Kat slammed the door of her apartment, which sends a tremor though the walls of the tiny first floor apartment. In her arms, is clutched a small brown colored plushie, which she is pulling tightly to her chest. It is well known to the people close to the girl that Kat has a stuffed animal fetish, so when her friend stumbled on the store that sold dragon plushies, Kat was quickly contacted and of course, the girl, promptly scurried down there, and purchased one of the dragons, and that was what she now holding. She walked though the large room that was her television room, and she entered though the door, and she fell onto her bed. Kat kicked off her shoes, and she pulled her hair free of the fabric that held it from her face. Her bed was crowed with the many pillows and stuffed toys she had on there, and they enfolded around her as she curled up in the covers. It was a nice feeling, to be wrapped up in the comforts of the familiarity of her room, of her bed, of her sheets, and a small smile wrapped across her face in a graceful turned arch. She sighed as she stood up, leaving the plushie on her bed where it was, and walked out of the room.

It was not that Kat meant to be hard on all stuffed animals that had the fortune, or misfortune, of sleeping with her, but she was a very light sleeper, and one who often tossed and turned in bed. That was the reason the small dragon plushie was not cuddled in Kat's arms, where it had started the night, but draped lightly over the girl's feet. It was the slight pressure on her feet which awoke the girl when the clock had the numbers four, thirty seven scribbled across the screen in blinding, flashing red letters. Kat woke up with an irritated groan, and for a second, she blamed her cat, but that only lasted a second, long enough for the girl to relies that her cat was still at her childhood home, most likely cuddled at the bottom of her mother's feet, and cowering from her dad. No cats were presiding with Kat. She sat straight up in bed in an attempt to see her new bedmate, and the girl was scared. She blinked, and peeked over the top of her covers as if she was afraid of what would be perched on her feet, and keeping them nice and warm. The movement was slow, as if she thought that moving slow would make the frightening thing that was laying on her feet go away, but of course, that did not help at all. She soon found herself staring into a pair of closed eyes, closed scaly eyes, eyes that were in no way human. Kat screamed. The dragon's eyes snapped open. Kat, now, was staring, eyes huge, into the huge brown eyes of the, once plushie, dragon. The baby dragon was pretty, the print on her reminded Kat of the polished wood, lines of soft browns curving and twisting all over the small dragon. A small comic grin crossed the dragon's face.
'Ello
A soft child-like voice rang out around Kat, and she lifted one of her huge elfin ears to find where the voice was vibrating from, but she already knew that the dragon had spoken, and she was suddenly calmed by the pure innocence the voice brought.
I think I need a name.
The voice rang again, and this time, Kat was sure that it was in her head, for she could find no source of the sound. Kat also was sure the voice was feminine. About the dragon's comment, the girl had to think, for she did not think a normal name would work for the magnificent creature before her, something simple like Sue, Flower or Magic just did not work, no, there was no way a simple word of any known language would suit the dragon, so Kat let the syllables form in her head.
"Ielde"
Was all Kat said, and the dragon smiled again, and said nothing.

It was coming home from the store and taking Ielde home that Kat realized how tired she was. She came home, dragon now clutched tight in her arms, and, again, slammed the door, though quite by accident, and she winced as her walls began to quiver. She pulled on some sleep wear, and climbed into bed, Ielde climbing at the foot of her bed. They went to sleep that way, the girl huddled under layers of blankets, and the dragon curled at the foot of her bed, legs tucked under her body so that she looked much like a cat. When Kat awoke the next morning, she realized that the weight on her feet had increased, and she looked up to see a much older dragon, open one amber eye, and crack a sly smile. Ielde hopped down from the bed, and stood so she was facing Kat.
I feel so big, but how do I look.?
She asked, her eyes twinkling. Kat stared at her dragon, her mouth slightly agape.
"You look great."
Kat said, as she looked over her dragon. Ielde was still smaller then what would be called average, but she looked correct, and Kat figured that her dragon would also be slightly small. She still had the patterns she always had, a very wood-like pattern all over her tan body, but the most noticeable thing was the quadruple winged butterfly on her hip.
