each students' perception on reality becomes dramatically altered until they are completely trapped inside the book. And... I think that's it. ^_^

*~Characters

Gaian Name: Watagashi
Name: Ella Emberstaff
Age/Grade: 17/Junior
Personality: She's very impulsive and whimsical, and hardly thinks things through. Her head is almost always in the clouds as well. However, she's generally nice to everyone and hardly has any quarrel with anyone, mostly because she hardly speaks to anyone.
Appearance: She has mousy, incredibly short brown hair with bangs, blue eyes, and glasses. She stands about an inch shorter than most people, and mostly dons a pretty nice selection of clothes, but not so nice that they stand out.
Bio: Ella is a junior who lives with her brother, cousin, aunt, and uncle. Ever since her parents died at the age of five, she's lived with them in their small house. Money has been tight, but they've always been able to manage. She gets in trouble constantly for skipping and sleeping in class (she has to work from the time school lets out until midnight on most weeknights, so she hardly gets a chance to sleep), yet she's still able to maintain a C or B average. She has a close-nit group of friends, but most people just see her as invisible. She LOVES reading books, but was very skeptical when she saw the new section on the school's website. Nonetheless, she clicked on the link and began to read. Just to try it out.
Item Given: A shimmering silver ring with a symbol of the moon etched in it. It's really pretty. ^^ Aaaand, that's it.

Gaian Name: Arospace
Name: Gabriella (Bri)
Age/Grade: 14/Freshman
Personality: Bri is really aggressive and can get annoyed at the strangest things. She tends to bottle things up until she explodes at some unfortunate victim.
Appearance: A tomboy. Bri is taller still than most boys her age. She keeps her blonde hair cropped close to her head, because it’s manageable. Startling blue eyes stare out over strong cheekbones.
She wears baggy jeans with worn out knees and old sneakers. Loose men’s style t-shirts are tucked into her pants. All this combined with the fact that she’s very flat chested, most people think she’s a boy.
Bio: When Bri was little, she always told she shouldn’t worry about how she looks and being pretty. This translated into her not caring about how she appeared. She hates girly girls who like dressing up and makeup and boys. She’d avoid them because she thought they’re all petty and shallow. Of course the petty and shallow girls would turn around and mock her for looking like a boy. So the vicious circle would continue.
Item Given: A metal armband fashioned to look like a snake climbing up her arm

Gaian Name: Zyxa
Name: "Aragus"
Age/Grade: 14?/Freshman?
Personality: Happy and care-free, without a concern in the world.
Appearance: He gives off the apperance of a wizard from a book, balding with white hair. His face old, but his eyes still retain their youthful glee. He is roughly 5'8" letting him tower over others, making him seem condescending unintentionaly. He wears a familiar blue robe and yellow wizard's hat.
Bio: "Aragus" always got picked on in school. He was always taunted for being such a nerd and a book worm. He wanted to die. But he always considered the consequences of something so rash. If he died who would lose something he loved more than life. His books. Atleast, that's how he remembers it. He was one of the first readers of the webcasted "Blink", and was one of the first to get lost in the world he had been dropped into. Without a second thought he used more wishes than he should have and became the wizard known by those in the world of Blink as Aragus. He had been aware of what he was doing, but it was what he had wanted. He had forgotten his name and all the things that had happened to him.
Item Given: Silver rimmed glasses that he wears at all times, giving him the feel of an old man.
Other: Among many of his wishes, he wished that every natural denizen of the Blink world would know his name. He's made himself something of a legend, another way of forgetting his past.

Gaian Name: Dukemileg1(Duh!)
Name: Coletrane Abah
Age/Grade: 22/Dropout due to financial reasons
Personality: (Useless slot)
Appearance: 5'7'', a deep dark black for his general body and nappy hair. His hair mostly is in a pulled back shape, held there by multiple rubber bands. His pearly white teeth are only matched by eyes, which are of a very light green color. His skin is almost always ashy because of the severe dislike of lotion. For that, he mostly wears long sleeves clothes. In fact, he looks like an older version of Riley from The Boondocks.
Bio: He lived in the outskirts of New York for most of his life, growing up away from the poverty of the city. However, all of this changed as he graduated from high school. One rainy day his house erupted in flames, the rain stopping just long enough for the whole thing to be burnt to the ground. Then, once all hopes of survival were gone, it started to rain again. Cole was the only survivor. He was old enough to be his own legal guardian, and he had no financial support for himself. He never went to college, using scolarship money, he bought a laptop and some other needs for himself. It was during this time he found out about "Blink", and now he drives his parents car around the country, using the money to stay alive and spending most of his time in Blink.
Item Given: A large dark green scarf, Incan styled pattern all over the fabric. It has an uncanny ability to shrink down to the size of a small one foot by one inch strip of cloth.
Other: His childhood was burned down along with his house and family, so forgetting it is no real worry for him. If at first it looks like he gets too many free wishes, its just his childhood slipping away. A childhood he wants to forget anyway.

((YAYNESS!! I'll go ahead and start it then!! ^___^ ))

Ella opened her eyes with a start and nearly jumped out of her chair when she saw what was in front of her. The.... the computer screen!! Breathing fast, she looked all around her, making sure she wasn't hallucinating. She... was back in her own world... in the media center at the library in school. It was as if nothing ever happened.

But how? What just...? Was anything she had just seen real?

Her eyes travelled cautiously back to the screen, as if by the mere look of it would cause something terrible to happen. It was back on the homepage. The cursor was once again hovering over that seemingly harmless link. "Click to Read." Was it real? How could she-

The ring!!

A little too hastily, she rose her hand up in front of her face. Her azure eyes bulged as she had found the proof. The ring was still on her finger. She had really done it. She had really gone into another world!!

The bell had rung, dismissing the third class. It was so amazing... She didn't know how it happened, but.... Rushing out into the hall and into the throng of teenagers as they flooded from their classrooms. Lunch started immediately for her class. Maybe she should tell one of her one of her friends at lunch? Nah, who would believe her...?

Taking a deep breath, she sat down at her regular table in the cafeteria, dropping her bookbag at her feet. Barely anyone else had come, yet. She wondered how long it would take before her friends got here.... The teacher sometimes keeps them late on occasion...

What she did know, though, was that she HAD to go back in there. She just HAD to.

((Sorry I typed too much. ^^;; ))

(That's not long. Besides aren't character intros supposed to be longer than the rest of play?)

Cute boy after cute boy filed out of the classroom. Anna was ecstatic; the freshman had been as bored about this class as any of the others she had this year, but when she had seen the male content, well.
By the time the last of the class had dragged it's feet out the door, the she had already chosen her target, the cute blond who always sat in the back corner.
"Hey, you're Gabe right?" the she asked, flinging her hair over her shoulder.

Bri groaned, even adults thought she was a boy. The teacher had called her Gabriel instead of Gabriella. How could he get that wrong anyway? She wouldn't have minded if these ditzes wouldn't flock around her.
“I’m Bri.” Responded a low monotone
“Wow that is like so unique, Bri!”
“Right” Bri wished they would get to the library soon.
This was degrading, being paraded past all the seniors who had lunch this period. What were they circus monkeys. Bri tried to ignore the high-pitched voice next to her by staring at the dreadlocks of the guy in front of her. A paper airplane floated by and embedded itself deeply in the centre of this kids hair, not that he noticed.
A couple of muscle bound jocks guffawed and their cheerleaders twittered as a timid girl nearly tripped on the stairs. One of her friends called them jerks.
“…your assignment, Bri?”
“Eh?” That girls voice had penetrated even those distractions. God, this girl didn’t get a hint.
“I said what’s your assignment? Hello-o. Like geezus weren’t you listening to anything” Impossible, the voice had gotten higher.
What was her assignment anyway? Bri pulled the crumpled piece of paper out of her pocket “Er, ‘The Death of English: Shakespeare to Today’.” Wait. Is that even at the ninth grade level?
A shriek sounded behind her. Bri turned around to see, who else, the girl, sprawled on the stairs. Someone called out that the girl was a klutz. Bri sighed and picked tossed Anna the pencil case that had fallen by her feet. As she turned to go Anna yelled at her.
"Aren't you going to help me up?" That's it her voice was too annoying.
"Ok, look. You are really annoying. You followed me for no reason, nearly broke my eardrums with that high flirting voice." Bri mimicked the girls pitch, much to the bystanders amusement. "And unless you're a lesbian you shouldn't be chasing me. I'm. A. Girl."
With that Bri turned on her heel and walked down the hall joining her class in the library. Leaving a fuming Anna to collect her things amid the laughter of all those watchers.

Lunch couldn't come soon enough.

Aragus playfully poked a rat on his table with the tip of a wand he had conjured. With every poke the rat would disappear in a small puffy of smoke to reveal it had gained another appendage amongst a variety of random happenings. With one final stab, the mutant rat turned to a miniscule elephant frozen in stone. He hid his face in his robed arms and waved the wand lazily as the elephant statue floated onto a cluttered shelf over flowing with other such baubles.

He straightened his back and let out a tired yawn. "It's a shame time passes is slow here," he mumbled between rubbing his eyes. "This would be slightly more interesting if people were searching my room."

A knock rapped on his door and it opened up silently to reveal a stout little servant man. He wore a fairly ragged tunic, but it looked as if it had been well kept nonetheless. "Lord Aragus," he started nervously, fidgeting with the rope belt that kept his attire together, "I visited the town today and I heard a great deal of ill spoken of you. They say you do not use your powers to help them as often as they'd like..."

The freshman removed his prized silver glasses and gave them a good polish before replacing them on his nose. "I wish they didn't." It didn’t feel as if anything had changed, but Aragus knew better than that. He probed his brain trying to remember what happened on his first day of elementary school and was pleased to find that he didn't know.

"Lord," the little man echoed. "Do you remember why I was here?"

Aragus smiled as his head found a comfy space in his arms to rest. "No I don't, friend."

The bell droned.

Everything in the library stopped as the herd of freshmen stampeded out of the library. It was lunchtime.
After the dust settled things returned to normal as silence once again permeated through the shelves.
A book bag banged into Bri's chair. She looked about her in surprise. What happened? She checked the time on the computer. 12:30, that can't be right. Yep the library clocks said the same.
It’s fourth period, that's lunch. Still dazed, Bri gathered her books and strode quickly out into the halls.
Bri scanned the crowd. It took a trained eye to judge the flow of traffic down in the school’s basement. Who puts a library in the basement anyway, what's the logic in that?

There are way to many stairs in this school. It was two flights of stairs and a hallway to get from the library to the cafeteria. And another hall and stairs to get to her locker where she ate lunch.

One order of fries and gravy later, Bri lounged as best she could in one of the more isolated corners of the school. It was nice here; she shared this hall with two bookworms and a group of kids that played Magic. Everyone kept to themselves so she didn’t have to deal with girly girls and flirts and most of the teenage population actually.

Stuck with the silent tick of clocks and the occasional murmur of card players Bri really had no choice but to contemplate just what had happened last period. Really, it wasn’t what it seemed to be. She had felt like she had actually been inside the story but that was impossible, improbable. She had been sitting at the terminal the whole time. It was a physical touch that brought her back to reality. Yes that’s it, Bri had just found a really interesting story and had gotten lost in it, not like that hadn’t happened before. And it usually took someone touching her to get her attention. Yes that was it.
That shove hurt too, she must have been jabbed with a binder or something. Bri rubbed the bruise on her shoulder. Well, she meant to rub her shoulder, instead her hand rested against her arm. It felt weird. Hard.
No
It couldn’t be. It’s impossible. Bri pulled up the sleeve of her t-shirt and it was staring up at her. There metallic eyes glinting coiled a bronze snake, seemingly stopped in the middle of crawling up her arm.

On of the bookworms looked up from her reading to see that boy who sat up there chuckling to himself. Not that the bookworm cared but something about it sounded wrong. If she didn’t know better she’d say it was almost hysterical.

It was cold. This was not the "Oh, its a little chilly in here," cold. This is the "Why the hell do I still have all my limbs?" cold. Yesh, this is his world. You see, he could never grasp that little thing called confort. The way his mind works is that the jurney is much more important than the beginning or the end. The act of heroicness is much more important than whatever the spoils are.
This was why he was standing on the top of some abandoned apartment complex, looking over the bleak frozen wasteland. Storms of ice would rise out of nowhere, creating trails of ice that would freeze anything that they caught. That is, if there was anything left to freeze above the deep snow.

He was way out of the way of course, wearing clothes traditional to this landscape. World, perhaps. A heavy cloak covered his limbs with some form of hard leather, sheets of snow creating drifts on him. The rest of his body was an accumulation of patches, extra layers of assorted clothes or foam, melted on with whatever fire they could muster to make. Around his neck was the only thing whos color was not strpped away from the sheer tempatures. His scarf, his relic. It provided more warmpth than any other piece of clothing he had on, mainly due to the insane amount of magical properties on it.
His head was the only thing uncovered, his nappy hair trailing in the winds in dentrils of dark lightning. His face although cold, did have a little smile to it. He would help them, the dreamers here caught in this world and stuck on the blunt end. You see, not everyone who gets stuck in this forsaken story is left in an ideal place. Others come, and others can make their life hell. These people in particular had it the worst: The new people made a cover for the sky and sucked the heat from their world. Cole assumed that they lived avove the sky, their every little pleasure met while these people suffer.

That was why he was here: To gain the courage to scale that thing. The Pillar, a metal support bean that is covered with assorted devices made to suck the air dry of any heat. Good thing the inside was hollowed out, better than climbing along the outside. The only problem was that nobody who ever explored it came back. These thoughts and more crossed his mind as he was building his courage, thinking over song lyrics and poems for anything that applied to him. It only took him a few finutes to just give up this crap.
Hell, its too cold to build up the courage. I'm just gonna go inside toend this.
With a very jittery walk backwards, he opened a large frozen hatch on the sleet covered roof of the building. It was difficult at first, because snow ice and metal weighs a lot. The ice soon slid off, so it became easy after that. A final sign later, he jumped into the oily darkness of the hatch. Then the snow re-gained its hold on the roof, five feet of snow covering both the roof and the hatch he used to escape. Nature then had nothing in seight that betrayed it.

Lunch ended, and Ella's fourth period class started as usual. But it went without Ella being part of it. Poor girl couldn't stand the wait; once the lunch bell rang, she abandoned her table, skipped class, and headed straight for the library. Despite the countless times she tried, she couldn't tell her friends about "Blink." What point would there be in telling them anyway? No, she had to see proof for herself. She had to make sure it was really real, and that she wasn't indeed crazy.

Dodging past the other teachers, she settled in with amongst a group of students, and began hastily typing away. Within 30 agonizing seconds (why did the connection on these computers have to be so slooooow?? crying ), she reached the link to "Blink." Before she gave herself a second to think about what she was doing, she clicked on the link, praying it would happen again...

The transition from the two worlds, she had found, was nothing dazzling like they would show in the movies when something like this happened. No lights, no being pulled down a bright tunnel, or finding one's self flying across a field of stars or something. No, it was more like pulling your head fast through your shirt when putting it on. It was a little darker than usual as things came unfocused for a second. She felt a slight movement, then it was light again within less than a heartbeat. It just happened before she could even acknoledge it happening, but the result was just the same. She toppled over, finding no chair below her now, and hit the ground with a THUD. The grass beneath her scratched against her legs, and the sun above all but blinded her. The bizarre creatures could be heard about the wooded area, and the trees that surrounded her towered magestically, moving magically in the wind.

She was back... She was really back!! Glee filled her as she jumped to her feet. It was true!! She was in a magical world, a fantasy world in which she could make all the wishes she wanted - just like in the books she would read!

... All the wishes she wanted.... Something about that seemed very appealling to her. Naturally, that was the next thing she wanted to try out. But... what would she wish for first?

"Um... um um um um um um um... I wish..." What to wish for, what to wish for? What did she want to change? Her appearance immediately popped into mind. She was too plain, and she hated it. But what in the world would she change about how she looked....?

Bah with it. Abandoning that thought, she went with the next thing that came to mind, "I wish I could fly!"

She stood and watched, in more amazement than anything, as her feet lifted from the ground. Smiling broadly, she looked up and willed herself higher above the trees. Oh yeah, she could most certainly get used to this. ^______^

And that's when she saw for the first time what was beyond the forest. At the edge of it, just bordering right before the mountains, a huge white temple-ish structure stood. It spiked her curiosity.

She needed practice with this new flying thing anyway.

Thus, she shot off toward the structure, letting out a shout of excitement as she did so. This was more than a dream come true... It was the door to her new life. And she couldn't wait for it!! YEAH! ^O^

Aragus was still taking his nap when another rap sounded at his door. But being who he was, he slept through the quiet noise, wanting to continue his napping. The knocking grew louder to the point that he could no longer ignore it before Aragus magically opened the door.

The same servant that had informed him of his infamy only an hour or ago in game time. What was his name...? Aragus yawned and stretched his arms. That's right, his name was Ivan. "What is it, Ivan?"

"L-Lord," he stammered as he had before. He fiddled with his rope belt again.

"Spit it out Ivan, I have a nap that I must finish."

At that the servant composed himself and replied obediently, "Lord, there is a woman flying to your tower."

Aragus arched an eyebrow at statement. "That's nice, Ivan. You may go about your business now."
