I hate you anti-smoking campaign sons of bitches! We get it. Smoking is bad. Everyone knows. Now shut the ******** up. You're going too far now! You act like Satan had an orgy with a bunch of women and that's how the board of the Camel cigarette company was spawned! And stop with the second hand smoke s**t! Smokers don't go and tie kids down and blow smoke in their faces until they get cancer! Stop with all these commercials! You complain about how big tobacco encourages kids to smoke but when you have a point to make and you encourage kids not to smoke you act like your the greatest people in america! Animals can kill people too! Why don't you try to ban animals! Go ahead. Go try to get rid of grizzly bears! Go get mauled so I don't have to ******** deal with you! GAH! As soon as I'm 18 I'll become a 20 pack a day smoker because of you annoying ********! I'd rather have someone put out 500 cigarettes in my a** than listen to you bitches for 10 minutes! Go to hell!

I have no Idea what commercials you are talking about (besides the fact that they are anti-smoking commercials)

Just remember that whatever you see on T.V. is not real in real life!

And if those commercials should come on again I suggest flipping the channel to prevent anger, if that helps 3nodding

it's not just the commercials! those people go around and treat smokers and clerks at convenience stores like nazis. in fact the anti-smoking people call clerks and smokers nazis!

Aunchie: Basically, these commercials are documentaries showing how corrupt the cigarette companies are, and how harmful smoking is. I can think of a few off hand. In one, they went around asking addiction clinics if they treated people for jogging and m&m addictions because one cigarette company exec said that tobacco addictions were comparable to those addictions. Another, they explained how tobacco companies spent more money announcing that they helped people than what they actually spent helping. An older one I can think of, they showed pictures of two babies, one born healthy with a healthy mother, and one with a low birth weight born to a smoking mother. Tobacco industry ceo's said women would enjoy the fact that smoking would cause smaller babies. Problem is, everyone thought they'd want the healthy baby.

Anyway Fenky, the only thing smoking is good for is causing lung cancer.
I'm for the anti-smoking commercials. Your point about animals is completely invalid. Bears rarely every kill people. I'm fairly sure cows kill more people each year.
As far as second hand smoking, it really hurts people, and its plain wrong. You don't have to tie kids down and blow in they're face, because as long as they're in the same house with it, they are at just as much risk for lung cancer as the smoker.
Smoking around others constantly makes about as much sense as sitting around and aimlessly shooting a gun. Who knows who you'll kill or seriously hurt.
And not that anyone really cares, but I'm against smoking because I was victim of second hand smoke. I went into anaphylactic shock twice as a young child and nearly died both times. I had to be on a respirator for a long time. My lungs are still slightly messed up because of it.

oh wah! I've nearly died too! Like 6 times! Go make a damn commercial if you have such big opinions and ideas! And what you said about bears is bullshit! 4 children get mauled to death per year by grizzly bears! and that's just the childrens! who knows how many adults suffer from bear attacks! and those are just the people who don't survive! hey! and what about breast cancer! if people paid more attention to breast cancer maybe we could cure it and not waste our time bothering hard working people at big tobacco! if college students tried learning medical stuff instead of letting everyone know about minor mistakes big tobacco then maybe they could've SAVED MY FREAKIN' GRANDMOTHER!!! College students should bother learning instead of wasting time telling people about ******** M&MS!!!!!!

What?! Never heard of breast cancer awareness month? The famous pink ribbon that symbolizes breast cancer research? Science is constantly trying to find cures for all types cancer, including breast cancer.
You seem to think that focusing on one problem means ignoring another. The world doesn't work like that. You have to make people aware of a lot of problems, not just one. Different people work to bring awareness about many different problems. Breast cancer, smoking, child abuse, aids, etc., ect.
And so far, the best thing to do for cancer, is to try to prevent it. You don't want people dying of cancer? There's more than just breast cancer to deal with.
By saying you think anti-smoking commercials should be stopped, you're condeming more people to die from lung cancer.
I'm sorry your grandmother died of breast cancer, but thats only more reason you shouldn't want more to die. Don't think I'm not sympathetic. I've known people that died from breast cancer. My grandmother died of lung cancer. My grandfather is suffering of liver cancer.
I'm sorry to say this Fenky, but you seriously need to grow up. The world doesn't revolve around you and your problems. There are other problems in the world that are just as important.

Fenky I'm just going to say something short and simple.

Get over it.

There is nothing we can do, this is life this is how life works, the companies are still going to make commercials, nothing can stop them unless all of a sudden we all stopped smoking, there is no reason for you to complain, put yourself in their position.
What would you do if you were against smoking and in a company like that?

Well I'm not for or against the smoking commercials but I an definatly against smoking :3
From all that second hand smoke I bet you I already have lung cancer kicking in DD:

I say if people go and decide to smoke they can kill themselves, just dont try to kill the people around them too.

quit complaining about second hand smoke! here's an idea...walk away! if you're against second hand smoke then just walk away from smokers! you guys have working legs! leave the room! go to the non-smoking section of denny's or something! don't just stand there and take it then complain later! they only have second hand smoke awareness stuff because there are people that don't just get up and walk away!
PostPosted: Tue Aug 08, 2006 10:08 pm

What about those who don't have a choice to walk away from smokers? You can't always avoid them. I understand, your point is valid about walking away, but what about those that live with smokers who smoke in the homes? Or those that work with smokers who are allowed to smoke on the jobs? I'm just bringing up this point is all. I'm not really trying to complain.

I tried to avoid the smoke if I can but it was hard.

It's 100x better now that I'm back in Canada but when we were in China you couldnt get away from it.
The polution levels for each day where extreamly bad and since cigaretes are so cheap in China almost every man smoked.
And there is no such thing as a none smoking area in a restaurant or on the buses.

In China there is no such thing as "none smoking" areas because almost everyone there smokes.

But in Canada there are "No Smoking" signs everywhere :3mod:
