Wait, Wait... Why the hell was this topic not here before?

Yes, if you don't know whast Type-Moon is, I'm going to have to ask you havw long you've been into anime, how long you;ve been into visual novels, and if you watch Geneon stuff. Really now.

Anyway, Type-Moon has two series of games which occur in the same world. These being, Tsukihime, and the Fate/ series. Each of which were huge hits as far as viaual novels go. They both have their own anime, and they both have sequels and spinoffs.

A little bit of history: Type-Moon used to be a small doujin cirle starting off new with Tsukihime. They were planning opn just making another game where you get to play around with the girls, nothing really huge, but then things change. Tsukihime, became long complex, and known for not the hentai, but for having a kick a** storyline like no other. Basically it was a pretty shocking turn that most people didn't expect to come about. With this hit of a first game they seem to have ridden the momentum and got an anime of that, but also an anime of their second major release. That being Fate/Stay Night. Using many of the same concepts as Tsukihime this game also became a huge success.

Yeah so anyway, in other words, Type-Moon is freakin' awesome. And it's practically blasphemy not to have a thread about it in a guild like this. Even more so with the Fate/Stay Night fan following out there. That'd be totally awesome if their next game was a cross over. It's possble, but doesn't seem likely.

Why is this topic so empty, makes me feel a little sad, like I'm the only Type-Moon fan in existence cry .

As for Kagaitsuki's comment about a cross over series, its more then possible. I've only heard rumors about it over at the large Type-moon forums (koi-chan image boards and beast's lair), but rumor has it that there will be a Counter-Guardian appearing in Tsukihime 2. Type-Moon counter guardians are spirits summoned by the world to save it from itself (kind of a lop off the arm to save the patient kinda thing). And there is at least 1 Fate/Stay character who is confirmed to have become a Counter Guardian, so he might very well just join in ^_^.

As well, there are already minor cross-over points in the two series, such as the appearance of Zeltrech, and in the fact that two type-moon characters use the same weapons; Both Ciel and Kotomine Kirei use black keys.

Yeah, the minor crossovers are the only reason I can be confident it's possible.

SO far I've seen an unofficial crosswover taqctics game known as Battle Moon Wars though. XP

Played Battle Moon Wars, 1st act, just wish I could understand it better ^_^.

It uses the same system as Super Robot Wars, and alot of the characters use attacks that look like SRW moves (main female character's ultimate move was derived from the Hyperlion I believe). I'd rather someone make another Melty Blood game though, only this time with Fate/Stay characters in it; best we can get now is Mugen characters and doujin fighters -_-

Yeah, I noticed it's like SRW... but more amusing so it's good. XP

Aside from that, yeah, itd be pretty interesting to have a Fate/ fighter, but how it would turn out is... questionable i guess. It depends on the studios that would work on it I suppose. It'd be pretty cool if it turned out like Guilty Gear though.

i have no idea what you guys are talking about, but i will make a little TYPE-MOON news.

mirror-moon has officially released a Fate Scenario patch for Fate/Stay Night, so now you can find out what really happened in the game instead of settling for the anime. after all, the anime failed miserably at attempting to mix the different scenarios, and had a really 12-14 episodes in the middle with nothing but talking...... and you also get to see the h-scene when Shirou, Tohsaka, and Saber have a threesome....

No idea? Battle Moon Wars is pretty cool though... although I have yet to obtain part 3. Anyway, why only those two? To beat the last boss I mean. Careful use of Focuse, flash, etc. can usually get you through any situation... Plus you could Iron wall/hot blooded Saber to bash through most things using Excalibur. Not to metnion the fact that she has a Zeorymer-like barrier as well as stats in general... and Zeorymer is god. >.<

Anyway, as far as the Fate/ scenarios, so this means that the first game is fully traslated right in all three scenario's right? That's cool, not if only I could get my hands on a copy of that game... hm... well, there's a chance. I need to get the Fate/Zero novels too. *Fanboys over the idea of Nitro+/Type-Moon*

No, I think that only the Fate route was translated so far, which means that they (Mirror-Moon) still have to work on the Unlimited Blade Works and Heaven's Feel scenarios before the entirety of that game is completed.

I had scans of the entire 1st volume of Fate/Zero, but it was over 100 megs large, and since I don't know a lick of japanese, I had to dump it. It shouldn't be impossible to find if you look around.

Baka-Tsuki is currently translating the Fate/Zero series, so you can check out their page to get your fill. They've also got some of the Zero no Tsukaima novel, Haruhi, and Kara no Kyoukai.

yes. Kagaitsuki made a mistake thinking that the whole game was translated. it is only the Fate scenario, which is the main storyline where Saber destroys the Holy Grail after she defeats Gilgamesh and dies at the end. in other words, the majority of the anime's plot.

oh, and just to make a quick correction, Baka-Tsuki is not actually doing any of the translation. they are merely hosting the translation project. since Baka-Tsuki's page is a wiki-type, the actual translators merely log in, type down the latest translations, and have people read and edit it as long as it is appropriate.

thanks for clearing it up Enpatsu. Also, people should check out Beast's Lair for more info; its usually ground zero for anything that has to do with Type-Moon.

Beast's Lair

On a side note, Kiritsugu is probably the best Master I've seen thus far in terms of combat ability and strategy. I was surprised at the level of skill he had as a Magus. *fanboys alongside Kagaitsuki over Nitro+/Type-Moon*

well, Saber described him as the most capable Master in the Fate scenario. she had easy victories because of his excellent summoning despite the fact that Saber was an incomplete Servant, and that he had the emotional capacity of a perfect Master. i think it was implied, but not stated, that he was perhaps the best Master to exist.

I don't want to spoil a lot of Fate/Zero, so I can't really say much else about Kiritsugu and Saber's relationship without ruining it for someone; but suffice to say that he wasn't as powerful a master as Rin or Ilyasviel, but more along the lines of a trained magus-killer or hitman like Bazzet or Soichiro. Hell, he uses Claymore mines against one of the other Masters eek (sure, nothing wrong with using military grade weapons with the aim of taking out a single person 0_o).
