I'm wondering who's stronger/tougher from the following group of characters, all your opinions are welcome. The following are my opinions, and I'd like anyone who agrees OR disagrees to respond similarly so I can get a better feel for what the guild thinks.

Juggernaut
Strength -- Normal strength equal to moderately enraged Hulk.
Toughness -- Took a full on blast from Odinforce empowered Thor
Speed -- Slightly above human ?

Thor
Strength -- Somewhere in the ridiculous level, obviously above Silver Surfer (pre Anihilation upgrade) and hulk.
Toughness -- Goes toe to toe and wins against normal level Silver Surfer, Takes punches from the Hulk in stride.
Speed -- One of the only Marvel characters to break Lightspeed without entering hypserspace.

Hulk
Strength -- Varies greatly from writer to writer, my views are 200-350 tons with occasional (read unreliable) feats that go drastically farther (I.E. Destroying an asteroid twice the size of earth with a thunderclap). Enraged hulk's strength is greatly increased, but it's hard to say to what level.
Toughness -- Has weathered a Full force blast from havoc (who's beams can melt adamantium) with great discomfort, but is apparently, not tough enough to withstand the full force of a nuke (stated by marvel, but circumspect). Survived a nuclear explosion.
Speed -- Slightly above human.

Silver Surfer
Strength -- Somewhere around upper hulk levels, can vary hugely depending upon his use of the power cosmic. Empowered SS is clearly a planet buster as well, as shown in SS : Annihilation issue #4
Toughness -- Takes full on punches from the Hulk without showing discomfort (when thor hits him, he's in agony, so it's obvious that Hulks punches don't hurt enough to make him outwardly show it)
Speed -- Capable of Lightspeed through hyperspace only, but has shown himself to be tremendously fast during combat as well.

Agree, disagree? Do your own mini write up on them and discuss the differing opinions and reasoning.

I'd like to point out that Professor Hulk, who had higher base stats then the other Hulks survived a nuke near ground zero.

Noted, and thanks.

Most of the Hulk's with the exception of Grey/Fixit generally are around the 100 ton range until they get pissed. Maestro may start out higher I'm not sure. Fixit was listed around 85 tons base.

Then again Marvel has trouble stating anything past 100 tons.

Classic Juggs started out higher than Thor level strength. Hulk's the only one to ever match him in brute strength. Backhanded Thor through a mountain once.

The Hulk info is wrong and we've told you this before. Hulk is far stronger than you give him credit for and has survived planet-busting attacks regurarly.

Like I said Jac, post your OPINIONS here if you want on things. It's blatantly obvious that I disagree on hulks strength, I just wanted to know what everyone thought about all the characters.

Didn't the Hulk lift over a 100,000 tons in the Secret Wars? I thought he had lifted up an entire Mountain.

Also in the Amalgam books he was going toe to toe with Superman who can lift Billions...

I don't understand what your argument is. Hulk's lifted things that weight more than that without being too angry. Check. He's outmuscled guys like Thor, Hercules, and Drax. All of whom are strong enough to break earth by punching it. Check.

We've givin scans, issue numbers, the whole nine yards. Why do you refuse to beleive that Hulk's above 300 tons?
PostPosted: Mon Aug 14, 2006 12:55 pm

Alright I'd really like to get a read on some of the other characters I've mentioned.....
I'm perfectly willing to agree that hulk can exceed 300 tons, and I've said that he's performed feats that go FAR in excess of that number. However there is NO way that he could EVER even approach a billion tons. EVER. Hell I'd be willing to settle on him powering his way up to 5000 tons, but a billion? I don't see it, at all, ever.
Normally? He sits between 100-300 tons. Anyway, we can continue this in the hulk thread.
Anyone have any numbers for the other characters? They're the one's I'm really interested in.

Just for the record, you know that I mean no hostility whenever I talk to you, right?

I don't have any specific numbers, but I do know opf a number of feats. Thor's most famous is dragging the Midguard serpent against it's will.

As for Classic Juggs, his strength seemed to change depending on how much force was opposing him. Which makes sense, kind of.

Thor is the most powerful on the list. Versatile as all sin, his magic allows him to keep up with Surfer's Power Cosmic, his physical stats are INSANE (he's literally ravaged the surface of an entire planet with just the shockwave of a single swing of Mjonir) and his experience and fighting skill are tough to match. Plus, he's still got that whole "Asgard battle armor" (aka instant plot deviced power up) to fall back on when the s**t hits the fan.

Surfer comes next, being almost at Thor's level. Not quite as tough and strong, but just as versatile (and using it more often) and fast as Thor. With the new power up and his new will to fight, he may be closer to Thor than before.

Hulk comes next, as the paragon of physical strength and endurance. Other than absurb strength, Hulk's also shown the incredibly, and totally Deus Ex Machina ability to overcome any and every type of attack by just being pissed off enough (energy, magical, psychic... you name it, Hulk's gotten angry enough to ignore it). Hard to kill, and the angrier he gets, the harder it gets to beat him. He lacks to versatility to truly match Thor and Surfer though.

Juggernaut is last because of his total lack of anything other than punching. Impressive punching, but punching nonetheless. Thor's shown how his versatility can work on Cain before and there's nothing other than will stopping Surfer from just dragging his fat a** into orbit and leaving him there... And Hulk's proven himself capable of stopped Juggernaut when properly motivated.

How do you think Count Nefaria Matches up with the hero's already listed? I just bought the back issue where he was taken down with the Ionic Lock...and damn!

Jac, I know you mean no offense smile We're all fans here, and that should be what draws us together.
Thanks for the Juggernaut scans, those are very impressive and very much what I wanted to see....
What do you guys think of newly empowered SS?
